Idris Elba has disclosed he is planning on cutting down his social media usage because it’s now making him feel depressed.

The British actor and DJ, 47, who is an active user of Twitter and Instagram told Fast Company magazine: “I’ve been trying to wean myself off. “I used to post a lot more, but it’s been putting me off lately. And Twitter’s just not how I want to receive my news. “I read the news aggregated on my iPad, but I can’t check it constantly – I’m not proud of it, but it’s true – because it makes me feel depressed.”

The Thor star also revealed that he has found a way to find peace in his spare time.

He said: “I’ll just sit in the dark, stare, and try not to do anything-just clear my mind and decompress.” The star’s dual careers mean that moments of free time are few and far between, however, and he only sleeps “four or five” hours a night, and schedules his time in terms of projects rather than days or hours.

“I don’t think in terms of minutes or hours or days or dates, especially because I’m travelling between time zones,” he added. “My home base is London, but I could be working anywhere around the world. I pretty much know my schedule for the whole year, and I think of it in terms of blocks of time, where each project is a block.”

Paul Pogba looked in good shape as the Manchester United midfielder took to the basketball court with Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler.

The video he posted on Instagram, which showed Pogba shooting baskets and looking happy and healthy, is a far cry from how United fans have seen him recently, where his right leg has been heavily bandaged as he battled a troublesome ankle injury. A cast on his ankle was removed less than two weeks ago.

The Frenchman has been continuing his rehab in the United States and posted videos of his time on court with Butler on Thursday morning.

Paul Pogba took to the basketball court in Miami as he steps up his recovery from injury

Pogba has not featured for United since September due to the ankle issue and the £89million man’s decision to play one-on-one basketball suggests that he is progressing well in a bid to return to the side – and that he is happy risking putting his ankle under strain again.

Some fans might be concerned that the basketball session with Butler could have risked further damage to the ankle, and United will be relieved that he emerged unscathed.

He even nailed some impressive shots, including a step-back three-pointer.

Last month Pogba posted another video of himself working out in Dubai while heavily bandaged. Just days ago an excited Pogba got his ankle cast removed at hospital.

Pogba is hopeful of a return to action early next month – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side take on fierce local rivals Manchester City on December 7.

He has made just six appearances this season due to injury. But the videos on court will also act as encouragement that the target of returning for the Manchester derby remains a realistic ambition.

Juventus striker, Cristiano Ronaldo has denied reports that he secretly got married to his long-term girlfriend, Georgina Rodríguez.

This comes after Novella 2000 magazine in Italy reported on Wednesday that the footballer, 34, and the 25-year-old Spanish beauty had quietly tied the knot in a low-key ceremony in Morocco.

Those reports have since been picked up by papers and magazines in Portugal and across Europe.

Novella 2000, which is promising to reveal more details, quoted a source it described as close to the couple saying: “I understood everything on August 29.

“That day Cristiano went to Madeira with his lawyers and changed his will to protect Georgina as well

“Before that his assets were administered by his mum Dolores.”

However, representatives for the Juventus superstar, who this week moved onto 99 international goals, have told TMZ Sports: “He hasn’t gotten married.”



Sources close to the footballer on Wednesday night have also described the secret wedding reports as “fake news”.

Speculation of a wedding comes weeks after Ronaldo, who has been dating Georgina since 2015, revealed that his mother Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro’s dream is to see them both getting married in the future.

Speaking to Piers Morgan, he said: ‘She helped me so much. Of course, I’m in love with her. We’ll be (married) one day, for sure. It’s my mum’s dream as well.’

‘They have their eyes in bigger pictures,’ the former Chelsea and Manchester United boss said on Sky Sports.

The power couple, who are both Grammy award winners, presented their work entitled, “Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys: A Power Couple”. Their presentation was about the success of their personal and professional partnership.



Though the presentation held over the weekend, Alicia Keys took to Twitter this week to reveal the news and also to share photos.

She wrote: “Friday was a powerful day. My baby, Swizz Beatz, and I presented case studies on our lives and business at Harvard Business School.”


She added: “As a kid I never would’ve imagined this! If we can do it, you can do it better.”


Swizz Beatz graduated from Harvard Business School. He earned a certificate from Harvard’s Owner/President Management Program.

Earlier this year, Swizz Beatz helped put together “Gordon Parks: Selections from the Dean Collection” at Ethelbert Cooper Gallery and was featured in The Harvard Gazette.

The Board of Directors of Access Bank Plc Tuesday announced the appointment of Dr. Ajoritsedere Awosika as its new chairman, saying its current chair, Mosun Belo-Olusoga, will retire in January 2020.

Belo-Olusoga’s retirement followed the completion of her tenure as allowed by the Central Bank of Nigeria’s code of corporate governance for Banks and discount houses, the bank said in a statement to the Stock Exchange.

Access Bank said Awosika’s appointment is effective on January 8, 2020.

Jose Mourinho is talking to Tottenham about replacing Mauricio Pochettino as manager after the Argentine was sensationally sacked on Tuesday night.

Sportsmail revealed on Tuesday how Pochettino was on the brink of leaving Spurs following the club’s poor start to the season that has left them in 14th place — 11 points adrift of Manchester City in fourth.

Tottenham confirmed Pochettino’s shock departure at 7.30pm, bringing the curtain down on his five-and-a-half-year reign. Mourinho, 56, is already in discussions with Spurs to replace him and a deal could be done within 24 hours.

Three times a title winner in two spells with Chelsea, the Portuguese would relish a return to the Premier League. As Sportsmail reported on Tuesday, talks regarding Pochettino’s exit took place last week, but those discussions came to an impasse over the financial terms.

The South American, 47, is understood to be entitled to a £12.5million pay-off but it is thought an agreement was reached on Monday.

‘The club can today announce that Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff Jesus Perez, Miguel D’Agostino and Antoni Jimenez have been relieved of their duties,’ a statement read.

Chairman Daniel Levy said: ‘We were extremely reluctant to make this change and it is not a decision the board has taken lightly, nor in haste. Regrettably domestic results at the end of last season and the beginning of this have been extremely disappointing.

‘It falls to the board to make the difficult decisions — this one made more so given the many memorable moments we have had with Mauricio and his coaching staff — but we do so in the club’s best interests.

‘Mauricio and his coaching staff will always be part of our history. I have the utmost admiration for the manner in which he dealt with the difficult times away from a home ground whilst we built the new stadium and for the warmth and positivity he brought to us. I should like to thank him and his coaching staff for all they have contributed. They will always be welcome here.

‘We have a talented squad. We need to re-energise and look to deliver a positive season.’

If no deal is struck with Mourinho, Under-23s coach Ryan Mason could be in charge for Saturday’s trip to West Ham.

A Nigerian man has been sentenced to three consecutive life sentences plus an additional 76 years for raping and sodomizing a 13-year-old girl in the United States of America.

Adedoja Olaniyi Bah, 32, was convicted on 12 charges including rape, aggravated sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, two counts of child molestation, two counts of aggravated child molestation, false imprisonment, aggravated assault, terroristic threats.

He was found guilty a month ago and was sentenced on Wednesday, November 13, in Douglas County, Georgia, U.S.

Prosecutors revealed how Adedoja spotted the victim on July 15, 2017 then chased her into some woods near the Reserve at Sweetwater Apartments where she lived before punching her, throwing her to the ground and holding her down. He then raped and sodomized her.

During the attack, Bah threatened to kill her if she resisted. The victim frantically ran to a family friend’s apartment for help after the attack, while Bah calmly walked to his vehicle and drove away.

According to Fox5Atlanta, the defense asked the court for mercy and to allow Adedoja to return to his native Nigeria but the judge denied this request.

Judge Adams said: “Mercy is not mine to give you. I’m not the one you should be asking for mercy from.”

Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Samantha J. Newman told the court during the sentencing hearing: “This man is a predator in every sense of the word, and the only way I know to guarantee that he doesn’t rape another child is to make sure he is never outside of prison again.

“He deserves the sentence he received, and the victim deserves to know that Bah will never, ever, hurt her or anyone else again. Because of this victim’s strength and bravery in testifying, she has ensured the Defendant won’t be able to prey on another woman or child again.”

Bah Adedoja was arrested on July 25, 2017, at the age of 30, when Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Reserve at Sweetwater Apartments in Austell, Georgia to a reported sexual assault. Bah was arrested and charged with rape, battery and other sexual related charges and later appeared before the Magistrate Judge on July 26, 2017.

He is not a citizen of the United States and was simply visiting the U.S. temporarily when he committed those crimes.

Bills seeking to establish the South-East Development Commission (SEDC) and South-West Development Commission (SWDC) have scaled their first reading in the Nigerian Senate.

The bills to create the SEDC and SWDC were sponspored by Senator Stella Oduah (PDP, Anambra North) and Senator Ibikunle Amosun respectively.

It was further gathered that the SEDC bill which also seeks the establishment of a governing board for the commission which shall include one person from other geopolitical zones in the country, was passed by the Eight Senate but failed to receive presidential assent.

Clause 15 (2a) of each of the bills stipulates that the equivalent of 10 percent of the total monthly statutory allocation due to the member states of the commission shall be from the federation account.

Naturi who is one-third of early 2000s R&B group 3LW and the actress that played ‘Tasha’ in Power, talked about 50 Cent making fun of her in a post she described as “shady” in an interview with Page Six earlier this week.

“He knew what he did was shady and apologized for it. He realized it wasn’t the nicest thing to do. I accepted his apology, I’ve moved on.”

She went on, “He’s an EP on the show, I’m a star on the show, I can’t be worried about something like that. He believes in the work that I do on ‘Power,’ so it was just a matter of making sure that that comes across. I think he gets it, we’re cool. I’ll see him at work within the next couple of days. The Kardashian sisters have stepped up their campaign for the new Diamonds Collection of KKW perfumes.

Kim, Khloe and Kourtney have all posed for fresh images with their hair slicked back as they are dripping in millions of dollars worth of bling. The fragrances are called Original, Oud and Citrus.

Interestingly, Kim seems to have on the two diamond engagement rings that Kanye West gave her even though one was stolen during her 2016 Paris robbery where thieves made off with $10M worth of jewelry.

David Adefeso took to Instagram to write a cryptic post about closing one door in order to have another open for you and it had his followers wondering if all is well between him and Tamar, especially because, only one day ago, Tamar Braxton shared a post talking about a man who lays with you for days but doesn’t touch you.

In David’s post, he spoke about a storefront that looks dazzling but “the insides have been so beaten up and abused over the decades by bad tenants that no amount of tender loving care is capable of bringing it back to life.”

He added that at this point, “one needs to find the strength to pick up and go open up a new store no matter how much love and hope has been invested in this one.”

He added in the caption: “Sometimes you have to close one door in order to have another one open up for you!”

Tamar replied to the post, writing: “I know that right!! Periodt”

This led to speculations that trouble might be brewing in their relationship, especially coming after Tamar’s initial post.

But Tamar seems to have shut the speculations down by sharing a video of David and her son bonding in a car while singing along to the song playing.

Chelsea youngster Reece James has become the latest Premier League star to be signed by Jay-Z’s sports management company Roc Nations Sports as the 19-year-old signed on Tuesday.

The American management company have been quick to snap up the talented defender as well as his sister Lauren, a forward for Manchester United, and their father Nigel, who runs his own elite coaching academy.

Roc Nation will now manage the family’s activities both on and off the pitch, including commercial deals, media relations and ‘brand strategy’.

AC Milan chief Ivan Gazidis, who used to work for Arsenal and helped to sign Xhaka in 2016, will lead negotiations as he looks to improve his club’s fortunes.

Current Arsenal boss Unai Emery has admitted Xhaka may have played his last game for the club after leaving his former skipper out of their last four matches.

Emery said when asked about Xhaka’s future: ‘I don’t know if he’s going to play [for us] again.

‘It was very hurtful and frustrating. I can’t understand a reaction like that even now, especially the vehemence of it and the extreme hostility directed against me.

‘At a time you are already experiencing a lot of hostility and your own football family insults you, it hurts a lot.’
