Men intending to marry more than one woman at a time should know that they cannot do that without the full consent of their wife, and that consent has to be given not under duress. the logic behind it is that: YOU JUST CANNOT DRAG A GROWN INDIVIDUAL INTO AN INSTITUTION IF THEY DO NOT CONSENT TO IT! YOUR CURRENT WIFE/WIFES ARE GROWN INDIVIDUALS AND FROM THAT, THEY DERIVE THE INALIGNABLE RIGHT TO CONSENT, UNDER NO DURESS, TO WHAT EVER KIND OF ARRANGEMENT YOU WANT TO GET THEM INTO.

and pls dont come up with 'my religion allows this and that'. thats a poor excuse to want to go into polygamy! you people are the kind of people that make poygamy look like it is a bad thing. IF SHE DOESNT CONSENT TO IT, THEN WHY GO IN IT? YOU REALLY THINK THERE IS ANYTHING SPECIAL ABOUT HAVING MORE THAN ONE WIFE, OR BEING MARRIED AT ALL?

if you feel you must take another wife, then i think you should have let your wife to know about it even before you got maried to her. just before mariage, and among the other things you must talk about, you should let her know that as you are getting married to her, there is still a possibility that she is going to have a co-wife as time goes on. if she wants it, then she can go on and get maried to you, but if not, then you two should part ways.

this is sound logic and common sense! Islam is causing trouble everywhere!

Back to the debate, Falana expantiated at length citing difference sections of the constitution and court judgments while Ozikhome didn't elaborate enough with sections of the constitution that give them the power and also no explanation of court orders.

it is imperative to analyse issues with an objective mind.
u assumed a condescending posture to deliver ur judgement based on rethorical prowess of debaters and not reality.
if u go with falana, NASS becomes a toothless bulldog and a house where people come to make all sorts of noise without tangible impact on governance and gets paid for doing nothing to check the excesses of other arms of govt and its members
FOR EXAMPLE, according to falana, NASS can not audit the govt, only the auditor general appointed by the same govt can. does dat make any sense to you?
