Nothing to do with size, the Russian army is simply unable to break through Ukraine's defence with a resulting stalemate. The same Russian army seized about 15% of the country in the initial days of the war and has barely advance 1% in almost 4 years with Ukraine increasingly taking the battle to Russia itself.

France is comparable in size to Ukraine, yet was overrun by Germany in less than 60 days.

The bulk of land Russia annex happened in the first few days of 2022 ( & lost a good bit in the same way when Ukraine counterattacked) when the open war started. Once the Ukrainian army took position and aid started pouring in, the battle line froze.

PresidentMUGABE:
BREAKING: U.S. CSAR Teams Pull Off Daring Double Rescue of Both Downed F-15E Airmen in Iran

American combat search and rescue forces charged deep into enemy Iranian territory and successfully pulled both crew members from a U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle shot down during Operation Epic Fury.

The jet from the 494th Fighter Squadron took a hit from Iranian defenses while hammering regime targets. Both the pilot and weapons systems officer ejected into rugged southwestern mountains where Iranian forces and militias were hunting them down.

A first CSAR team grabbed one airman under heavy fire. A second team went back in, flying low in HH-60W Jolly Green II helicopters supported by HC-130J tankers while dodging MANPADS and ground fire. A-10 Warthogs laid down suppressive fire to cover the extraction. Both Americans are now safe in Iraq and in good hands.

This marks the first confirmed U.S. manned aircraft loss over Iran in the fighting, even as CENTCOM had pushed back on earlier rumors of additional losses. Once again, American forces proved they never leave their own behind, no matter how deep behind enemy lines or how hot the ground fire gets.

Our warriors showed raw courage against a bloodthirsty regime that cheers every shot at Americans. The mullahs may brag about downing a Strike Eagle, but they failed to keep our airmen. U.S. rescue teams just walked right in and took them home.

When I Was Watching Politics Today I Would've Shot Seun If There Was Way To Break The Screen" -Wike

Channels Television's political news host Seun Okinbaloye has come under fire from Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike for his handling of a recent interview with an ADC member.

Arise TV posted a video of Wike reacting to the interview, in which he expressed shock and anger. Wike stated that he would have shot Seun if there had been a way to breach the screen. He was especially unhappy because Seun, the interviewer, had voiced his personal belief that no political party should be able to control Nigeria's government.

I would have shot him if there was a way to smash the screen yesterday while I was watching Politics Today, Seun, according to Wike. Now that you're the interviewer, you're expressing your personal opinion on how people can coexist in this country with just one political party.

PoliticsRe: Another LNG Windfall Is Coming—will Nigeria Finally Use It Right? by peleson1: 1:28pm On Apr 01
Ayietim:
Nigeria is about to receive another energy windfall.

The real risk isn’t losing it—it’s wasting it.
Global demand for LNG is rising fast. Prices are strengthening. And with over 200 trillion cubic feet of gas reserves, Nigeria is in a prime position to benefit.

But here’s the uncomfortable truth:
We’ve been here before.

Commodity booms have come and gone—yet long-term growth has remained elusive.

The problem isn’t revenue.
It’s allocation.

To break the cycle, the approach must be disciplined and simple:

→ Stabilize the economy
→ Invest in productivity
→ Drive long-term growth

That means channeling LNG revenues into what actually moves the economy:

• Logistics and infrastructure (to reduce business costs)
• Digital systems (to expand market access)
• Affordable credit (to unlock SME growth)

And beyond that:
Power.
Skills.
Healthcare.

Because without fixing these, growth will always stall.

At the macro level, strengthening foreign reserves is just as critical. Stability builds confidence—and confidence attracts capital.
Bottom line:

This isn’t just an energy opportunity.
It’s a discipline test.

Nigeria doesn’t need another boom.
It needs to finally use one well.
LNG is not the opportunity. Discipline is.

PoliticsRe: 2027: Wike Rules Out Fubara by peleson1: 1:32pm On Mar 30
Truths9ja:
From Mike Odiegwu, Port Harcourt
The battle lines for the 2027 governorship race in Rivers State may have been drawn.

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike, fired an early and decisive shot.

In a blunt and characteristically combative declaration, the former governor ruled out any possibility of backing his successor, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, for a second term.

Wike spoke during a pre-convention meeting with some Rivers APC delegates at his Abuja residence, where he made it clear that no pressure, inducement or political manoeuvring would make him repeat what he described as the “mistake” of 2023.

reconciliation or future alliance, Wike said he had learned hard lessons from his decision to support Fubara’s emergence as governor and would not be swayed again.

He said: “No amount of blackmail, no amount of intimidation will make me repeat the same mistake I made before.

“If anybody is bringing money to you, it is your business. I don’t know how long I will live on this earth, but I will not make that mistake again.”

The minister, who has repeatedly expressed regret over his role in Fubara’s emergence, blamed the current political crisis in Rivers on what he described as betrayal and ingratitude.

The once-close political allies have since fallen out, plunging the state into prolonged instability marked by factional battles and institutional tensions.

Wike also issued a stern warning to politicians allegedly using his name to advance their governorship ambitions ahead of 2027.

He cautioned that such individuals were acting on their own and should not drag him into their political calculations.

He said: “Don’t go and entangle yourself with anybody saying he wants to run for governorship.

“Some people are parading themselves, forming groups – Ijaw groups, Ogoni groups, Ikwerre groups – using my name. Continue to group yourselves, but I see all of you and I’m marking you.”

He urged members of his political family to remain cautious, safeguard their resources and avoid being misled by opportunistic politicians.

Wike declared: “My fight is not an easy one. I don’t need to win, but I will make sure that before you come out, there is no remedy. So be careful. Hold your money and pray for God to choose you.”

Taking a swipe at those allegedly funding online campaigns against him, Wike maintained that he was unfazed by opposition and even thrived in political battles.

He said: “If you want to fight me, it is okay. Without a fight, I can’t survive.

“But I want somebody who, when he leaves office, will still appreciate those who helped him, not someone who will bring in new people to fight us.”

The minister also praised members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Martins Amaewhule, for what he described as their resilience and loyalty.

According to him, the lawmakers chose to endure hardship, including going without salaries, rather than betray their political convictions.

Shortly after Wike’s remarks, Bomah Iyaye distanced himself from reports suggesting he had declared interest in the governorship race or secured the minister’s endorsement.

In a statement, Iyaye described the reports as inaccurate and misleading, insisting that he remained focused on his responsibilities at the NDDC.

“My attention has been drawn to reports circulating on social media suggesting that I have declared an ambition for the office of Governor of Rivers State and have been endorsed by the Honourable Minister,” he said. “These reports are not true and do not reflect my position.”

He clarified that he had neither made any formal declaration nor received endorsement from Wike or any other political figure.

“I remain fully committed to my duties as Executive Director, Finance and Administration of the NDDC, working with stakeholders to advance sustainable development in the Niger Delta,” he added.

Also, uncertainty continues to surround Governor Fubara’s political future, particularly regarding his intention to seek a second term.

His silence has fueled speculation that he may have shelved re-election plans.

However, a source close to the governor dismissed such claims, saying Fubara would soon make his position known.

The aide, who spoke in confidence, maintained that Fubara remained a strong political force in the state and enjoyed considerable goodwill within the APC’s national leadership.

According to the source, the governor is still being considered a viable candidate to fly the party’s flag in 2027, despite the ongoing rift with his predecessor.

Someone had postulated that the artesh faction of the Iranian army are not fully in tandem with the Qud forces or IRGC.

I think there’s been some mutiny in the Iranian military. A new faction backed by the west will assume power.
So it’s not a hostile takeover per se. I think it’s to provide support and crush resistance when this new factional leader emerges. Machiavellian playbook.
I think what is playing out here in iran is tribalism , the Quad are the people ruling Iran now and wants to retain power by all means through khensmi son but the other tribes v been totally out of control for over 40years of khemsni rule and needs a stronger support on ground to be able to ride and the protest too ,many of them were killed so if the US and allied troops are on Iranian soil, the push will start and it will be over
PoliticsRe: Tinubu’s Washington Problem Is Real, And No London Photo-op Can Save Him by peleson1: 1:40pm On Mar 23
TrioVibes:
Tinubu’s Washington Problem Is Real, and No London Photo-Op Can Save Him

By Kio Amachree

Let us stop pretending that all is well.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has a serious problem in Washington, and it is getting worse.

First came the U.S. court orders. In April 2025, a federal judge ordered the FBI and DEA to release records tied to Tinubu. Then in February 2026, Judge Beryl Howell lost patience with the delays, rebuked the agencies, demanded sworn explanations, imposed a release timetable, and ordered continuing status reports. That is not a trivial development. That is a sign that this matter is alive, active, and serious.

Then came the political humiliation.

Nigeria was redesignated by the United States as a Country of Particular Concern in late October 2025 over religious-freedom abuses, a major diplomatic blow to any government that wants to be seen as credible, stable, and in control. By January 22, 2026, Abuja and Washington had to set up a special joint working group just to address the damage from that designation. That is not the posture of a respected partner. That is the posture of a government under pressure.

Then came the desperate public-relations scramble.

Nigeria hired U.S. lobbyists in a $9 million effort to “communicate its position” to Washington as criticism mounted over insecurity and the treatment of Christians. At the same time, First Lady Remi Tinubu went to Washington for the National Prayer Breakfast, appeared on conservative U.S. media, and met lawmakers as part of the same broader influence campaign. Nine million dollars spent, the First Lady dispatched, the full charm offensive activated, and yet the core problem remains. Tinubu still looks like a leader trying to repair trust he does not have.

And now the security optics are even more damaging.

Reuters reported on March 21, 2026 that the United States has multiple MQ-9 drones operating in Nigeria alongside about 200 U.S. troops providing intelligence and training support. Whether Abuja likes it or not, that is the image of a country viewed in Washington not as a normal democratic success story, but as a worsening security problem.

Put all of this together and the picture is ugly.

A president with unresolved U.S. records hanging over him.
A country branded by Washington as a Country of Particular Concern.
A $9 million lobbying campaign that reeks of desperation.
A First Lady sent to plead Nigeria’s case in America.
U.S. troops and drones on Nigerian soil because insecurity is spiraling.

This is not strength. This is weakness dressed up as diplomacy.

Tinubu’s supporters may still choose fantasy over facts. They may tell themselves that a state visit to Britain, a few smiling photographs, and establishment handshakes in Europe will solve the problem. They will not. London cannot erase a U.S. federal court order. Paris cannot bury FBI and DEA files. No friendly foreign capital can wash away the stain of a government that has had to spend millions begging Washington to change its mind while America simultaneously brands Nigeria a serious violator and deepens its own military footprint inside the country.

This is why I believe Tinubu’s political danger is not coming from the usual noise in Abuja. It is coming from the collision between old records, present insecurity, and foreign distrust.

Once the remaining documents come out, Nigerians may discover that the problem was never just bad governance.

It was that the man at the top had become a liability to the very foreign powers whose approval he desperately needed.

And when that truth lands fully, many of his supporters will be shattered.

Because the real story may turn out not to be that Tinubu was protected.

It may be that he was useful, until he became too expensive to protect.

PoliticsRe: DICON CEO Inspects Site Of Nigeria’s First Military Jetty by peleson1: 5:19pm On Mar 22
Ojimaojo11:
The Chief Executive Officer of Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria–D7G (DICON-D7G), Osman Chennar, has led members of the board on an inspection visit to the proposed site of Nigeria’s first military jetty in Lagos.

The project is expected to strengthen indigenous defence production and support the Federal Government’s renewed hope agenda on self-reliance in military manufacturing.

Speaking during the visit, Chennar described the facility as a strategic infrastructure that would enhance Nigeria’s logistics chain and industrial capacity in defence production.

He said the jetty, located near Tin Can Island Port, would enable efficient importation of Completely Knocked Down (CKD) and Semi-Knocked Down (SKD) components, as well as other critical raw materials needed for local assembly.

“The project will reduce turnaround time, lower transportation costs and streamline supply chain operations necessary for scaling up local defence production,” he said.

According to him, the facility will support domestic manufacturing of small and medium arms, ammunition, tactical drones, unmanned systems and mine-resistant ambush protected vehicles.

Chennar also disclosed that DICON-D7G has commenced production of DG103 rifles in Kaduna for both Nigerian and African markets.

He added that the proposed jetty, when completed, is projected to create employment for over 2,000 retired military personnel and about 5,000 skilled civilians.

A member of the board, Major-General Mainasara Abdul Masanawa (retd), said the jetty would serve as an export gateway for finished defence products to friendly African countries.

He noted that the development would deepen regional defence cooperation and position Nigeria as a hub for military manufacturing on the continent.

“The project underscores our commitment to reducing reliance on foreign defence equipment and strengthening self-sufficiency for the Armed Forces and other security agencies,” Masanawa said.

He further stated that the initiative would help conserve foreign exchange, build local technical expertise and stimulate technology transfer.

The military jetty is scheduled for official launch in June 2026, marking what officials describe as a major milestone in Nigeria’s drive towards a resilient and self-sustaining defence industrial base.

ErnestNc:
Bck in 2020 I could recall one time , there was this new beautiful girl in my street whom i admired so much. Lets call her Amina, a corper. She had skin like milk and hourly glass shape that made all the boys drooled.

Her walking steps made her backside giggle with every pace in time. I was barely 23 and was a fvcking simp. Each time our eyes met, she would smile sheepishly as i waved at her , while she giggled her behind as she walked past elegantly. In my head i was like "omo this babe don dey dread me, be like say things go sup". My next game plan was to take her number and i did.

One day Amina walked past and my friends called my attention , " oboi that banny don dey pass again". Prior to this, i had informed them of my intentions to block her. But that day i was reluctant , cuz i was dressed like a servant as she had seen me in that clothing thrice before. I would be appearing like merlin..u know... grin grin cheesy

My greatest desire that period was to please her and give her a good treat . I didnt mind if we had nothing, tho i wanted some grin. Watching her facial expressions alone was satisfying as she was drop dead gorgeous.

Eventually i got her number on a good day. We got talking and i opted for her to come over and she agreed. I bribed my roomie to clean up the house and get lost .
He did but at the 11th hour before her arrival, she canceled and preferred we stayed out or go somewhere nice, which i obliged.

We sat inside Final Fantasy at Choba for a drink. She was soft spoken and even the tone and sound of her voice melted my heart each time she spoke my name. I guess i was in love cheesy cheesy. The babe just dey gimme joy , we fit knack grin

In that moment , she received a call and she became uncomfortable as i read her expressions. It seemed she was being questioned about her whereabout and her response went like this. " I'm at final fantasy..i'll be there soon, i just wanna get shawarma and drinks. dnt worry i'll get for u too ''.

By this time, we'd spoken for about an hour and she had the sudden prompt to leave, but asked us to go get shawarma and food for her friend. Prior to getting the shawarma, i had paid for our food and drinks (2 plates of beef rice and 2 chi exotic and extra turkey, plus a take away pack for her friend) totalling 21k.

Mind you, i never bothered to ask if her friend was male or female. I assumed it would be a female friend cuz ladies would barely buy things for guys. In my simp mind i was like "make i run some 1 or 2 for her friend, so i go get some rating".

We got to the shawarma stand and while we were there, i saw her waving at a c300 benz. unknowingly to me , it was the male friend who called her. She ordered two shawarma and i told the guy to make extra one , and i forgot to tell him the extra one was for me. As she was about to pay, i brought out my card and offered to pay, she smiled widely , it pleased me...how foolish of me cry. He put all three in one nylon pack and handed it over to her .

It wasnt his fault, he thought we were going home together(i wished), and because of pride i couldnt collect that one extra shawarma back ..hahahahaha grin grin grin. i been mumu sha. She hurriedly collected it . I was expecting a hug embarassed but Amina shook me saying " i had a nice time. You're such a sweet soul. see u later, that's my friend over there. bye". lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

She hurriedly left and got into her friend's car . I felt like the ground should swallow me. Did i just buy food for a girl's boyfriend? They zoomed off probably to go do some pounding .... yh it was her boyfriend . sHE told me later on. I actually bought a pack of rice , 3 shawarma and drinks for them. Money wey i been plan to use sew native and buy pams...omo e waste. embarassed embarassed embarassed. i for just carry olosho , e for no cost me reach like that.
