It seems to me TEXACO is most guilty of this crime. I have experienced this nonsense at the Texaco Stations in LAWANSON, ALAKA and the one by Alapere Estate. Those guys are simply terrible. You can't be too careful!

If you had the opportunity of dinning with President Yaradua, and he asked you to request for 3 things you would want him to immediately do for Nigeria, What would these be? He is bound by oath and will neither refuse nor go back on his words.

Investment / Re: Stocks That Can Make You Rich In 2007 by Pelican(m): 10:45am On Jul 05, 2007
Someone please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since February, a youngman whom I know personally, (I still prefer to withold his name for now) made me understand that, against my believe, he is actually an agent to SUPRA COMMERCIAL TRUST LTD. Meanwhile he has been operating with me under the name SEBVIC INVESTMENTS LTD.

He told me I cannot operate my portfolio because SUPRA is on suspension. I have stock worth millions of Naira with him.

Please who knows about this body? What can I do in a situation like this because it is causing me a lot of stress.

Thanks.

Travel / Re: Nigerians In The UK Are So Stingy by Pelican(m): 8:40am On Jul 05, 2007
Well, the simple truth is that there are stingy Nigerians abroad just as there are generous caring ones.

Some people made their way abroad thanks to the goodness of a friend. The problem is that while there is a good system abroad and wonderful infrastructures, life there does not give room for waste! The system is so ordered that it gets back as much as it gives you through tax and bills.

A Nigerian can survive for a month without a kobo in his pocket, he can bump into friends at meal time and get something no matter how small, but that is not the case abroad because of tight budgetting. I know of some Nigerian students who made it through school thanks to fellow schoolmates. Nigerians by nature are by and large generous, I tell you, but the system abroad usually makes it not too easy.

Having said that, it is also true that many Nigerians have very false view of life abroad. Many think you pluck money there. Get it right, if you must survive there, you must work very very hard for it. Except of course those who give us bad names!

If our government can put the basic things in place, Road, Power, Security, Good Education system etc, sincerely speaking Nigeria is a better place to live in. Going abroad would have just been a matter of vacation.

Let's pray and hope we'll get there someday very soon.
Investment / Re: Looking For A Buyer For Your Shares? by Pelican(m): 8:37pm On Jul 03, 2007
Hello friends,

From some responses and fears expressed by some here, I think some of us maybe getting frankriri right: Frankriri's first presumption is that you already have stocks with a broker. This medium is to help facilitate your disposing of those stocks, especially when your broker seems to be telling you the sad story that no one is buying the particular stock you urgently want to sell off. And on the other hand when the broker also tells you he is not able to purchase a particular stock you desperately desire to buy.

Therefore:

mimiko:

guys this is really cool please don't do anything without the advice of a broker, if don't ve one check this out. call this broker 08038437516

1.Yes, everything is eventually done through your broker.

chukuoyims:

Hi, Let us be properly guided by what we do in life. For proper idea, knowledge and information about stocks ,please do consult BROKERS.
The buying and selling of stocks is transacted through them.
Politics / Re: Yar'adua Declares His Assets by Pelican(m): 1:57am On Jul 03, 2007
Fellow Nigerians,
(I hope I'm not sounding like those cowboys of yesteryears. God forbid such distractions in my fatherland again!),
much as we have freedom of opinion and expression, it's important that we also note the effect of our contribtutions on the nation as a whole through this forum.

When we make negative comments like some we have read under this topic, we indirectly empower and encourage the evil politicians in our land. Why and how? Because they console themselves by saying,"eat what ever you want to eat, afterall Mr Yaradua wey won do goodman, Nigerians still callam thief" We make the likes of Abacha(if the accusations were true) and most of our politicians saints.

The truth we must understand is that in spite of whatever shortcomings our president may have as a human being, he has shown by his words and actions so far, that he is a noble man and a man of integrity. He is a rare gem to have come out to declare his asset. This singular action, as far as I'm concerned already outweighs the 8yrs noise of Chief Obasanjo against corruption.

If Nigerians still do not see anything good in our presidents action, then even if an angel comes down to rule us, we will never be satisfied. What Yaradua needs now is for all men and women of goodwill, who love this country, to Begin to pray earnestly for him because his action must have already pitched him on the enemy camp against most of the other politicians. I fear for his life, but I pray that God will hearken to the prayers of the many suffering people in Nigeria and see him through.

My dear president, may God help you, grant you the strenght of David and the wisdom of Solomon to lead us aright. Amen.
Properties / Re: Looking For A 3 Bedroom Flat In Ph? by Pelican(m): 11:45pm On Jul 02, 2007
Please does any one have a one bedroom self contained for rent in PH? Anywhere in the main town, Rumuokoro or Rumuola will be preferable. (I hope I got the spelling right sha!) A nice BQ in a quiet compound can also be manageable. Since my work requires me frequently shuttle between Lagos and PH, I think this will better idea than hanging in Ph hotels every now and then. Please Contact me through 08052316232. Thanks.
Investment / Re: Looking For A Buyer For Your Shares? by Pelican(m): 11:11pm On Jul 02, 2007
I think making contacts for sales of shares through this medium, is a wonderful idea. As for the modality, after the interested buyer gets phone contact with the 'seller', the later in turn informs his/her broker of the deal and  amount arrived at. Of course the broker makes his commission as usual both ways. Or what do you think? but in the end, rather than wait for too long especially when it concerns difficult stocks like transcorp (for now) you can easily get a more patient investor take them up, while you move on, you know!
Abeg, me I want sell some transcorp!!!! N8 only. I blv in the stock but I need some funds urgently. 150,000 units only. And 250,000units of Dunlop at N4.00k. Contact me on 08034077205. All the best dear friends.
