There is no voltage increase.Pv voltage is 45v on the screen. Its a 51v panel. So i guess length of wire/sun intensity has reduced it. But then again why the 33amps charging current and 12amps pv amps disparity.
how many volts is your battery? Looks like 24v, your panels are supplying 12a at 45v which your charge controller converts to 24v at 33amps. It should be way higher than that though as you seem to have more panels

Pwm. According to the controller configuration. The max wattage for 12v panels is 780, while 180w x5 will give 900w if I'm to connect 24v i can use upto 1500w of panels
connect all in parallel, the most you will see from the panels will be around 600w, you will need to use thicker cables though, at least 10mm. Connecting in series will result in power wastage as your cc is pwm

The system is a 12v (inverter and battery) charge controller is an automatic (12-48v) 60a
is the charge controller pwm or mppt, if pwm connect all panels in parallel

Hello my people

I need help again. Remember months back, I had a 6 units of battery, 10kva 48volts inverter and 14 panels installed for me. Though, only 4 batteries are running at the moment and the other two are just connected to charge.

Recently, I noticed a drop. The backup doesn’t last at all. This system usually takes me 24 hours and repeat if there’s no light. But now, once the sun goes down, it doesn’t serve past 6 hours sef that’s even if I’m running just a rechargeable fan and a light bulb. Then, this system would take me till dawn even with my fridge on and I won’t use past 40% of the total charge overnight.

Initially, I thought it was the charge controller so I had one of my boss swap his charge controller with mine, but no changes. Then I realized that when I charge with NEPA, it works very fine. But when I charge with solar, it doesn’t last at all. Meanwhile… I have 14 whole panels.

One of my boss said that dusts has covered the panels due to the harmattan that we need to clean the panels panels which we did.

In summary, system lasts and works very fine when charged with NEPA, but doesn’t last at all when I charge with solar panel.

What could be the issue? I’ve been substituting with fuel because our light is not always constant.

Please, help a brother.
how many watts are your solar panels, what type of charge controller do you use, a picture of the controller working in the afternoon will be great

12.0v is 20% Dod for li-ion 3s configuration. Lfp is fully charge at 13.6v(when the charger is disconnected), 14.4v is the voltage when the battery is still being CHARGED, same thing applies to Lead acid batteries (flooded) charged at 14.2v to 14.6v depending on temperature and while at rest, it's fully charged at 12.7v.
On a final note, depending on your source of information and brand of LFP I'll stick with 12.8v for 80% DOD (to avoid over discharging)
a 3s li-ion pack has a voltage range of 8.4v to 12.6v if you are discharging to 2.8v per cell, so how is 12.0v 20% dod when the batteries are still at 4.0v per cell? Your lifepo4 batteries are fully charged at 14.4v and not at 13.6v, some batteries have a rest voltage of 13.4v depending on how long they have been resting
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Penuelseun(m): 10:28pm On Jan 09
dacool1:

Yes, lfp handles load better than lithium ion because lfp has a more stable voltage during its discharge. Lithium ion can also be discharged to 80% but voltage will be much lower and this affects inverters performance.

For comparison, LFP fully charged at13.6v and 12.9v at 80% Dod while lithium ion 12.6v at fully charged and 12.0v at about 20% DOD. Note the voltage difference.

Most times, inverters will hit LVD on some load while using lithium ion despite having a lot of juice but it rarely happens when you make use of LFP (especially when your battery bank is not large).

Though you can correct this by changing the configuration of the lithium ion by changing from 3s to 4s but this usually cause a problem with getting the voltage to work with your inverter especially 12v systems.
li-ion does not do so good in a 12v configuration, best for 24v and 48v systems, has a greater energy density than lifepo4 albeit with lower cycle life. Also 12.0v is not 20% dod for a 3s battery pack as you have a voltage range of 4.2v to 3.0v if you are discharging to 80%. Lfp is also fully charged at 14.4v while 80% dod is at 12.8v

Transformer based
that it is transformer based does not make it less efficient, mine consumes about 11w on standby. 1.2kva 12v

It seems this board is faulty after idling for years without use, because the UPS tries to power on but it immediately cut off power.

can I make use of the transformer without the board?

valto dollarnaira
Nope, get another inverter or a new board, you can take the board to a technician to help you repair it

Back of tv 19.5v 109w
Adaptor output 19.5v 6.2a
a boost converter will do the work if you are using a 12v battery while you need a buck converter if you have a 24v or 48v battery. I personally will advise that you use your system as it is as the energy you are saving is not worth the stress

Thanks man I really appreciate. But what of in a case tying the adapter wire red to red and black to black of the battery is that workable? Instead of going through the fan.
not advisable, 12v adapter won't charge the battery while the 15v adapter will overcharge the battery. Better you go through the fan

the solar port is stating 12v to 15v. pix 1 is the port,2 the 12v adaptor, 3 the replacement battery. Through the solar port this adaptor powers it, but the battery didn't get full although the night so I assumed its not charging the battery. what I seek now is if I can connect the adaptor directly to the battery not through the solar port.
the 12v adapter will only power the fan and not charge the battery, you need a higher voltage than your battery voltage hence the 15v adapter suggestion

thanks for your assistance so far. But just noticed the both adaptors I have are 12v 1.5a and 19v 3.3a, none of them can go? Am just trying to be economical because I just changed the board of the fan and don't intend spending on the fan nw except its necessary. Thanks
Let me see a picture of the solar input port

how many volts is the battery? If 12v, then you need a 15v adapter

Nice one, you can use a 6mm or 10mm DC wire as your bus bar for the cells, an Ethernet cable can be used to solder each individual cell

Definitely there's going to be difference in charging going by these mathematical calculations.

12v 100ah
12.8v x 100ah = 1,280wh/1.28kwh

2 x 415watt panels = 830watt

So, 1,280wh ÷ 830watt = 1.542h. So approximately within 2 - 3hours of a great sunlight n provided the inverter system is idle, the battery should be fully charged

24v 100ah
12.8v × 2 × 100ah = 2,560wh/2.56kwh

2 x 415watt panels = 830watt

So, 2,560wh/830watt = 3.08h. By this calculation, the 24volts pack should attain full charge within 3 - 4hours provided all other factors is considered.

In conclusion, 12volt 100ah battery is not the same as 24volt 100ah battery. When in use under the same condition, 24volt 100ah battery would last longer than 12volt 100ah battery

check again, it is 12v 200ah vs 24v 100ah

If you have ur way with lithium ion u go fear.
You sold out urs back den probably u didn't do proper balance to max it out.
I did proper balance for the cells jare, all the cells I built are still been used by the various customers I built it for. I just find it way easier assembling lifepo4 cells that I have abandoned li-ion

I av come again gurus, I have a 12v 1kva hybrid afripower inverter(spec is pwm wit max volt, current and panel as 25v,25a and 600w resp) which i mainly use to power lights and TV. Was working towards adding 600w solar panel wit seperate CC just so I can add my freezer to it. Today I decided to just plug the freezer to the inverter today to even see if it would carry it and voila inverter tripped off showing shortcircuit and then later overload. This inverter usually carries it if utility is available but this one it failed wit just the dc, what do I do? Would connecting the panels directly to the inverter help instead of using CC or do i av to get a bigger inverter? Freezer is haier thermocool 200l wit input current at 180watts
either battery capacity is low, battery voltage is low or inverter cannot handle surge current, what is your battery capacity and which type of battery?
