Adjo10: And trust me, just like the way the Consulate told you they can’t do anything until it is approved by the Ministry of Labor so will Police Federal (immigration office) in Brazil will tell you they cannot do anything without the Consulate’s work visa sticker in your passport. It is a process that cannot be skipped.
But you will make it. Let your employer in Brazil keep pushing for the Ministry to approve. Cheers Thanks |

Applying for a work visa outside Brazil is not child's play oooo.. I and my employer have followed all the steps on their website... And we have been on the online queue for more than a year now but no positive response from their Ministry of Labour in Brazil. This forced me to visit their Brazil in Nigeria and I was told that the consular can't help except they receive approval from MTE in Brazil....
What is on their website is just there for formality sake. What I also notice is that their brazilian system is extremely slow and they don't respond to mails. |

MrBrownJay1: You can change from a tourist visa to a working visa.... But it's a bit tricky... While on your tourist visa, you find a job, get the contract etc, then you apply via a lawyer, who will make all the paperwork for you. When they visa has been approved, the lawyer will give you all the working visa details.... AND THATS WHEN IT GET TRICKY, you need to go to the border, and you walk out of brazil on one side enter Argentina (for example) and walk right back in Brazil on the other side (stating the working visa # etc)... Then you will get the right stamp in your passport ( even if your tourist visa had expired) with which you will now be legally on a working visa in Brazil.
You can't do that at the airport because you have to legally leave Brazil, that's why you have to do it at the border.... Many people take buses to do these visa run. No big deal! Thanks for this... That means while in Brazil on tourist visa applying through lawyer is possible but outside Brazil, I think the applicant paper work needs to pass through ministry of labour in Brazil for approval before work visa can be granted in someone's home country. The process na war oooo Once again, thanks for the enlightenment on the helpful trick. |

Thanks Adjo10: Not possible in Brazil or any country i know of including Nigeria. (Unless you seek Asylum) which I don’t know anything about. The only ways to obtain a work permit on a tourist visa is to give birth in Brazil or marry a Brazilian. Then you can change your status to a “ Permanent Resident” which includes a work permit in itself.
Cheers |

MrBrownJay1: Sorry bro, I only know about doing the CPF, at the policia federal, as you land in Brazil.... Normal tourist wouldn't normally need to apply for a CPF. This one is for a job purpose and the employer in brazil is requesting for it? |
Travel › Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by peppo4live: 8:06pm On May 23, 2019 |
MrBrownJay1: In Brazil they don't , whether you are having triplets or quintuplets. Just get yourself your CPF at the policia federal (any tourist can get it), then waltz into any public hospital and you will be able to give birth for free. How many days does it take to get CPF at Brazilian embassy in Nigeria? A friend applied on Monday and he was told there is network issue. They promised to mail the CPF print out to him... Up till now, he hasn't receive mail from the embassy. Any idea on what to do? He has sent series of mails but they said it will be sent once is approved |

Samuelsoma: hmmm bro, to be sincere its difficult to get a job without a PR, infact its not allowed by law. so pls prepare yourself financially and then you can find some cheaper and safe cities to stay. for example in places like florianopolis, curitiba you can get a good service apartment for rent at 1200-1500reais/per month...equivalent in naira of btw 100k-150k/per month give or take...so you can have a budget for the number of months you plan to stay and i will advice you even over shoot your budget and have much more extra cash with you. For me, brazil is the best option to give birth right now with all the several benefits it has and you will forever be grateful that you did it for your child/children If job is waiting for someone in Brazil, does that mean that person has gotten PR automatically... What can you say about securing work visa at their embassy in Nigeria... Hope they are not that strict with it? Thanks |
