Politics › Re: The Real Reason Dangote Abandoned Nigeria's Crude Oil by Peppysco: 7:53am On Feb 10, 2024 |
shortgun: I laughed very hard when Reno the dumbo posted that the reason Dangote is getting Crude oil outside the shores of Nigeria for his refinery in Lagos was because Nigeria's crude oil have already been contracted far into the future. And we have a quota from OPEC.... As usual, many fell for his senseless, baseless and nonsensical assertions without bothering to verify or ask critical questions like. How will a refinery that was conceptualized, designed and built to refine Nigerian crude oil not have adequate provisions for Nigerian crude oil supply?
Well, the real gist and the crux of the matter is that the federal government refused to accept naira payments for crude oil sales to Dangote refinery, insisting that Dangote pay only in dollars. Despite Dangote's reservations about the government's motive for requesting foreign currency in a domestic transaction where naira should be the only legal tender , the federal government remained adamant, demanding payment solely in dollars. Also, the federal government mandated that Dangote Refinery cover the freight costs for vessels selected by government cronies, equivalent to the rates charged by overseas vessels, along with port charges and landing costs—all payable in dollars.
After crunching the numbers , the management of Dangote Refinery concluded that sourcing crude oil from outside Nigeria from far away USA would result in lower costs. Thus, they decided to abandon the Nigerian crude, leaving it for Tinubu and his cronies to drink. Hmmm, writing so much trash with arrogance and nativity, no surprised anyways, you have your target audience. To make you and your audience understand the jargons you cooked there, I'll ask you this question in a layman's term. Assuming your assertion was true, do you really think sourcing for forex from foreign banks, at high interest rates by Dangote in order to buy from the US is a cheaper or better alternative than buying from the Nigerian government? Not even considering the cost of frieght and other logistics. Dude, you've only succeeded in confusing more like minded people like you. |

Business › Re: Banks To Pay Customers Money Sent From Abroad In Naira by Peppysco: 9:50am On Feb 09, 2024 |
Namaster: Tinubu and Cardoso have made another HUGE mistake.
Fools are tightening the noose around banks receiving Forex inflow when there are LITERALLY tons of other ways to receive your money.
No one will use banks to receive money with their nonsense exchange rates when there are better options out there.
Cardoso is a prime example of an extremely inspired idiot.
Imagine creating more hurdles for receiving Forex when the country is already groaning about NOT receiving any Forex in the first place.
That's like pouring MORE water on a drowning man.
Tinubu has no idea what to do with Nigeria. He's too proud and too nepotistic to get people who can help him out of the mess he's created. It is safe to say that you only made this point from your rigid point of understanding. If only you were a bit flexible, you would understand the objectives of the policy. To begin with, I'll ask you this question. What statistics do you have to back up your claim that there's no inflow of forex into the country, can you prove that here? This policy isn't about crippling the inflow of forex but is majorly aimed at crippling or reducing the damaging influence of the BDC's, who also are the major economic saboteurs in the country. Millions of Nigerians have thousands and millions of redundant dollars domiciled in their accounts for speculative reasons, yet, we still continue to blame the government for scarce forex and the poor state of the Naira. To me, this is a short term recovery policy, if properly executed by commercial banks. Brace up, the next one may be, placing a ceiling on domiciliary accounts in order to reduce/ prevent hoarding. Nigerians will complain about the policy, but it is one in the right direction. |

MoonWater: I have been in the hospitality industry for a few years and I have had funny experiences with Yoruba actress and actors.
They come to hotels and make fake transfers and when you raise their attention to such transactions, they start shouting and saying they are stars and can't run away. Guess what, they'll leave without paying. You will endup calling their lines and reaching them on Instagram DM.
Some Yoruba actors will buy food at the hotel restaurant and say the bills should be kept at the reception. They will say they will pay the bill at the point of checkout. They will leave the hotel and not come back to properly check out. Most Yoruba actors and actresses are Skippers (people who run away without paying for services rendered at hotels)
Those artists are very dishonest and will be pushing self recognition when you question their transactions. Yourba artists please stop this nonsense.
After running from the hotel and you start calling them, they will start threatening you. They say they are going to post your hotel on social media for bad service. Isn't that a blackmail? You enjoyed a service and didn't complain. But you deliberately owed and ran away. That's their stock-in-trade. You make this bogus allegations without mentioning a single name, your intention is well noted. |

As a person of faith myself, I believe in live and let live. It should not be by force for everyone to share my values and religious beliefs. Waste management is very important.
My final year project was based on waste management.
Design and construction of a solar powered automatic waste bin with an SMS alert system.
When the waste bin is full, the system locks itself and displays the level of the wastebin on the LCD screen attached to the waste bin, preventing anyone from dumping in it. This waste bin also alerts waste management authorities by sending an SMS alert with its location of the bin to waste management authorities from time to time. This looks really good. Why didn't you commercialize this project? You for dey swim inside money right now |
