Perpetual459. Prepare for 9 bags of feeds. That should take them for 5 weeks at 65g/bird/day. The cage to house 100 birds shouldn't be more than 65k. You may need to do a couple of vaccination. Success.

Weight gain in an adult is achieved by good food and good sleep. If an adult is not getting those regularly, asides any pathology that might cause unintentional weight loss(which is another spectrum entirely), he or she might appear to look skinny and be in need of flesh.

Prescriptions have indications. That's how you know a good doctor. He/She always want to have a reason to make a prescription. And not make you spend money you shouldn't spend.

Blood tonic is often prescribed when someone has mild anaemia. Someone that has anaemia would complain of weakness, tiredness, and easy fatigue-which the doctor asked. Since you said he doesn't have those, it is very unlikely he has anaemia even if it's inconclusive - that's why the doctor was "unsure" about recommending a blood tonic.
To me it's not necessary.

I've read your posts. If the person in question, eats well and sleeps well(8 hours max), he'd be okay. Most people that are naturally lean(like myself) have a high metabolism. Working round the clock knocks them off shape into leanness.

Medical practice is very delicate. Ethics shouldn't come in here. the doctor was just being very professional.

When is he taking a holiday? I also recommend that he eats round the clock. Not specific meal time. Which means he should have snacks.

Also, in people that are naturally lean, and often presumed to have a high metabolism, adding "flesh" is mainly by adding muscle. one word - exercises.

Looking skinny is vague. Was he naturally skinny? Maybe he is expending more energy than he is putting in.

Ok. It should be Newcastle Disease then. Place them on some mild antibiotics. Leave a gap of 3 - 5 days after the dosage is completed. Then, give them Lasota. Success.

You can get Abidec multivitamin syrup. Then, place him on diets consisting of soymilk, egg, golden mourn cereal, fruits(like banana, apple, and others) rice, and other good foods you can think of.

Is it safe to eat food item after best before date?

Well expiry date is use for food items as well as non food items. I'd give you examples. Check a bama mayonnaise jar and that Danish cookies can. So that's just to correct your notion.


I'm a food technologist and from what I have learnt in school about packaging.

Best before is used to simply tell the quality of a food. It only means that to get the particular taste one desires from the food it's best consumed before that date and anything after that date might be less fascinating
For example if you buy an orange juice and has a bb date of Feb 2015, it means the colour, taste and aroma remains unchanged but anything after that date you may experience a slight change in taste n colour. A best before tag on a food makes the food still consumable after that date but it will be less appetising.


Now an expiry date shows that the food or the item should not be used as it's no longer fit for consumption. Using such food after its e.d poses threat to ones health. One should never use an item after its expiry date be it food, or cosmetic. There could be unstable elements used in d preparation or preservation that could cause serious damage.

Then to chip in; a food item bought that comes with a 'best stored below 20 degrees Celsius ' doesn't mean it would go bad if stored slightly above that temperature it only means for best results.
