Guys /please before we close part 5, I have a question...

I remember the 1st time I asked a question smiley nobody answered me, I posted again... na laugh they laught at me...lol & I had to search out answers I needed & beg the house to help me confirm if my findings were correct till date because I got it from part 2.

Na beg I beg o! All fingers are not equal, we are not all having it the same...
I got the response & answers I needed.

Anyway,my question is at what point do we request for a wheel chair?
Is it when we take off or when we land or the ticket stand?

And when they wheel us, how about the people that travel with us?
How do they catch up with us being wheeled ahead especially if they are elderly?
Or do they wheel us at the pace we want?

Please o help me first time mum, never needed a wheel chair before.

Thank you guys!
Request prior to your travel date, immediately your ticket is issued. Na only you waka come oo, what's your own with other passengers

Personally, I feel the wheelchair draws too much attention. If you are strong, just skip it

Dear Mama's, please i need some clarifications on US Visa Renewal. In 2015, my Mum and Dad traveled to the US together.

When applying, they applied as a group with she as his dependent using his email address to book an appointment.

Fast forward to today, my mum is to travel alone to the US by January 2018.
After recalling her DS160 form filled in 2015, i got another DS160 confirmation number and updated it with her current details and was successful.

However the bid to schedule an appointment have been failing, whenever i try, it reminds me that her details have been booked with my Dad's email and should be routed through his mail.
Upon using my Dad's email, it comes off as though he is also travelling and usually request for 2 gtb visa fee reference number i.e my dads and mums.

I have tried to delete her as a dependent from my dads details on the "schedule an appointment page" and used another mail address to schedule an appointment for her, but i cant proceed cause it will always state that shes been booked with another email address which is my Dads.

Please, has anyone experienced this before? What do i do? Thank you Mamas for your response.
Call their contact center, they would ask you to provide a new email address and set it up for you to book your mom's appointment; her information would also be moved to this new profile. Have her passport details ready when you call

Please house I have a question. Can the address where I would stay in US be different from the address of my contact person in the US? I would be going to California but my uncle who is my contact person is in Washington DC. This is a renewal application

@nefertitiram

Dear Nef, pls how did you add your infant on KLM. I used a travel Agency to book my ticket. I contacted them and they said it's the airline. Pls I want to know if I can pay the airline over the phone or to pay at the point of departure. Also how much did you pay so I can have an idea. Meanwhile the infant luggage allowance is so pathetic, how did you do Biko? Was it really 10kg as I saw on their website? Thanks a million

If u had bought ticket change it better safe than sorry
Wow! That's pretty scary. I always say it that giving birth in USA goes beyond the citizenship, the healthcare is exceptional and top notch. May her soul RIP. Amen

@olokings I'm presently in the US for another 4 weeks. My son is being breastfed and I mentioned that latching was a nightmare for both of us(you wouldn't know cos you are a man). He feeds and sleeps soundly now that he has his tongue tie released. I'm aware it is free in Nigeria but I would have willingly paid $1,000 for both of us to get respite. He wasn't getting enough milk and my boobs were getting very cracked and painful. I'm glad I did it here and wouldn't change that for nothing. My child's comfort is way more important than cutting costs

Hi Guys, I noticed my son has "tongue tie" (pls google it) right from the delivery room. He wasn't latching well to breastfeed and it was really painful for me. I showed the pediatrician and he did a simple procedure to remove it, cost me $350. The Dr. was really happy that I was observant and spotted it. After the child is about 6months, it becomes a more serious surgery requiring anesthesia. I thank God it went well.

@damidamsel so sorry I haven't responded, been busy with my cutie!
My Stanbic card actually worked as a debit card on the POS machine. You can also try this store called 'Starter Bros', that's if it's in ur locality.

What was weird was that I initially tried to do a POS chargeback and it just didn't go! Kept declining! But the money order worked

Not sure how this works, please enlighten me. Are there options outside moneygram and western union cos even stanbic isn't really doing them again. Please anyone who knows how I can do this biko help a sister.
Go to a Walmart store and request for a money order. They'll ask you for the amount, take $349 (the remaining $1 is to cover the charge). You would then swipe ur card on their POS machine after which you would be issued the money order. It is sort of a blank cheque. You can then pay it into any American account (either yours' or someone you know). It would clear the next day and then you have $350 cash as against just $150 on the atm

Many thanks for the baby greetings!

Try hard while you're in naija to get this PTA oh, what my eyes are seeing ehn! Everyday I have to go out to get cash from the atm just to make sure I meet my monthly withdrawal limit on my naija cards.

Stanbic charges N280 for atm withdrawals.which is the best I've heard of so far (try to open an account with them, even if you don't get PTA they are more affordable for transactions here than the others)

On the Stanbic card you have a monthly limit of $750 (atm withdrawals) $1750 pos and atm withdrawals. So getting that PTA is priceless.

Gtb charged me at N299 to $1 yesterday..never again!
Why don't you try money order. The limit daily is $350 (same as POS) then the charge is only $1 using Stanbic Card

Hi Guys, I got a very sad call this morning. My cousin lost her 3 year old son yesterday. The little boy was playing in their compound with other kids, no-one knew when he left the compound and then stepped on a soak-away slab. The slab was not stable and he fell into the soak-away. Everyone gathered and tried to get him out but unfortunately he had swallowed and inhaled the waste. The poor boy died. I feel so sad and unhappy about this. Pls dear moms, try to be alert towards ur toddlers and kids, one split second can make a world of difference. This is the most heart breaking news I've ever heard Cos I have a 3 year old son myself. May God continue to protect us and our little ones from harm. Amen!

Hi Guys, just wanted to give a rundown of my own experience.
I renewed my visa via Dropbox when I was already 4months pregnant. I sent the letter of intent and got a response.
I left Lagos via KLM at 34weeks+! Lagos-Amsterdam-Los Angeles(LAX).I wasn't asked for fit to fly though I had from my hospital. I also requested for wheel chair (it made all the difference in the world)
For my burden of proof i had: $10,000 cash, receipt of payment made to the hospital for $1,500,Doctor's appointment letter, estimated budget sheet, return ticket, 6 months account statement(N1.6m balance), 3 months payslip, Letter of Introduction from my employer and Maternity leave document from my office portal.
I was wheeled to the CBP and this is my transcript.
CBP: what are you here for?
Me: To have my Baby
CBP: How long are you here for?
Me: 10weeks
CBP:How far along are you?
Me: 8 and half months
CBP: how much time did you take off work?
Me: 12 weeks
CBP: Why the U.S. and not Canada?
Me: I want the best healthcare for my child
CBP:How much do you have with you?
Me: $10,000
CBP: Is that going to be enough?
Me: I have $7,500 in my account and I've paid part of my hospital bill already
CBP: Did you inform the embassy you were going to have a baby?
Me: I renewed my visa via Dropbox, however I sent an email informing the embassy of my intentions (passes the email to him and he read it)
(He checks his system)
CBP: You were to stay with a relative at Washington DC from your visa renewal, why are you in California?
Me: My uncle is presently back home in Nigeria so I had to change my plans(which is the truth)
CBP: who would you be staying with in Carlifornia?
Me: My family friend
CBP: where do you work?
Me: Bla Bla Bla
(He kept typing and typing and then he says I need to go for secondary inspection to verify my documents as he wont have the time to do so)

At secondary inspection, I sat for about 20minutes and I was called.
The CBP basically asked the same questions as above and also if anyone would be joining me, I told him my mother would join me. He asked what I do in my place of work and how long I've worked there, I told him. I then showed him all of my burden of proof and he took the time to look through them. He asked how I came about the estimates for the bills in my budget sheet, I told him i made phone calls from Nigeria. He asked of my husband and child and I told him they are back home in Nigeria. He was very polite and cordial. He then typed and typed for a long while after which he said I shouldn't accept any medical aid and I should hold all my receipts anytime I come into the U.S. I got stamped in for 6months.

I have to add that the CBP inspectors at LAX were very professional and cordial. Also come with as many documents as necessary.

I brought Crayfish, dry fish, stock fish head, egusi, spices knorr, curry and pepper. Nothing was seized!
