CelebritiesKiss Daniel Placed On A 30k Monthly Salary | See Details by Petercious133(op): 8:23am On Dec 13, 2017

Yeba crooner, Kiss Daniel is currently involved in a legal battle with his one-time record label, G-Worldwide. Their case is already in court has been pretty messy of late.

Kiss Daniel’s solicitors, L&A Legal Consultants just made some revealing facts in a 6 page transmission.

See below

Kiss Daniel did not walk out of his contract. He only terminated it as he is permitted to do under the contract. Is it now a sin for a party to exercise a right expressly conferred on him by law/contract? Is it the fault of Kiss Daniel that the contract has a termination clause that allows Kiss Daniel to terminate the contract? We should bear in mind that the contract was drafted by G-Worldwide Entertainment. Kiss Daniel scrupulously followed the provision of the contract. It is unfortunate that people are mixing this case up with that of other artists running away from a contract they signed. No! This is different. This is a case of an Artist insisting that the contract signed by the parties must be obeyed and enforced. Kiss Daniel is firm believer in rule of law and due process. This was why it was Kiss Daniel that went to court first. People should not confuse a case of properly terminated contract with cases of ill-advised artists who angrily walked out of their contract without following the laid down procedure under their contracts. Kiss Daniel’s case is a well thought out act. It is an exercise of right granted to him by the contract between him and his label. What do people want from Nigerian artist? If they don’t employ lawyers, people criticize them. Now that Kiss Daniel has employed one of the best I.P. law firm in Nigeria with a Professor of I.P. and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), people are still calling him names for acting in accordance with his contract! When Artist don’t obey or assert their rights under their contracts, people abused them, yet the same people are abusing Kiss Daniel for obeying and enforcing the Termination Clause provided in his contract! Na wa o. This is not a Kiss Daniel’s fight alone. This is a fight for all Nigerian artists except we are saying only artists must obey and comply with contract but record label are free to do as they wish?
Finance: Why is G-Worldwide afraid to grant Kiss Daniel unrestricted access to his account and books as provided by the contract? The whole relationship between a record label and an artist is about making money and sharing it. Finance and money is the crux of the matter. G-Worldwide did not sign Kiss Daniel because they love his face. They signed him because they think he can make money for them. And there is nothing wrong with that as long as they play by the rules. The only offence commented by Kiss Daniel was his effrontery/impudence by daring to ask his record label to render account! Kiss Daniel through his lawyer L & A – Legal Consultant appointed a firm of Chartered Accountant to inspect and audit G- Worldwide Entertainments books and account in respect of Kiss Daniel’s project as provided by the contract between the parties.

Immediately the request was made, all hell was let loose. Why will a Record Label be afraid to allow their Artist to inspect their books of record? Especially, when the contract between the parties was drafted by the same record label and the contract contains a clause which specifically provided that the Record Label shall keep all accounts and shall allow the Artist or his representative unrestricted access to inspect and make copies of the records. See clause 7 of the contract between the parties which provide;

“Company shall maintain proper accounting books and or records at its principal office, in relation to revenue generated, or expenditure expended in the course of the performance of this Agreement. Such books and or records shall include, but shall not be limited to, any documents or records which evidence the receipt and or disbursements of royalties and other monies generated in the course of the performance of the Agreement.

The Artist shall, at any time during the term of this Agreement and upon prior written notice to Company, Artist or his/her designated representative shall gain unrestricted access to inspect the books and records of the Company relating to this Agreement and shall be entitled to make copies thereof.”

Based on above, Kiss Daniel’s lawyer wrote to G-Worldwide on the 18th of July 2017 saying thus:

“This is to inform you that in accordance with the Recording Contract between the parties, our client wishes to send his Accountants (WYZE Associates) to inspect/audit his accounts with your client.

Kindly confirm your convenient date from next week when the Accountants can come in for the inspection/audit.”

Of course they failed/refused to respond to the above email and only responded on the 25th of July 2017 (after several reminders) saying: saying:

“I somehow missed your initial email. Apologies. I will discuss your request with my client and will revert with a response before CoB tomorrow.”

As usual, they failed to respond on the 26th of July 2017 as promised and Kiss Daniel’s lawyers had to send another reminder by way of email and telephone call before they finally responded on the 1st of August 2017 saying:

“Regarding the date for the “audit”, can we agree on a date in late August or early September? An earlier date will not be ideal- Emperor Geezy is getting married on Saturday and will be unavailable for some time after the wedding (for obvious reasons).”

And Kiss Daniel’s lawyers responded by saying:

“It is our understanding that we are dealing with a company (G-World Entertainment Ltd) and not an individual. Therefore, the unavailability of Emperor Geezy would not affect the audit. Please note that the audit will only involve G World Accountants and our Accountants. Therefore, the presence of Emperor Geezy is not very important at this stage. In view of the above, we can schedule the audit to an earlier date. Kindly confirm when our Accountants can come for the audit within this week or next week.”

Is G-worldwide Entertainment Limited a proper record label? Is it a proper limited liability company? Or is it merely a one man show without corporate structure, office and supporting staff? Can anybody name the A & R officer of G-worldwide Entertainment Limited?

Anyway, G-worldwide Entertainments Limited responded by creating a new excuse when they stated thus in their email of 4th of August 2017:

“While the company is happy to assist your client’s accountants with their audit request, unfortunately due to ongoing activities involving the relevant company’s personnel, the time proposed by you will not be convenient for the company (whose assistance you require to carry out the audit).

In the circumstance, we suggest that we should agree on a day in the last week of August for the audit exercise. We will wait for you to propose a specific date during the said period for the audit.”

Even though it was clear to Kiss Daniel and his team that G-worldwide Entertainments Limited was trying to frustrate the inspection/audit, they

went ahead to conceded to the end of the month proposed by G- worldwide Entertainments Limited and sent them a mail on the on the 7th of August 2017 saying:

“Our accountants will be available on 28th and 29th August 2017 for the audit. Kindly confirm that the dates. Also confirm your client’s address.”

Again, G-worldwide Entertainments Limited failed/refused to confirm the dates for the inspection or the venue as requested and after several reminders they only on the 28th of August 2017, which is one of the dates fixed for the inspection and agreed to the 29th of August 2017 for the said inspection/audit. Thereby giving Kiss Daniel and his team less than 24 hours’ notice and which means the audit can only be done in one day instead of two dates proposed. Of course, any experience person knows that such audit can hardly be completed in one day. It was all a grand design to frustrate the audit.

Unfortunately, when the inspection/audit finally held, Kiss Daniel’s Accountant was denied unrestricted access to the “books/records” in clear breach of the unambiguous provisions of clause 7 of the Contract (as posted above). Kiss Daniel’s Accountant were surprised that Label did not come to the venue of the inspection/audit with any physical books, receipts, invoices e.t.c. but only brought a mere laptop! And even refused to allow Kiss Daniel’s Accountant to make a copy of the said “books/records” contrary to the contract. It was also discovered that the representative sent by G-worldwide Entertainment Limited and who brought the laptop is not an accountant and did not know anything about the transactions recorded in the laptop. He could not answer any of the questions/queries posted to him by Kiss Daniel’s Accountant.

Based on the above breaches (failure to allow unrestricted access and to make copies of the books of account as provided in clause 7 of the Record contract), Kiss Daniel’s lawyers gave G-worldwide Entertainment Limited 14 days’ notice to remedy the breach as provided by Clause 16 of the Contract and when they failed to do so within the 14days, the Artist through his lawyer proceeded to terminate the contract as provided in clause 14.2 of the contract, which provides that:

“Either party may terminate this contract by written notice to the other at any time if that other party:

(a)commits a breach of this contract and, in the case of a breach capable of remedy, he fails to remedy the breach within fourteen (14) days of being required to do so in writing.”

Unfortunately, when Kiss Daniel’s lawyer gave G-worldwide Entertainments Limited notice of the breach on 11th and 19th of September 2017, G-worldwide Entertainments Limited failed and refused to cure and remedy the breach within the 14 days allowed by the contract and Kiss Daniel was forced to comply with the contract by terminating it as required by the contract.

This termination therefore was not only in obedience to law and the contract between the parties but was also a self defence by Kiss Daniel to prevent “baboon dey work, monkey dey chop”. Why is G-worldwide Entertainments Limited afraid of rendering accounts? Should Kiss Daniel continue to work under G-worldwide Entertainments Limited and receive whatever was giving to him without allowing his accountant to audit the books? Is it an offence for an artist to enforce the rights granted him by the contract drafted by the Record label?

Contract or Slavery? This is the same label that forced Kiss Daniel to perform few days after his father’s death and while still in the village trying to give his father a befitting burial. They put money first. They insisted he must interrupt his father burial rites and must perform or they will crush him in the industry. This is the same Label that was paying Kiss Daniel only 30k and later 50k per month for about two years despite Kiss Daniel’s performing at several shows and making millions of naira for the label within the same period! Yet, Kiss Daniel never create any noise or scandal. How many Nigerian Artist can tolerate for so long what Kiss Daniel has endured without creating any scandal?
Is G-Worldwide A Record Label? What is the main characteristic of a record label? One of the main duty of a record label is to advance money to the artist for purposes of recording. Yet the so called record label does not pay advance and as never pay advance to Kiss Daniel.

The so called record label did not pay a penny (kobo) towards the recording of all songs in the alleged album, “Evolution”! The songs in the alleged album include already released hits like “sofa”, “Yeba” and several others. No payment of advance, no payment for studio sessions or productions generally and yet G-Worldwide are shamelessly laying claim to songs produced singlehandedly by the Artist. He is indeed a patient dog.

PoliticsOkorocha Laments Atiku’s Exit, Faults Tinubu On Buhari’s Ticket by Petercious133(op): 7:22am On Dec 13, 2017
Source:- http://www.exclusivepp.com.ng/okorocha-laments-atikus-exit-faults-tinubu-buharis-ticket/

The Imo State Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, has said the exit of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar from the ruling All Progressives Congress is not a good development for the party.

Atiku, a former Vice-President, defected recently from the ruling party to the Peoples Democratic Party.

Okorocha spoke with journalists after he received an honorary doctorate degree at the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State on Saturday. He described Abubakar as a heavyweight politician.

He said, “I have taken a holistic view of our party, it (Atiku’s exit) is not the best because no matter how anybody thinks, Atiku carries some political weight. His leaving our party is not the best.”

The Imo State Governor, however, noted that since Atiku had decided to move on politically by going to another political party, the APC would make amends and his (Atiku) place would be filled up accordingly.

Reacting to the recent statement credited to the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, which said there would be no automatic ticket for President Muhammadu Buhari for the 2019 presidential election, against the position of the APC governors, Okorocha maintained that he would support Buhari for a second term.

The chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum had earlier said all the governors would support the sole candidacy of President Buhari in the 2019 election but Tinubu disagreed insisting that the APC’s presidential candidate must emerge through a primary.

Okorocha said, “The (Tinubu’s) statement came to me as a surprise; come to think of it, I never referred to him. I referred to the governors of Nigeria, including the PDP governors and I said only one or two of them had not joined yet.

“Since I made the statement, no governor has said something contrary to what I said. I am surprised that Asiwaju will now be speaking for the governors. He looks like somebody crying more than the bereaved. I did not see reason for the statement actually. But he commands my respect and I don’t want to take issue with the national leader of my party.

“What I mentioned was for the governors and secondly what I said is support. The word I use is support that does not mean there will not be a primary. Governors can only contribute 37 votes; we still have over 5,000 votes up there. What I was talking about was about governors. I was not talking about other party members. Governors alone do not determine the standard bearer of a party.”

PoliticsI’m The Best To Succeed Ajimobi – Deputy Gov by Petercious133(op): 7:13am On Dec 13, 2017
Source:- http://www.exclusivepp.com.ng/im-best-succeed-ajimobi-deputy-gov/

The Oyo State Deputy Governor, Moses Alake, has declared that he is the best to succeed Governor Abiola Ajimobi when the incumbent’s tenure expires in 2019.

Alake explained that after examining the profiles of others, who had earlier declared their interest in the office, he realised that he was the most suitable for the job in 2019.

The deputy governor made his intention known at the state All Progressives Congress’ secretariat in Ibadan on Tuesday.

He said he had the basic experience to become the next governor of the state having served in various political offices before becoming the state’s deputy governor six years ago.

The people of Oke Ogun, where Alake hails from, are agitating to produce the next state governor.

Alake stated, “The governor has performed very well and there is a need to continue his good and quality work. As a loyal party man, who has been in the progressives fold all my life, from the days of the Action Group, the Social Democratic Party and now, the All Progressives Congress, I have enough experience to succeed the governor.”

The APC chairman in the state, Akin Oke, commended Alake for coming up to declare his intention.

He however said the party would go through the normal process of choosing its candidate at the appropriate time.

PoliticsHow My Friend Surprisingly Sent Me N200million – Amaechi by Petercious133(op): 6:46am On Dec 12, 2017
Source:- http://www.exclusivepp.com.ng/friend-surprisingly-sent-n200million-amaechi/

The Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, has urged Nigerians in his political circle to rededicate themselves and restore their commitment to God ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has said for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to win the 2019 general election, leaders and members of the party must go back to God in prayers and thanksgiving.

He also urged members in his political circle to re-dedicate themselves and restore their commitment to God.

Amaechi, a former Governor of Rivers State, stated these in Port Harcourt, while speaking of his miraculous inauguration as governor on October 26, 2007, after the landmark judgment of the Supreme Court that declared him the duly elected governor of the state.

The special thanksgiving service was arranged to mark the 10th anniversary of the apex court’s judgement.

With former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar’s recent defection from the APC to the Peoples Democratic Party, some members of the opposition PDP have urged Amaechi to also return to their fold.

Amaechi re-lived his ordeal in 2007 and how God showed up for him when all odds were against him.

“The truth is that we believed God. Some who didn’t believe left us just as they are leaving now. God told me that what he will do in Rivers State will tingle the ears, and I believed.

“We were so broke, we could not pay legal fees or children’s school fees. My wife prayed every day and night. I was fasting and praying for 3 months. I told God ‘I have a friend who has money, please make him remember me.’

“I called my friend and he told me he has been looking for me. I told him I was in Ghana and he asked for my account… He sent me Two hundred million naira. This is just to tell you that I believed God and he answered me,” Amaechi said.

He wondered why many of his friends and political associates whom he helped one way or the other have turned on him. But he said that it is God’s way of creating a vacuum for the youths to take charge.

He also advised the youth to be of help to people around them when they are in positions of power.

“We must all go back to God in faith and prayers. Those who want to leave can go. I have come to understand that God passes us through these challenges to prove himself. Now that they have left, for me, this is an opportunity for the youths. It is your turn. You must ensure that we get to power for you to fill the vacuum left.

“I have sometimes asked God, ‘why do you use me to bless people and after blessing them, they run away.’ Count how many people in Rivers State politics today that I did not help somehow. I don’t want to take the glory away from God. So for those who left, may God bless them.

“When you get your own appointment, also put somebody. Allow God to use you and leave the rest all up to him,” Amaechi advised.

On the 2019 elections, he continued, “if we don’t pray, 2019 will be very far from us. If we don’t win 2019, it would be your fault, not anybody else. We go to God because he answers. We pray, then go home and work. Back then, even in my father’s house in the village there was a prayer team…”

Family7 Sure Signs That Shows You’re Dating Is A Player by Petercious133(op): 6:33am On Dec 12, 2017
Source:- http://www.exclusivepp.com.ng/7-sure-signs-shows-youre-dating-player/

”Players gonna play, and you just have to shake it off”

Players and cheaters are a relationship nightmare especially when the significant other is truly committed. Most people have probably had the unfortunate privilege of meeting, dating, and trying to avoid them at all costs. Just because you might prepare yourself for the thunderstorm and pack your umbrella, doesn’t mean you won’t get wet.

Players often hide behind the guise of a nice, honest gentleman, who will treat you with nothing but respect. But the minute you let your guard down and let him into your life, you’ll start to get that nagging suspicion that something’s not right. Before you even know it, you’ve been played, dumped and left heartbroken in one fell swoop.
How you can see if you’re about to get played by the guy you like!

Here are 7 of those telltale signs to help you.

#1. Wandering eyes

You don’t have to be dating a guy to tell if he’s probably a player. At the gym recently, I witnessed first-hand a guy turn to check out a girl’s butt who was walking in front of me, to then see him turn back around, face me, and smirk. You know the kind of smirk basically saying “‘sup girl” without actually saying it?

When I see guys with their girlfriends, or married men walking behind their wives at the mall, who literally think they are slick when they turn around to check a girl out, words like disgusting, pathetic and slime come to mind. As women, we all know the whole look-over-the-shoulder-neck-turn-checkout routine, and it’s not slick!

The point is, if you have any type of connection that is more than just friends, and you catch his wandering eyes checking out other girls in front of you, don’t waste any more of your time on him. Chances are, he’ll do more than just stare when you’re not watching.

#2. “Parents love him.” If you’re talking to a guy who says something like “parents love me!” then you should immediately know he’s good at saying all the right things, or so he thinks. A guy that says parents love him is saying he’s in control, that he knows all the right things to say and it’s a walk in the park for him.

It could get you wondering why he has to affirm this, when you can get a chance to witness it firsthand. The mere fact that he has to declare this “talent” to you can signal that he’s better at announcing it than proving it.

#3. He tunes in and out often

Have you been talking to a guy that will be blowing your phone up constantly one day, and then you suddenly won’t hear from him for over 24 hours? Do not think for a single minute that you should check up on him, sending him texts letting him know you’re worried because you haven’t heard from him.

He’s not hurt, he’s not been captured by zombies, he’s not been taken by aliens, and he’s not stranded somewhere on the side of the road without cell phone service. He’s not responding because you either said something extremely offensive, in which case you should review your previous conversation, or he’s out there with his philandering ways.

Cheating in a relationship

#4. Strong and fast

It’s one thing to feel you might be falling in love with someone you recently started dating. It’s another to actually say “I love you” to that someone. If you are dating a guy, or have been talking to a guy for a very short amount of time, and he’s already told you he’s in love with you, he wants to marry you, surprises you with some random ass piece of jewelry, or anything else that feels like the setup of a Lifetime movie, then you are dating a player.

If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Don’t give it up to the guy telling you stupid things like he’s in love with you and wants to marry you within just days of knowing each other. It’s those smooth words that get the players laid.

#5. He’s cheated before

Once a cheater, always a cheater. Personally, I’ve been cheated on, but I never stayed with the loser to find out if he would and will always be a cheater. If you have recently started dating a guy, and you know his last relationship ended because he cheated, the probability of him cheating again is pretty high.

If you happen to be the “other woman,” you know, the girl he cheated on his last girlfriend with, the probability of him cheating on you is even higher. Seriously, what’s to stop him from cheating on you, when he cheated on his last girlfriend with you? If something looks like a duck, walks like a duck, acts like a duck… You know, it’s a duck.

#6. He won’t be your friend on social media

If you are dating a guy who says he’s never friends with any girls he dates on Facebook, or that he doesn’t even know why he has an account because he doesn’t even use Facebook, or any other lame excuse where he’s trying to justify you two not being friends and connected on social media, he’s a player.

If you are dating a guy who actually likes you, I can assure you he will have no problem being friends with you on Facebook. After all, it will make communication easier, right? If you spot him changing his display picture, despite him insisting he doesn’t go on Facebook, then that’s a huge red flag right there.

#7. Maybe all the time

If you’re talking to guy and he always replies with things like “I’ll see,” or “Hmm, maybe” after you’ve asked him if he wants to hang out later, or tomorrow, or even next week, then you are dealing with a player. That’s because he’s probably not sure if he’ll be out on any dates with other women during those times, so he’s keeping you hanging until he gets bored.

Getting played sucks, so it’s better off to back off from the players before you end up getting hurt. Use these techniques to spot a player, so you can keep him at a distance

BusinessHow To Hire The Right Employees by Petercious133(op): 6:59am On Dec 11, 2017
Source:- http://www.exclusivepp.com.ng/hire-right-employees/

Incidents of workplace crime have become a growing and worrying trend in Nigeria. Successive governments at the federal, state and local government levels have tried to battle the plague of over-bloated payrolls grossly populated by ghost workers with various degrees of success.

Just recently, the Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, announced that the Federal Government had saved N120bn over a 10-year period; money that would have been otherwise lost to ghost workers and acts of fiscal irresponsibility by civil service personnel.

With the advent of online marketplaces, the problem has taken an even more sinister turn. In April 2015, Nigerians were left apprehensive with the shocking news of one Mary Akinloye, a rogue nanny who abducted the three children of her employers, barely 24 hours after being employed.

Akinloye and her accomplices demanded N15m ransom for the boys’ release. It was only after the police rounded up the criminals that the nanny’s identity was discovered. Her real name was Funmilayo Adeyemi, a career kidnapper allegedly married to a kidnap kingpin. Their mode of operation was to help her secure employment as a domestic help in affluent households, after which she would kidnap the family’s children for ransom. She had been recruited through a popular e-Commerce platform.

Funmilayo/Mary’s employers had demanded for passport photographs, details of residential address, work history and guarantors. These information, coupled with a fear-filled public anxiously passing on her details via their mobile phones and other Internet-enabled devices, helped the police recover the kids and arrest the culprits. But what if the identities of Hakeem and Funmilayo had been verified before employment? It would definitely have saved the families involved the stress and sometimes irreplaceable loss that comes with hiring a criminal staff.

VerifyMe is a deterrent and preventative measure. When employees are aware that they have been identified with captured biometrics on a system that checks against multiple government and private sector data points, and their employers have the ability to report on their unchangeable record in the event of crime, the employee will act more responsibly.

VerifyMe Nigeria is an employment history reporting and verification solution that has been designed to curb workplace crime, provide additional security in homes, and enable business to employ the right resources.

The founder and Chief Executive Officer, VerfyMe Nigeria, Mr. Tunji Oluwole, said, “Prior to our emergence on the scene, the standard practice was for employers and recruitment agencies to screen workers based on information supplied by the workers themselves.”

He said, “This creates a credibility gap, as people will naturally proffer information that benefits their interests. As a result, insightful data is lost along the way, which the employer and sometimes even the worker, eventually pays for in unpleasant circumstances.”

Studies by the United States’ Bureau of Justice Statistics, among other similar research findings, revealed that 77 per cent of individuals arrested for a crime were arrested for a new crime within five years of the previous incident. This is irrespective of whether the individual attended a rehabilitation programme or not. The implication of this for business and even people employing blue-collar labour, particularly at the home front, is that in the event that the employee is a criminal, there is a high likelihood of the crime being repeated if they see an opportunity.

Since inception four years ago, VerifyMe Nigeria has had a few experiences. A few years ago, a children’s camp hired an ad hoc staff for its summer school programme. After the programme, a parent reported that he had discovered lewd photos in their child’s phone, allegedly sent to the child by one of the chaperones. The camp administrator reported the matter to the company in a bid to track the predator and keep him from working with children. Soon, the individual was traced to a school in the outskirts of Lagos but he escaped before he could be apprehended. The case is being investigated by the security agencies as the company’s operations are currently confined to the Lagos area.

Oluwole disclosed that the solution was available across Nigeria and subsequently Africa, to make it harder for rogue workers to thrive across the continent while model employees have an expanded market to sell themselves.

According to him, the idea is to get employers to register their workers on the VerifyMe Nigeria portal, “so we have a unified database of workers which in turn eliminates ghost workers and other human capital risks.”

He added, “With their smartphones, tablets or other Internet-enabled devices, employers and recruiters can immediately verify the backgrounds of candidates when they present themselves for employment and thereby, enshrine a culture of transparency and accountability in the workforce, right from the point of hire. So it’s harder for criminals to get employed in the first place.”

A database expert, Mr. Esigie Aguele, said, “Every worker on the VerifyMe Nigeria database is given a unique identification number on registration, which is tied to an employer.”

He added, “Potential employers can then access the worker’s work history with their unique ID to verify their identity and work history reports by previous employers. This enables them to make informed hiring decisions best and most secure option rather than depend on the information presented by the candidates themselves. Additionally, our portal leverages on government data points for a unified identity verification across the country.”

SportsJoshua Set For Mega Fight With Parker by Petercious133(op): 6:44am On Dec 11, 2017
Source:- http://www.exclusivepp.com.ng/joshua-set-mega-fight-parker/

NEGOTIATIONS between Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker are “going good” as they attempt to finalise a bumper unification fight for Cardiff on March 31, according to The Sun.

New Zealander Parker, the WBO heavy world champion, is set to meet the British boxing star and WBA and IBF title holder at the Principality Stadium in the Welsh capital.

And the 25-year-old Parker has stated that talks are at an advanced stage.

Speaking to ESPN, he said, “I think the Joshua fight can go ahead early next year when both teams are locked in and happy.

“When we can find a free date, a time in March, then we can definitely make it happen.

“Negotiations are going good. I think we’re close to locking something in. They’re stuck at 30 per cent (of the split), we’re stuck at 35 so it’s just finding the middle ground.

“We’ll take 35 percent which means Joshua will take 65, which is nearly double me, so I think that’s a fair deal because he’s the bigger draw card and he’s has two belts, and I have one.

“I think that’s reasonable and fair.

“I think we’re very close. I’m excited as it’s a chance to showcase my skills in the UK more.”

Parker and his camp are confident that they can cause a huge upset against the undefeated English golden boy once they finally get inside the ring.

SportsI’m The Best Player In The History Of Football – Ronaldo Declares by Petercious133(op): 6:07am On Dec 10, 2017
Source:- http://www.exclusivepp.com.ng/im-best-player-history-football-ronaldo-declares/

Cristiano Ronaldo says he is the “best player in history” after winning his fifth Ballon d’Or on Thursday, according to a report by SkySports.

The Real Madrid forward scooped the award, which is organised by magazine France Football, for the fifth time to tie level with Lionel Messi’s tally.

Ronaldo, who helped his side win the Champions League and La Liga last season, also won the best male player prize at the 2017 Best Fifa Football Awards in October, and believes he is now the greatest to have played the game.

“I’m the best player in history, in the good moments and the bad ones,” he told France Football. “I respect everyone’s preferences, but I’ve never seen anyone better than me. I have always thought that. No footballer can do the things I can. There’s no player more complete than me.

“I play well with both feet, I’m quick, powerful, good with the head, I score goals, I make assists. There are guys who prefer Neymar or (Lionel) Messi. But I tell you: there’s no-one more complete than me.

“No one has won as many individual trophies as me. And I’m not speaking just of the Ballon d’Or. That says something, doesn’t it? It’s not just a result of the work I do in the gym, like some people think. It’s the sum of many things.

“Legends like Floyd Mayweather and LeBron James don’t get to their perfect level by chance. Many factors coincide. To be at the top and to stay there, you have to have more talent than the others.”

Ronaldo admitted he was “sad and angry” when Messi scooped the Ballon d’Or on four consecutive occasions from 2009 to 2012, and said he had no interest in going to ceremonies to accept second place.

“I won the Ballon d’Or before Messi, then he overtook me and won four in a row. I’m not going to hide from you that I was sad and angry,” he said.

“I went to the award ceremonies and I never won. At one point, I was even demotivated. I had no desire to go. To be there for the photo didn’t interest me.

“Then, little by little, thanks to those close to me, I told myself that in life there is a beginning and an end. And in football what counts is the finish, not the start. I was patient. And I won four other Ballon d’Or’s.”

CelebritiesI Am Multi-talented – Comedian Woli Arole by Petercious133(op): 5:52am On Dec 10, 2017
Source:- http://www.exclusivepp.com.ng/multi-talented-comedian-woli-arole/

Popular Nigerian comedian Oluwatoyin Bayegun better known as Woli Arole is going a step higher with his first ever feature length movie ‘The Call’ which will be hitting the cinemas in 2018.

The comedian who has successfully carved a niche for himself in the comedy zone, with his distinctive style of comic delivery doesn’t seem to be satisfied with the creativity he has displayed on the entertainment scene.

In an exclusive chat with Potpourri, he gave reasons he is going into movie production:

“I’ve been into movies for a while but I just decided to up my game and evolve, I’m beyond what people see. I could be serious, a businessman and have the mind of an entrepreneur but if I keep doing things the way I do them, I’ll just be a jester. So I felt I need to do something more serious. I want people to see this part of me that is value channeled. I am multi-talented and multi-faceted,” he said.

Continuing, he said “What really inspired ‘The Call’ is that I realized a man cannot just be created for creation sake, there has to be a reason. I decided to use a tricky title ‘Call’. What is the purpose of being alive? Who called you? Who is the caller? Who is the receiver? How do you know you are called? So these are the questions the movie will answer and I’ve had this dream for years, I didn’t just come up with it all of a sudden,” he emphasized.

The movie which has commenced shooting in Ibadan will feature an array of Nollywood stars such as Yinka Quadri, Hafeez Oyetoro ‘Saka’, Samuel Ajibola, Kayode ‘Aderupoko’ Olaiya, Segun Arinze, Asiri, Ebiye and comedienne, Etinosa Idemudia among others.

CelebritiesWhy I Am Always Hard On Myself – Banky W by Petercious133(op): 8:08am On Dec 09, 2017
Source:- http://www.exclusivepp.com.ng/always-hard-banky-w/

After successfully carving a niche for himself in the music industry, popular singer Bankole Wellington, fondly referred to as Banky W, has crossed over to the world of acting and he is already gaining grounds there as well.

In a chat with Saturday Beats, the singer noted that the only reason he is able to achieve such strides is simply that he is his biggest critic. He said that regardless of how anyone rates his performances, they are never good enough for him.

The singer added that failure to criticise his works could lead to the end of his career.

He said, “Anybody that has paid attention to my music videos would know that I have had this flirtatious love affair with the movie-making business because most of my videos are short films. I tend to tell stories with my music videos because I have always been a storyteller. In fact, from my younger days, I always considered myself as a writer before I saw myself as a singer or an actor. In that sense, watching myself on the screen was not much of a surprise because I have been flirting with it for a long time.

“I try to be my biggest critic and I consider myself as such. That is how I am about my music and businesses. I feel that the day you are satisfied with your performance and job, it is the beginning of the end because you would start to become complacent. I am always harsh on myself. So, even people think I have done a good job; I try to look at the one area that I can improve on. While I really love Wedding Party 1, I feel there were things I could have improved on. It is the same thing with the second part; I watch the movie and I look for my mistakes. I have not even started to watch the film yet; instead, I am looking for where I made mistakes. That is just the way that I am as an entertainer and performer.”

Apparently, the singer seems to be taking the acting gig seriously and this baffles most of his fans who believe that his involvement in movies would rob them of his music.

Allaying their fears, the singer told Saturday Beats that being an extremely ambitious person; he doubted if film-making would affect his music career.

Banky W said, “People who know me well know that I am a very ambitious person; I am ambitious to a fault and I feel like I can do anything. I dream big and I would literally work my fingers to the bone so I have no plans to rob my fans of my music. My music career is still going on and I cannot quit it for acting. I am still releasing Running After You, featuring Nonso Amadi, ‘What you doing tonight’ and ‘Love you Baby’, which was produced by Cobhams. The videos would be out as well.”

Speaking about his recent project, The Wedding Party 2, the singer turned actor simply said, “It is a slight departure from the first feature. The Wedding Party 2 focuses primarily on the accidental proposal and subsequent wedding of returning characters, ‘Nonso Onwuka’ and ‘ Deardre Winston’, played by Enyinna Nwigwe and Daniella Down. Fans will see the hilarious consequences of their cross-cultural marriage unfold and catch up with the lives of their favourite characters. Banky W and Adesua Etomi are ‘Dozie’ and ‘Dunni’, Ali Baba and Sola Sobowale are ‘Bam-Bam’ and ‘Tin-Tin Coker’, Richard Mofe-Damijo and Ireti Doyle are ‘Felix and Obianuju Onwuka’ and Patience Ozokwor is ‘Adanna’, a feisty new addition to the cast,” he said.

PoliticsUPDATE: Return To PDP, Atiku Begs Defectors by Petercious133(op): 7:59am On Dec 06, 2017
Source:- http://www.exclusivepp.com.ng/update-return-pdp-atiku-begs-defectors/

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has asked politicians who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to other parties to return.

He said there “is no other political party” in the country apart from the PDP.

Atiku spoke in Abuja on Tuesday when he paid a courtesy call on the national leadership of the party at its national secretariat in Abuja.

The former Vice-President had resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress about a week ago without joining any other political party.

But on Sunday, he announced that he had returned to the PDP, which he left in 2014 with others to form the APC.

While leaving the PDP then, he had said that the APC would be his “last bus stop”, vowing never to return to the former ruling party.

Accompanied by his loyalists and praise signers, Atiku who had never hidden his desire to be the President of Nigeria, swallowed his words as he heaped praises on the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee of the PDP for remaining steadfast.

He said he was very grateful to the leadership of the party for granting him the opportunity to visit the party despite the tight schedule of its leaders.

He said, “I like to thank you very much indeed for this privilege and opportunity granted me to do so, realising that this is a very busy for you.

“All what I have come to do today is to come and show my face. Many people have read in the media that I have returned home. This is home.

“Mr. Chairman, I want to congratulate you for a wonderful work which you have been doing to redeem the image of this party, to return it, rebrand it and return it to its original form.

“I want to assure you of my support and cooperation at all times, to make sure that these objectives are achieved by you and subsequently by your successors.”

BusinessNigeria’s Balance Sheet Remains Exposed To Further Shocks – Moody’s by Petercious133(op): 6:59am On Dec 06, 2017
Source:- http://www.exclusivepp.com.ng/nigerias-balance-sheet-remains-exposed-shocks-moodys/

Barely one month after one of the global rating agencies, Moody’s Investors Service, downgraded Nigeria’s sovereign debt rating, the agency has said the country’s balance sheet remains exposed to further shocks.

Moody’s had on November 8 downgraded Nigeria’s long-term issuer and senior unsecured debt rating to ‘B2’ from ‘B1’. The Federal Government, however, rejected the rating.

As a follow-up to the earlier rating, Moody’s on Monday released its annual credit analysis report, stating that Nigeria’s ‘B2 stable’ credit profile was constrained by the continued exposure of the sovereign balance sheet to shocks, weak institutions and elevated deficits.

In a statement by the rating agency, the Vice-President/Senior Credit Officer, and co-author of the report, Aurélien Mali, was quoted as saying, “Only a durable increase in non-oil revenue will improve Nigeria’s resilience to oil price volatility and increase the realisation rates of capital spending on the large infrastructure projects that are crucial for Nigeria’s economic development.

“Until it does, the government’s balance sheet will remain exposed to further shocks. Deficits will remain elevated and debt affordability will remain challenged.

“This exposure will persist, despite recent improvements in the economy, which are primarily cyclical and related to the strengthening of the oil sector.”

According to Moody’s, Nigeria’s economy continues to adjust to the loss of more than 50 per cent of its foreign currency earnings.

The report read in part, “The continuing recovery in oil production underpins Nigeria’s more robust medium-term prospects. With a rebalanced economy, Moody’s anticipates that a further consolidation of Nigeria’s economic fundamentals will strengthen the recovery, with real growth of 3.3 per cent in 2018 and 4.5 per cent in 2019.

“Nigeria’s ranks near the bottom of many international surveys assessing institutional strength and its scores are among the weakest within Moody’s rated universe.”

The rating agency noted that the sharp decline in oil prices from mid-2014 severely weakened Nigeria’s public finances.

It said the general government revenue halved to 5.3 per cent in 2016 from 10.5 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product in 2014.

Since late 2015, Moody’s said the Nigerian authorities had stepped up efforts to increase non-oil revenue in response to a significant deterioration in public finances.

The report further read, “Moody’s projects a general government budget deficit of 3.6 per cent of the GDP in 2017, down from 4.7 per cent in 2016. In 2018, the deficit will decline only slightly, to 3.2 per cent of GDP, comprising a two per cent of GDP, Federal Government budget deficit and around one per cent of the GDP deficit at the state and municipality levels, as well as arrears that are likely to be split between the three levels of government.

“Nigeria’s moderate susceptibility to event risk in part reflects the waning of Niger Delta insurgency and the return of alert levels to minimum levels.”

The rating agency, however, noted that the President Muhammadu Buhari administration had sent strong signals that the “business as usual” environment was over, adding that there was greater transparency and accountability, as well as resolve to fully implement the rule of law.

According to it, the government has also made significant gains in terms of governance and transparency in the oil sector.

“There has been also no further build-up of arrears on cash calls in joint ventures in 2017 beyond those recorded previously, which sends a strong positive signal to international oil companies present in Nigeria,” it added.

Mark Clattenburg’s Remarkable Interview

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has responded to Mark Clattenburg’s remarkable interview, in which the former Premier League referee claimed he allowed Tottenham to ‘self-destruct’ against the Blues back in 2016.

Clattenburg used to be one of English football’s most high-profile refs, and took charge of the London derby between the two sides back in May 2016, in which Spurs blew a 2-0 lead and surrendered the title to Leicester City.

The eventful evening saw nine Spurs players booked and both teams on the end of record fines from the FA, and speaking to the NBC’s Men in Blazers podcast, Clattenburg said of the match: “I allowed them [Spurs] to self-destruct so all the media, all the people in the world went: ‘Tottenham lost the title.’

“If I sent three players off from Tottenham, what are the headlines? ‘Clattenburg cost Tottenham the title.’ It was pure theatre that Tottenham self-destructed against Chelsea and Leicester won the title.”

Clattenburg is now in charge of refereeing in Saudia Arabia but the pretty extraordinary quotes have gained a lot of attention in the UK, as you can probably imagine, and Fabregas – who played in the match – kept his response on Twitter rather short and sweet:

BusinessEssential Banking Tips For Entrepreneurs by Petercious133(op): 8:37am On Dec 05, 2017
Source:- http://www.exclusivepp.com.ng/essential-banking-tips-entrepreneurs/

As an entrepreneur, you can make the most of your relationship with your bank.

There are many factors involved in being a successful entrepreneur, but undoubtedly, maintaining good relationships is one of the most essential. While all the relationships that you build as an entrepreneur are important, you should be sure to pay special attention to any that you foster with a financial institution, according to www.bankadviser.com.

Although entrepreneurs typically are used to serving their businesses in a variety of roles, there are some areas where expert help is invaluable. When it comes to fulfilling your business’s financial needs, your financial institution is your best ally.

You can set yourself up for success by taking the time to get to know the people who work at your financial institution and helping them get to know you and your business. That way, when the time comes to seek out a loan, you will already have established a good foundation.

“It was important to our business for our bank to know us,” stated Ryan Stephens, founder of Ryan Stephens Marketing, on BusinessInsider.com. “Developing a face-to-face relationship with your bank can make a difference when it comes to a breezier process for lending and credit, and faster problem-solving if any problems arise.”

You can strengthen your alliance with your financial institution by putting a concerted effort into crafting the image you present and by ensuring that all your communications are well thought out.

Another important tip to keep in mind when embarking on your banking endeavours is to focus on the following: character, capacity/cash flow, capital, conditions and collateral.

“These are basic guidelines that a bank might use to evaluate a potential borrower,” according to NerdWallet Contributor Amolm. “As a business owner, excelling in and/or understanding each of these categories could drastically improve your chances of receiving a loan.”

Character: This is the general impression that a lender has regarding a borrower. It can’t be reduced down to simple numbers; it is more of a subjective concept. If a borrower thinks you have good character, then you are considered to be trustworthy and creditworthy. You can show your good character by being thoughtful and thoroughly prepared for all meetings and interactions with your lender. You can also provide references that can attest to your good character.

Capacity/cash flow: By analysing your capacity and your cash flow, a lender is able to determine your ability to repay the loan. One way you can help your business shine in this regard is to show a detailed accounting of how you will set aside money to pay back the loan, and how you will use the loan funds responsibly.

Capital: This is the sum of money that you have personally invested in the business. In general, financial institutions prefer to lend to entrepreneurs who have demonstrated the ability to invest in their own businesses and, therefore, have equity in the businesses.

Conditions: No matter how great your business is or how well you prepare for your meetings with your financial institution, there may be economic conditions out of your control that affect the decision to give you a loan. This can be for the good or the bad. If you demonstrate that you understand the current economic conditions of your area and market and that you are prepared to excel in that environment, you can help convince the financial institution that you are worth investing in now.

Collateral: As with any loan, a small-business loan is easier to obtain if you have assets that can serve as collateral should you be unable to repay your loan. This is why well-established businesses may have an easier time obtaining a loan, as they typically have acquired more collateral over the years.

The relationship you have with your financial institution is one of the most important relationships that you can foster as an entrepreneur; so keep this information in mind and take action so it grows stronger and stronger.

PoliticsEbonyi Govt Moves To Cover Up Alleged Governor’s Aide Rape Case by Petercious133(op): 7:15am On Dec 04, 2017
Source:- http://www.exclusivepp.com.ng/ebonyi-govt-moves-cover-alleged-governors-aide-rape-case/

The Ebonyi State Government has denied any incidence of alleged rape by the Technical Assistant to the Governor on the New Media, Mr. Francis Nwaze.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Emmanuel Uzor, said the government believed it was a case of blackmail, adding that it was only being celebrated by members of the opposition party.

Our correspondent had reported that Nwaze and an undergraduate of the Ebonyi State University, Esther Odinakachi, were friends on Facebook.

Odinakachi was said to have asked the Governor Umahi David’s aide for help to defect from the All Progressives Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party.

The suspect reportedly invited her to his office for a discussion.

After a brief meeting on the appointed day, Odinakachi asked to leave when it became dark.

When the social media friends met for another discussion the following day, Nwaze was alleged to have driven her to his house where the alleged rape occurred.

While the undergraduate student insisted that she was raped, the governor’s aide denied having any sexual contact with her, saying he was being blackmailed.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Odah Loveth, had on Thursday confirmed that the matter was being investigated at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.

However, on Sunday, the police spokesperson called our correspondent, saying she could not remember ever speaking with him.

She also noted that she had checked her call records and could not find any trace of our correspondent’s phone number to show they spoke.

“I have searched my phone and didn’t see any trace of speaking with anyone from Lagos to confirm a matter. The person (Nwaze) was just arrested yesterday (Saturday) and he is in custody as I am talking to you now. I wonder how I can confirm a matter before the arrest.

“The issue is that I have not been aware of that case. I called the Officer-in-Charge of SARS this morning (Sunday) and he told me that the guy was arrested yesterday for allegedly raping a girl; they even came to release him on bail, but they refused for now because a lot of people are interested,” she said.

Our correspondent sent a snapshot of his call history to her on a social media application, Whatsapp, to prove she spoke with PUNCH Metro.

The victim, Odinakachi, told our correspondent on Sunday that she led SARS operatives to Nwaze’s house where he was arrested.

She said, “He lied to you that he didn’t touch me. If he never touched me, how did I know his house? Even though the incident happened late in the night and I was helpless because of the reckless way he drove, I was able to identify the location. But I don’t know the address. He was arrested around 10pm. When he was arrested, he started making calls to the state governor to intimidate me.

“He thought he could take advantage of me because I am a student. His family members have been begging me, but I have refused to back down. I have a lot of evidence against him.”

She claimed that the result of a labouratory test conducted on her showed there was forceful penetration.

When our correspondent called back the state police spokesperson, Loveth, for a confirmation of the suspect’s arrest, which she had mentioned earlier, she said she could not confirm it.

The governor’s CPS, Uzor, said the government did not have any record of the case being reported to the law enforcement agencies.

He said, “There was no report of such an incident to the government or the security agencies. We read about it on Facebook and then The PUNCH. It was your paper that informed us. I am not aware that he was arrested by the police. I spoke with him yesterday (Saturday).

“This is a government that believes in human rights. If this (rape) truly happened, she should have explored the option of the office of Her Excellency, the wife of the state governor, to tell her story. The wife of the governor has been an advocate of such cases, whether sexual or otherwise. We also have the Ministry of Women Affairs and Youth Development.

“Personally, I believe if such a thing happened, the victim should have come to the government to let us know about it. As it stands now, I don’t have any case of rape. Whatever is happening in that case is shrouded in mystery. There is no proper channel to link the government with what is happening.

“When I first read it on Facebook, I called Nwaze to know what really happened. From what he said, it is a case of blackmail because of the way it is being celebrated. It is being celebrated by the opposition. So, I see it as one of the efforts to silence a voice that has been terrorising them. If he was arrested, I am not aware. If he raped anybody, I am not aware. And that is the position of the governor.”

When our correspondent called the suspect, Nwaze, his line indicated it had been switched off.

InvestmentAgric Sector, Others To Attract N1.8tn Investments From NIRSAL by Petercious133(op): 6:45am On Dec 04, 2017

The Nigeria Incentives Risk-based Sharing for Agricultural Lending is working at mobilising a total investment of $6bn (N1.83tn) annually into the agricultural value chain as well as other sectors of the economy.

The Managing Director, NIRSAL, Mr Aliyu Abdulhameed, said this in Abuja on the sidelines of the first Annual NACCIMA-NIRSAL agribusiness and policy linkage conference.

NIRSAL is an agency set up by the Central Bank of Nigeria to provide guarantee for banks’ lending to agricultural value chain.

The conference had as its theme ‘Implementing the agriculture component of the Economic Recovery Growth Plan’.

Abdulhameed said the need to mobilise investment for the agricultural value chain was born out of the conviction that it would assist the government achieve its objective of increasing annual agricultural growth from 4.1 per cent to 8.3 per cent by December 2020 as contained in the ERGP.

This, he added, would represent an average growth rate of 6.9 per cent across the three year plan period.

He lamented that while the country is endowed with abundant natural resources, there was insufficient capital to actualise this potential.

He said, “We are naturally endowed with land, water, climate and the market and at very competitive level, but we lack the full capital to actualise these opportunities. In order to leapfrog the development as desired by the agricultural sector, fully identified actors have to be attracted into Nigeria.

“At the heart of its functions is its role in facilitating and increasing the flow of commercial revenue and investment in agriculture and fixing the broken value chains which are impediments in achieving increased financial investments. The objective is to raise commercial bank lending and other investments from three per cent as it is today to about 10 per cent by the year 2026. We want to see how we can mobilise up to $6bn annually into the Nigerian business sector.’’

Giving the reason why the agricultural sector was underperforming, Abdulhameed said that despite the natural talent and large domestic market, Nigeria was generally lacking in four critical areas, which he listed as technology, equipment, human/intellectual capacity and finance.

He said, “Statistics show that Nigeria has only 6.5 tractors available per 100sq.km compared to global average of 200. Bank lending to agriculture is less than five per cent of total lending at interest rates as high as 25 per cent. Agricultural practices and methods are still very crude and the country lacks modern technologies and infrastructure for logistics, storage and processing.”

He added that NIRSAL was in partnership with NACCIMA to promote strategic approaches in solving endemic challenges that appeared in the process of increasing agricultural financing.

CelebritiesRecession Forced Entrepreneurs To Go Into Nine-to-five Jobs ‑‑ Romoke Adebo by Petercious133(op): 6:58am On Dec 03, 2017
In this interview, the CEO of Epicentre Global Events Ltd., Romoke Adebo, tells KEMI LANRE-AREMU how unemployment made her to go into event planning

How did you discover your flair for event planning?

I stumbled on it when I was in my third year at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho, where I studied Agric Extension and Economics. An uncle to one of my friends needed aso ebi for a burial. He needed like 2,000 pieces and even though I had never sourced for fabrics before then, I said I could do it. The man, who was a member of the House of Representatives, decided to give me a try. I searched for and found a company that could customise ankara. I made some profit from that transaction and I was excited.

When I graduated from the university, I couldn’t get a job even though I graduated with a second-class upper degree. I almost got employed at Access Bank. I got to the final stage of the interview phase and met with the then MD/CEO, who asked me to tell him about my siblings. When I told him that one of my eight brothers was the Human Resource Manager at Access Bank at that time, the MD/CEO said it was quite unfortunate. They probably had a policy that siblings couldn’t work in the bank. I was a little bit discouraged that I lost a chance to work in a bank because of my brother. Afterwards, I got a job at MTN. I worked there for only one day because I had a little baby and I lived faraway from Victoria Island where the office was.

What did you do next?

It was at that point I made up my mind to explore the option of event planning. I had to decide on the aspect of events planning I wanted to venture into. I tried doing aso ebi again, I did cocktails and then, I started doing family parties and I think that was how I started. My brother, Mr. Tunji Olugbodi, who is also the chairman of this company, had just started an advertising agency at that period. I went to him that I wanted to work with him and he asked me if I was sure I had the strength to do so. To cut the story short, I am grateful that I had some leverage; my brothers were my leverage and also my husband.

The event planning industry is a very large one. How were you able to decide on your area of specialisation?

I had some people in the industry already, like Mr. Tunji Olugbodi, who gave us some business. Of course, his really big events went to the established planners. He wanted me to prove myself first before he could entrust me with the big ones. I worked like my life depended on it because I had to earn his trust. I wanted to be able to get jobs because I am capable and not because I am Mr. Tunji Olugbodi’s sister. Along the line, I began to enjoy planning corporate events. Even though we do weddings, I like things that are dynamic.

Has the business recorded any growth in the 10 years of its existence?

We have experienced some growth. Social media has been helpful and that is what we didn’t have 10 years ago. Ten years ago, we could not take pictures and upload on Facebook, but today, that and more is possible. Social media has helped businesses reach a wider audience.

How did you sustain the business during recession?

Sustaining a business in Nigeria considering the recession made many entrepreneurs look for nine-to-five jobs. Maintaining a relationship with past clients and good service delivery means they are most likely to invite us to plan their other events. For almost 10 years, it has not been solely about making profit, it has been more of image building and brand building. I think that is how we were able to survive the recession.

How do you ensure your job does not affect the time you spend with your husband and children?

Luckily, I am blessed with a husband who really supports my career. He is a rig manager and his job is also time-consuming as well. I try to balance everything before I leave home for work. If I am going to be away for days, I make sure that there is food in the house for my husband and three sons. I try to take my kids to school every day.

Apart from event planning what other things do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I love to travel, I love staying in beautiful hotels. When I see a nice hotel, I am like a kid in the candy store. It is that bad. It doesn’t have to be abroad it could be in Nigeria but it must be a beautiful hotel.

CelebritiesI Don’t Like It When Things Are Too Easy – Idia Aisien by Petercious133(op): 6:49am On Dec 03, 2017
Background

My dad is from Edo State, while my mum is from Cameroon. I grew up as the last child in a big family. Being the last child is the best thing that has happened to me. Although I was pampered, I was also lucky to have elder ones that I learnt a lot from.

Education

I studied Journalism at the American University in Washington DC and I had my master’s degree in International Public Relations at New York University.

Modelling

I started modelling professionally in New York during my master’s degree programme. I remember wishing that I could model professionally while growing up, but I knew it was important to finish school and constantly work hard. I got my first major break when I met a buyer at the Jovani Fashion Company headquarters, who my friend had told about my dreams of modelling. I was hired on the spot and that fashion job changed my life.

Parental support

My parents have always been extremely supportive of my career over the years. Initially, my dad was not happy about my decision to move from New York to work in the ‘public eye’. But he saw how hard I was pushing and he had no choice but to become my biggest supporter. Now, he watches all my shows and we discuss them.

Breakthrough

The defining moment in my media career was when a woman, who once told me it would be impossible to have my own show, called me and said I was doing very well. She said she wanted to see me. When we met, she told me she was proud of me. She had a feeling that I would be the best and would be around for a long time. A year ago, I didn’t even have a seat at the table in the media industry. Apart from my own show, I now have two other shows.

Challenges

Some of the challenges I faced included the fact that I had such big ideas and it wasn’t very easy to find a lot of people who wanted to buy into those dreams. Also, being in the public eye opens you to a lot of scrutiny. It is very hard but necessary to draw a line between my private life and the Idia that people see on television. To overcome challenges, I work extremely hard and I notice that the more I invest in myself, the more people see how committed I am and then buy into my ideas. I’ve also tried to make people fall in love with my work by giving my all.

Role models

Christiane Amanpour and Oprah Winfrey were two of my favorite women while I was growing up. I’m also fascinated by Naomi Campbell and Beyoncé Knowles. I have always been attracted to very strong women and anyone who is generally hard-working and resilient.

Lessons

I’ve learnt that you should never wait for people to help you to become successful. When you are successful, people will want to help you. I have a lot of regrets, but I have learned to turn my wounds into wisdom.

Personality

I am funny, complicated and deep. People also tell me that I’m really goofy.

Inspiration

I am inspired by a lot of women who have come before me. I am inspired by people who had been told they couldn’t do something but pushed through and overcame it. I don’t like it when things are too easy; when something is hard, I get more excited about it. In other words, I’m more inspired by difficulty because that’s when things mean most to me.

Balance

There’s a part of me that still wants to do fashion fully. There’s a part of me that wishes to do more internationally. But things are getting harder because I have to be more focused on the television projects that I have lined up for next year. The fact that I want to explore the fashion stage fully is probably the only thing I’ve wanted to do but it is always interrupted by life, goals and responsibilities. Whenever I want to relax, I travel.

Style

My fashion is inspired by my mood; anything happening to me at any particular time. If I’m thinking about my mum, I might want to recreate an outfit that she’s worn before. If I’m thinking about my dad and I’m feeling powerful, then I might opt for my alter ego dressing. I mean something not as soft as I would wear usually. I am just inspired by anything going on around me. If it’s an award show, and I’m feeling like a winner, I would dress like a winner.

InvestmentOperators Invest N5bn Pension Funds In Infrastructure by Petercious133(op): 6:25am On Dec 03, 2017
The total pension funds invested by the Pension Fund Administrators in infrastructure have risen to N5.38bn.

Figures obtained from the National Pension Commission on Thursday revealed that the total assets under the management of the Contributory Pension Scheme rose to N7.09tn at the end of August 2017.

In May 2015, the operators invested a sum of N568m in infrastructure for the first time and increased it to N1.35bn in December 2015.

They invested N1.82bn in infrastructure bond in September 2016, and had gradually increased the pension funds invested in the portfolio.

The Chairman, Pension Fund Operators Association of Nigeria, Mr. Eguarehide Longe, said the pension funds were active in different investment portfolios.

According to him, the bulk of the funds have been invested in government bonds and some of the funds invested in infrastructure.

Ideally, he explained, the money that had been borrowed for a reasonable long term should be used for long-term assets and not to fund recurrent expenditure.

“We are there to invest in a way that the funds will not be lost,” he said.

According to him, if the funds are used for infrastructure, this will have significant impact on the economy.

Earlier in the year, the commission had reviewed the regulations of investment of pension funds. And in the reviewed regulations, PenCom had stated that the Pension Fund Administrators must offer a multi-fund structure for the Retirement Savings Account and that there would be a transition period of six months, effective from the commencement date of the multi-fund structure for all the PFAs to restructure their respective portfolios.

It stated, “The multi-fund structure shall comprise Fund I, Fund II, Fund III, and Fund IV (retiree fund). Funds I, II, III, and IV shall however differ, according to their overall exposure to variable income instruments.”

The National Pension Commission has also said it will raise the pensions of retirees who opt for programmed withdrawal and are being paid by the Pension Fund Administrators this month.

The Acting Director-General, National Pension Commission, Aisha Dahir-Umar, said this when the commission submitted a memorandum to the Senate Committee on Establishment and Public Service at the public hearing on a bill for an Act to amend the Pension Reform Act, 2014, to provide for definite percentage a retiree can withdraw from his Retirement Savings Accounts and for other matters related thereto.

She, however, stated that some retirees would not be entitled to the increase due to low balances in their RSAs.

Dahir-Umar said, “Indeed, the commission has just concluded an exercise to increase the monthly pension of all retirees on programmed withdrawal due to the income earned on investing their pension assets.

“The outcome of this exercise showed that 30 per cent of the retirees would not benefit from the increase due to insignificant income earned on the small balances in their respective RSAs.”

He confirmed the progress, which another Chinese investment had made in the cocoa processing industry located at Ede, saying the new partnership on the industrial park would turn around the economy of the state.

The General Manager of Jiangsu Wuxi Taihu Cocoa Food Company Limited, Mr. Liu Jianhui,ý commended the governor for exploring every opportunity to develop the state.

He said the company decided to establish the $600m project in the state, having understudied the economic potential of Osun to grow foreign investments.

Liu Jiangsu assured the state of fruitful partnership that would bring change to the economic activities of the state and create a robust bilateral economic relation between the state and Chinese firm.

Politics2019: NEC, Afenifere, Junaid, Others Differ On Buhari by Petercious133(op): 6:52am On Dec 01, 2017
The pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere; Northern Elders Council and a Second Republic lawmaker, Dr. Junaid Muhammed, on Thursday expressed different views on President Muhammadu Buhari’s 2019 presidential ambition.

While Muhammed said Buhari’s ambition was irrational, Afenifere called on other presidential aspirants to present their plans to the nation to enable Nigerians to decide the most suitable person for the high office.

Afenifere said the President had the constitutional right to seek re-election, noting that he had not done anything wrong by expressing his determination to seek a second term in office.

The National Publicity Secretary of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, who stated this in an interview with The PUNCH, said Nigerians should be more concerned about the plans of the presidential aspirants.

He said, “He (Buhari) has the constitutional right to seek re-election and I don’t think Nigerians should bother about whether he wants to seek re-election or not. Let other aspirants also come out and present their programmes and Nigerians would decide between what he is presenting and what others are offering. Let others who have ideas about the way Nigeria should be run also come out.”

Asked whether the President deserved re-election based on his performance in office, Odumakin declined to assess his administration, saying it was too early to do so.

But Muhammed condemned the President’s ambition, saying it was an irrational decision.

Muhammed said, “Unless Nigerian politics can mature and graduate beyond the level of identity politics, we will always have problem. The assumption that anyone in the office of the president must serve for two terms is absolutely irrational and baseless. A leader, even if he spends a term or half a term and performs, should have no problem seeking re-election.

“It becomes disappointing that this is the level where we are. Nigerians must say, look, we shun identity and ethnic politics. That is my hope in 2019. A man, who has not done much for his first term, to start talking about a second term is the most irrational thing I can imagine.”

Also, the chairman, the Northern Elders Council, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, said the President’s decision was not surprising, noting that it was only typical of Nigerian politicians.

A civil society group, Sage Africa said that the President should focus on fulfilling his electoral promises, noting that he had not done enough to deserve re-election.

At first, their fears were deemed unfounded by family friends, close and distant relatives, but ever since their father completed his sprawling mansion in Ikoyi, the children have become very worried about the possibility of seeing Toke hop in the master bedroom with their father. Fadeyi’s children are very angry with the way he splurges on his love interest, Toke. They believe he is squandering too much money on her at a time he is heavily indebted to Skye Bank.

Recall that the well-heeled founder and CEO of Pan Ocean Corporation, an indigenous independent oil firm, acquired a multi-billion naira loan from Skye Bank. His indebtedness to the bank was estimated at N196 billion few months ago. Notwithstanding, Fadeyi spends extravagantly on Toke. For instance, he allegedly bought her a brand new Range Rover 2016 model worth over N50 million. He is also responsible for her acquisition of top of the line and very expensive designer bags, shoes from Louboutin, Bottega… .
.
What Fadeyi’s children find alarming however, is Toke’s continual neglect of her lover’s precarious financial situation. Consequently, they have declared war against her, warning her to leave their father alone. Frightened by the undisguised animosity, Toke has resorted to extreme measures to avoid their wrath or unpalatable encounters with them. For instance, she now tries to steal around town incognito by covering her vehicle’s number plate with leather.”
