Blueboy0402: The op actually took time to analyse the possible political permutation come 2015. As it stands GEJ will "capture" the SS/SE/NC. In the SW (Lagos) to be precise, the votes of the "18" million population will be shared because there is a large population of Igbos in Lagos. GEJ will therefore get votes from Igbos, Niger Deltans and Middle Beltans in Lagos being the "engine room" of the Yoruba. The same scenario will repeat itself in the remaining states of the SW. BEFORE WRITING ALL THIS BULSH1T, ASK YOURSELF WHAT JONATHAN AS DONE FOR LAGOS AND ALL THE NIGERIAN TRIBES LIVING IN LAGOS OR SOUTHWEST ? I'M STILL WAITING! |

The Afenifere group has blasted a former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ahmadu Ali, for denigrating Yorubas. In a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Yinka Odumakin, the group drew attention to a newspaper report in which Ali said, “…The Yoruba people who are totally ungrateful kind of people in this country… the Yoruba are another character.” It said that a remark of that nature against a whole people is totally unbecoming of a man who is expected to be cultured, coming as he does from Igala kingdom, which has centuries of civilization behind it. Afenifere said it would ordinarily have ignored Ali’s vituperations but for the facts that given his profile as a former chairman of the ruling party and a failed aspirant to the chairmanship of its Board of Trustees, the unwary may be tempted to assume that the words he spoke came from a wise man who is highly informed; and that he has touched on a deep cultural value of the Yoruba people on the subject of appreciation. “The Yoruba people value an appreciative spirit to the point of criminalizing an ungrateful person in the saying “eni ti a se lore ti ko dupe, bi olosa ko ni leru lo ni” (an ingrate person is not different from a thief),” the statement said. “They also link continuous blessings to appreciation of past ones “bi omode ba dupe ore ana, a ri mi gba” (someone who appreciates past blessings would attract new ones).” On this basis, Afenifere asserted, it is crystal clear that Ali lacks lessons to teach the Yoruba in the art of gratitude and his uncouth remark only portrays him as ill-mannered and foul-mouthed. “For Ali and those who think like him, Yoruba don’t venerate mere positions but rather leadership through service to the community. This explains why the Yoruba adore Awolowo who contested the highest office in the land three times and lost and resent Ali’s hero who occupied the same office three times!” “The difference is that as Premier of Western Region, Awo used the resources of the region to banish ignorance through free education, eliminated diseases through free health, introduced television culture to the Yoruba even before France, made Yoruba to aim for the sky by building the 25-storey Cocoa House in Ibadan, among other imperishable.” The statement noted that in contrast, the years Obasanjo spent as leader of Nigeria institutionalized corruption which deepened poverty for all Nigerians including the Yoruba. “The poverty index in Nigeria was 45% in 1999 and jumped to 67% in 2007 in spite of unprecedented oil earnings in the same period,” the statement said. “The culture of begging that was alien in Yorubaland became pronounced under the leadership of the man Ali wants Yoruba to worship. “In all the 11 years Ali’s god spent as Nigerian’s President, Yoruba can point to nothing in their region that rivals the least of Awo’s achievements. That is why they have no gratitude for such a man positioned to give quality leadership to his country but left it worse that he met it because of personal failings.” Afenifere called on Ali to feel free to build a shrine for his god in his Igala kingdom but that he would never be the one to choose a hero for the Yoruba. “And talking of gratitude is there anything the Yoruba owe Ahmadu Ali himself? They remain “grateful” to him in memory of Akintunde Ojo and other promising students who were murdered in cold blood during “Ali Must Go” crisis of 1978, when Ali was Obasanjo’s Education Minister,” the group said. http://www.osundefender.org/?p=95963 |

About 12 governors, who are members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, may join the newly formed political party, All Progressive Congress. Our correspondent gathered that the governors were already talking with the leaders of the newly formed political party. Investigations further showed that some of the governors were already thinking of how to leave the party and join the newly formed APC. The new party was formed by the merging of the Action Congress of Nigeria, All Nigeria Peoples Party, All Progressive Grand Alliance and Congress for Progressive Change. It was gathered that some other minor political parties had also discussed with the newly former political party. Sources close the PDP said the party was already fidgeting that some of its governors and lawmakers could leave the party. A member of the National Working Committee of the PDP, who spoke with our correspondent on condition of anonymity, said the leadership of the party and the Presidency were afraid that their governors could abandon the umbrella. Umbrella is the symbol of the PDP. He said behind the show of ‘we don’t care’ by the party’s leadership, there was concealment of fear, as the party was afraid that the current crisis rocking the party could consume it and make it a minority party in the future. He said, “The party’s leadership is afraid. I must tell you. We are not convenient at all because the formation of the party is coming at a time we are having problems in our party. “Don’t forget that the NWC is divided. The governors are angry. We cannot hold National Executive Committee meeting. We are even finding it difficult to elect the chairman of our Board of Trustees. “We are also having financial problems in the party as the governors have refused to fund us the way they used to do before the crisis started. “So, if anyone is telling you that we are at peace and are not worried as a result of the formation of the party, such a person is being economical with the truth.” The source also added that though the party is convenient with the attitude of his members in the Senate, the same thing could not be said of the House of Representatives. “We know that the opposition is in control of the House, because though the Speaker, Mallam Aminu Tambuwal belongs to our party, he is more popular among the opposition political parties,” the NWC member said regrettably. Among governors touted that could leave the party, four are from the North-West, three from the North-East, two from the South-South and three from the North-Central. Our correspondent further gathered that these governors, especially those from the North, would move if it was clear that President Goodluck Jonathan would run for a second term. “His second term ambition, if he declares it, will quicken the death of this party,” a source close to the party said. Reacting to the development, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, told our correspondent that that would not happen. He said he was sure that none of the governors would leave the ruling party and join the opposition, whose future he said was not known. Metuh said, “Definitely, such will never happen. We are not afraid of the newly formed party. Our governors are too committed to the PDP to join the APC. “You cannot leave the ruling party to join an opposition party, whose future you cannot even tell. It has never happened in the history of this democracy for the PDP to lose any of its governors to the opposition. “Yes, it is agreed that the party is having some challenges, but we are managing the situation. When other parties had challenges, we knew how they handled them. “We are therefore not afraid that some of our governors could leave the PDP and join the APC.” Also, the spokesperson for the CPC, Mr. Rotimi Fashakin, told our correspondent that the APC would gladly welcome the PDP governors, adding that it was high time the governors abandoned what he called the “torn umbrella, which can no longer stop the rain.” Fashakin said, “It is not impossible for the governors to join us. The governor of Niger State, Dr. Babangida Aliyu, just said today (Thursday) that Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) remains his leader and that he is happy at the birth of APC. “APC is a success story that has come to stay. The governor also added that the formation of the new party would stop all riffraffs from contesting the presidency. “So, even if all the governors of the PDP want to come, they are welcome. APC is a party with large heart.” http://www.punchng.com/news/12-pdp-governors-may-join-new-party/

Fashola, we really need you in the realms of Presidency.... I cant take this anymore, when will this country vote a sound educated, intelligent, confident leader as President in this country. A President that knows what it takes and understand that blacks all over the world are dependent on Nigeria as a country, which is expected to lead Africa to the promise land. We have so much intellectuals all over the world and we are still fighting over tribe issues that are rubbish. When we can actually unite and manufacture products that can compete in the world. We already have Nigerian's all over the world as a ready market..... All they need is just a leader and the will all be loyal to their roots. |
You need to understand that acting in most Nigeria movies take on a month or 2, most of them act about 5 movies at the same time. Multiply 5 movies a month by 500k and you know the pay is not bad. What do you expect from an industry not been supported by the Gov. |
