IN 2011 29 Arrested in Awka and Onitsha, and repatriated to their home states; Ebonyi and Akwa Ibom states. The Anambra state government has issued a warning to all street beggars, especially children used by their parents to beg for alms, to vacate the streets or be arrested. 29 of such women who displayed their children as strategy for getting alms have already been arrested in Awka and Onitsha, and repatriated to their home states; Ebonyi and Akwa Ibom states. The state commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Ego Cordelia Uzoezie, disclosed Friday in Awka when a middle-aged woman was arrested for begging with nine children at various points in Awka. Uzoezie said her attention was drawn to the spectacle when one of the children who begged at the Unizik junction, Awka, six-year-old Goodnews Sunday, was hit in the jaw by an Okada rider, while he begged . Uzoezie decried the attitude of some parents who used their children to beg for alms, and warned that after 72 hours any beggar seen in the state would be arrested by the law enforcement agents and the special task force of the ministry of women affairs and social development. http://leadership.ng/nga/articles/9600/2011/12/04/anambra_orders_arrest_child_beggars.html

Tiphareth: IMHO, i am not in support of any tribe deporting another from any part of Nigeria despite their crime. we have the police to investigate and apply the wrath of the laws should anybody found violating the laws of the state. On the issue of the recent deportation of non legosians from Lagos State, it is unconstitutional for Fashola to orchestrate such plan. This is because, Nigeria is a sovereign nation and the constitution allows every Nigerians to live in any part of the country without fear or molestation. It is a fact that Lagos State was a former capital of Nigeria and this same factor precipitated the deluge of many Nigeria to live in Lagos due to faster development as the seat of the nation. If the capital of Nigeria had been Calabar, for instance, people would have moved to Calaba and not Lagos. Furthermore, we can see the recent surge in people relocating to Abuja owing to the relocation of the capital city to Abuja.IN 2011 29 Arrested in Awka and Onitsha, and repatriated to their home states; Ebonyi and Akwa Ibom states. We also want the public to note that the Lagos State government was involved in similar deal with the Akwa Ibom State government when some indigent Lagosians were moved back from Akwa Ibom State to Lagos. We want Nigerians to note that such movements are common with nearly all states in Nigeria and is becoming an issue just because selfish politicians and ethnic reapers who were prominent in the despoliation of the country see it as new and worth cashing in on.” |
VERY SOON, IGBO'S WILL COME AND TELL US THAT THIS IS TARGETED AT THEM....... EVERYTHING IS ALWAYS ABOUT THEM! |

Make them dey go their mama village, we are tired of them.... Everyone is tired of their dirty lousy attitude. Poor people wey dey claim champion. When nigeria divide, all your people in Togo, Benin, Ghana will all be deported to your local villages... Dont forget that most of the west african countries are borders to Yoruba territory and if you read history well... Most of the West African countries pay homage to Yorubas, cause we are related. Una go just suffer. When you are alone in your caves, I only wonder who you will be chest beating for...... I'm sure no African country would be able to re-stand your dirty lousy, drug infested attitude. I'm sure na igbo get the whole of Africa, UK and Europe. One last question... Apart from selling spare-parts or used cars what do you guys do ?? |
olaheavy: How many times have you Ibos contested and wrestled Lagos State with the Yoruba. First, you called it a "no man's land." Second, you referred to it as a "Bini Settlement." These days, it is either you lay a claim to it by saying that you're 95% of Lagos State or threaten that if you leave Yorubaland heaven will fall. In the past, you had dared the Yoruba to try dislodging you from Lagos and see what would happen. Some of you even called us cowards and threatened to drive the Yoruba into the Atlantic Ocean or the Republic of Benin or flank us in between them and the Hausa/Fulani from the North. My questions are: if you owe 95% of a particular place how possible for the minority to now deport you back to the East? If you're that strong a band, how would it be possible for Raji Fashola to close down Ladipo market and arrest your thugs from MASSOB and MEND for months while you did nothing but cried of hunger and exaggerated your daily losses? If truly Lagos is not Yoruba land, how come the Bini of Edo have not joined you in your madness to win back "their land" or "no man's land"? You Ibos can never win this battle - the best thing for you to do is to go back to your Ibo land. Period. A BILLION LIKES |
ola_pluto: June 12 affected Igbos more than any tribe---Igbo leaders |
dangiwa09: How and When are Yorubas ONE? So you categories over 40 million people because of the politics of maybe 10 men.....you funny |
Lagos is a city that as woken up to her senses that we can not allow Nigeria slow us down anymore... It is said by 2015, Lagos would be the 5th richest country in Africa with a population of 25Million. We have to start competing with places like South Africa or London sef. Lagos is not a village, I repeat: Lagos is not a village |
dangiwa09: The IGBO people do NOT hate anyone, especially Yorubas. It's well demonstrated in the IGBOs ability to live in any part of Nigeria peacefully, learn their language and cultures, and even marry there and bring up a family. Rather, it's other tribes, especially the Yorubas that hate IGBOs, from the days of Awolowo, to this day. Fashola, on the other hand is an outlier to this fact. He's doing what is politically, economically and morally expedient for him, AC and Lagos State. Do not forget, people VOTE where they reside and registered, not necessarily in their forefather's state. Tinubu had a long standing agreement/understanding with IGBOs regarding their support, IGBOs insisted on having a say in government, and an enabling environment to do their business and live their lives, this is why the most influential person in Lagos state government BESIDES the governor is an IGBO man, BEN AKABUEZE, he has been so from the days of Tinubu till today. In exchange, the IGBOs will support AC. If NOT, the IGBOs can easily shift the political landscape of Lagos State and give PDP an edge. And what will PDP do? Simply steal all the money and leave you 10 times poorer!!! |
what you people fail to realize is that all Yoruba's are one, they all originated from Osun state (ile ife), then spread across SW Nigeria, West Africa.... If you are Yoruba, you can claim anywhere, any state in SW Nigeria |
