All this Igbo's can plan as much as they want, But as usual, all we need is the Ink in a pen/biro to formulate what will make it harder and more painful for Igbo's in South West. Igbo's seem to forget what makes the South West (Yoruba's) great, the fact we have 2 solid councils that as nothing to do with politics: The Yoruba Council Of Elders The Yoruba House Of Oba's Once the activities of this Igbo groups become a Treat to us Yoruba's, all we need to do is protest to this 2 Councils Of Yoruba's. The Ink of the Pen/Biro will be used by them to write a unified Yoruba Policy that reaches out to all parts of Yoruba Land. So if the Igbo's like, let the vote for one Yoruba governor against what Yoruba's really what in our domain. It will not change the Laws on ground. This is the same thing that happened in the 60's both in the North and West. The Hausa's and Fulani complain so much about the Igbo's, if you allow them on your land, they always want to dominate their Host and Mock them until their Host have no choice than to attack them and send them all packing. I wonder why this tribe are just naturally greedy. They always force their Host to attack and hate them. |

alBHAGDADI:Point of correction please! The whole Yoruba Nation is ONE, these no such thing as division between Christianity/Islam in YorubaLand. Oluwa, Eledumare/Olu-Orun bridges that gap since the beginning of time. Thank You. |

Ugosample:Yes you're right, but you hear them say they are British of Yoruba origin. You don't hear them saying UK is a no man's land, telling the Queen we have conquered your kingdom. Sometimes I wonder if the Igbo's say all this things on purpose, just to provoke the Yoruba's. I don't understand why they can't be humble. The likes of Dangote, Sanusi, Dantata and all the royals of Nigeria, most of them lives in Lagos, before taking their thrown in their respectful states, you don't hear them causing the Yoruba's. When they visit the Oba, they are always humble, dress in Yoruba outfit with Yoruba cap to show respect for the culture. I remember seeing pictures of Prince Sanusi (now the Emir of Kano), visiting Ife and Ibadan, even though this guy was muslim, he gave Yoruba royals a 75% prostration (which is accepted), thats how its down. It was Igbo's fighing to become igwe of Lagos, fighting to be Igwe of Onda, fighting that Lagos is no man's land, insulting Yoruba's they are dirty, they are lazy, they are cowards and you igbos are the one in their land, if it's not course (no disrespect), how do you want us to feel, do you hear news of Yoruba's in the North, East, South South fighting, robbing, kidnapping, doing drugs. Me I don tire, I don't know what else to say. |
Ugosample:Something you don't seem to understand is were ever you're born, you don't envy or want the place to be destroyed. The Chagoury brothers are proud Lagosians, you don't hear them screaming the Lebanese has conquered Yoruba Land, who own Yoruba Land. Go on youtube and watch their interviews, they say it proud, Lagos made us, we are proud of our Nigeria (Yoruba) heritage. If you are Igbo born in Lagos, why are you afraid to accept and say it out loud, that you're igbo born in Lagos and you love your Yoruba heritage. Why do igbo's try to drag a Yoruba city with owners, saying it's a no man's land, when you all know that the Awori families, who sailed to Lagos from Ile Ife owns Lagos. You all know that Lagos has tens of Oba's, hundreds of cheifs and baale's, you know that Lagos is been Governed by Yoruba's, you know that any street name is been named by the authority. So were is all this Lagos is a no man's land coming from, we have all tribes and over 300 ethnic groups living in Lagos, ask yourlself this question: WHY IS IT ONLY THE IGBO'S ALWAYS THE ONES CALLING LAGOS A NO MAN'S LAND. Is either you are proud of your igbo roots, or you assimilate yourself into a new Yoruba heritage and be proud of it. |
googlepikins:They are half Yoruba half Lebanese, they were born in Lagos, so they owe it to their mother land. |

Leading global hospitality company, Hilton, has announced the signing of a management agreement with Quality Inspection & Testing Services (QUITS) Limited to open a 350 guest-room and suite hotel at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Nigeria. The hotel, which was signed at AHIF 2016 in Rwanda, is set to open in 2023 and joins Hilton’s growing African portfolio of more than 80 properties trading or in the development pipeline, which will see Hilton more than double its presence across Africa in the next 3-5 years. “With a population of more than 16 million, Lagos is the seventh-fastest growing city in the world and the second largest in Africa, with much of the nation’s wealth and economic activity concentrated here,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, EMEA, Hilton Worldwide. “Strong growth is forecasted in both domestic and international travellers using Murtala Muhammed International Airport, so this exemplary new hotel will be well placed to meet traveller’s needs, offering an unparalleled level of design, comfort and service.” The hotel will be situated within close proximity to Ikeja, the capital of Lagos State, as well as the passenger terminals at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, which service travellers flying to hundreds of destinations around the world. Mr Sam Iwuajoku, Chairman and CEO of QUITS, said: “The signing of the agreement to open Hilton Lagos Airport is testament to a period of exciting growth and development for Lagos. Our plans to build an exceptional hotel at the international airport will revolutionise the traveller experience and also offer a state-of-the-art choice for conferences, meetings and events. We look forward to a very successful collaboration with Hilton Worldwide on this outstanding development.” Hilton Lagos Airport will comprise 350 guest-rooms, of which 72 are suites, an Executive floor and multiple food and beverage outlets, including; a restaurant serving international cuisine; a speciality restaurant; a fashionable rooftop cocktail bar; and a hip night club. An elevated pool deck, with lavish gardens and a striking horizon pool overhanging the side of the property, provides breath-taking views of the surroundings and a unique leisure experience for an airport property. The hotel will also feature a spa and fitness centre. Business travellers and event planners will benefit from a wide choice of professional facilities across the 2,600sqm event space, including a 1,350sqm ballroom and 500sqm junior ballroom. “Hilton Lagos Airport will further solidify our presence in Nigeria and be a great asset to our Hilton Hotels and Resorts properties trading or under development in Africa,” said Jim Holthouser, executive vice president, global brands, Hilton. “We have great confidence in this growing market and are proud to be pioneering exemplary guest experiences across the continent with our range of Hilton brands.” Hilton is set to more than double its presence in Africa in the next three to five years to more than 80 hotels and is focused on further development prospects across the continent, entering new countries while also growing in areas with an existing Hilton presence. This signing is in addition to the recent signing of Legend Hotel Lagos Airport, Curio Collection by Hilton, also with QUITS, with an additional 76 guest rooms to be added, bringing the room count up to 130-keys. These properties represent the two most recent hotels signed at Lagos Airport in some time. The Curio hotel, due to open during 2017, will be the first within the airport environment giving guests and airline passengers alike unrivalled ease of access to the airport’s facilities.

EU doing this to check mate Britain (UK) because of the #BREXIT. Lifting Ban for 3 years, exactly the time that Britain and EU would have finished the BREXIT negotiations. As simple as that. More EU policies to come. Nigeria needs to use this period (opportunity) to start negotiating with Britain on one side and EU on the other side. Nigerian Government too slow for their thinking! |

lexyclasy: You must be siick! I don't seem to understand your point. So it's our fault that your people refuse to give peace a chance. Do you think white men don't value their lives. keep bombing ok. Tell me, since the white man came to colonize Nigeria, were was their administrative headquarters (LAGOS). You think the area in Lagos named VICTORIA ISLAND was named for just naming sake. So stop speaking French in an English matter ok. |
