Jahluv:
Hello House,

My application has been delayed for the second time.
Reason, "Purpose of visit", "I am not satisfied that your propose program is..."
I have B.Ed in Mathematics, Msc Industrial Mathematics and was going for another Masters in Scientific Computing at MUN.
I have taught Mathematics in a government Senior High School for 6 years now.
My supervisor is willing to defer my program to next year fall.
I have already requested for my gcms notes.

I am so confuse and needs advice from you, my brothers and sisters.

Thank you. Regards.
Hello,
I would suggest you go for PhD instead of another Masters since you already have master’s in mathematics. I think going for another Masters is what brought about this purpose of visit.

Good morning guys, I plan to apply later this month against winter 2018 having being refused last month. Am actually waiting for my GCMS file. As we all know, CIC can decide not to be time conscious at times (I don't pray for that, I want accelerated response). I need urgent info about upfront medical. Can it be done in one day and do I need an appointment?
Hello.
Yes, upfront medical can be done in one day. You need to call any of the clinic to confirm about their process.

Hello guys,

This post is for those whose programs are research or thesis based whether Masters or PhD. Please ensure your supervisors trust you enough to handle deadlines.

The supervisors here (and I am sure else where) are particular about deadlines. So meeting these deadlines is key to gaining their trusts that you can work alone with minimal supervision if need be.

In most cases, before delving in into your particular research area, you will be required to do a survey of papers in your field. This survey would normally be in the form of papers reviews (Published papers related to your research areas). Please note, you don't have to read the entire contents of a paper to know if it suits you or not. Read the abstract first; if it contains what you need, go to the technical area and results sections to get what you want. This is not the general principle but it is enough to get you by.

Most times, your supervisor MIGHT assign papers to you to read or you might have to get it yourself. To do this you need to search databases related to your research area. I am only aware of Springer (http://www.springer.com/us/), ScienceDirect (http://www.sciencedirect.com/), IEEE (http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/Xplore/home.jsp), Elsevier (http://www.sciencedirect.com/) and the famous google scholar (http://scholar.google.ca/). In most cases, your university have access to this databases as such downloading journals from these databases are free and readily available. But remember to reference them.

When doing surveys, you might most likely forget the papers you have read, so it is better to use a good referencing system. I use citeulike (http://www.citeulike.org/). But there are others too like, mendeley (https://www.mendeley.com/), endnote (http://endnote.com/), etc, use that which works well for you. The good thing about this Bibliography sites is it helps you organize your references and you can link them to your online latex platform.

When it is time to write papers for conferences, journals or any technical papers, please use latex. It makes your work tidy and beautiful. Don't worry about downloading the software, just use online services like www.overleaf.com , www.sharelatex.com etc. They have templates for almost every journal.

Finally, when you are stuck in your research, ask your colleagues, fellow lab mates, your network, and your supervisor. Remember, it is better to ask than to assume.

Godspeed and wisdom in our pursuits.

Warm Regards,

Mazi

PS: for those who are non-thesis based, I will find out about yours and post it here in due time.
Nice one maziude. Noted. It will surely end with praises.

Hello everyone,

This thread is quite resourceful, I must admit. I am posting this to encourage someone out there. The wait isn't easy, no doubt, but keep the faith, stay strong, above all...pray and praise! It may sound ridiculous especially when you see people who submitted way after you getting responses, trust me, just rejoice with them, key into that great news and watch God work for you. But I also need to mention this, do your research, be ready to know the "ins and outs" of visa application, even the bible says, "Study to show yourself approved..." Many a time, God wants you to take action, before He can begin to work for you.

Kindly see below my timeline:

Application submission date: 1st June, 2017
Medicals: Upfront - Passed 19th June, 2017
Additional Documents Review: 21st August
Review of Eligibility: 23rd August
Approval: 25th August (Morning)

Master's program with full funding.

To sum it up - Habakkuk 2:3

Have an amazing day!
Congrats. God is faithful.

Pls, can you answer my question just for a friend..

He tuition fees is $12,000
Got a research assistantship of $7000/y for his two years M. sc program..
Got a teaching assistantship of $4,000

His aunty is her sponsor and she has paid his full tuition fees of $12,000 with receipt of payment as evidence..
Also his aunty is sponsoring him with $11,000 for his living expenses out of the $25,000 in her bank statement..

The guy in question has #700,000 in his own personal account...

His dad says he will also sponsor him with just $5000

My question is, how much is available for his stay?
He is confused as he doesn't know how much to fill in the section on the check list...

Need guru's input
The funds available is 7000+4000+11000+5000+his #700k =$27, 000+$2,333= $29,333

I guessed right. That is where you blew it. Although you had full scholarship, you mentioned your school and your bro as your sponsor. Too bad you bro balance was too low to afford fees and upkeep. Next time, write "Full Scholarship" only in that place and put your room and board at a 8,000 while others can be 4,000. All in all ensure what you write in room and board plus others is 10,000 and above. You can then get a letter of support from your brother and his account balance read 700k -1m. Analyze my list of documents submitted. You have a profile similar to mine.

My sincere appreciation to Nony1, Yemdogg, and TheSoj, I almost made the same mistake.

Please, before you submit, the opinions of knowledgeable persons on your app. Personally, I frustrated TheSoj with questions so much that he started saying " we talked about this before na, I'm sure you know this na,etc". Also, don't just like post on this thread, use you like and share button to track informations that you believe will be useful for your application

Also, let us review successful people's list of documents submitted and construct ours from it. It is usually on page one of every part, thanks to those in-charge. I used it for mine, and thank God my case was successful. In most cases, the road to success is well defined but most people don't see it.

Just my opinions. No man is an island of knowledge. Wish us all the best.
Please
I would like to know how you fill your fund available space. Thanks

I saw it.
You stated 19000...

The Vo might have thought you only got funding for first year and that you might have to work to fund the second here.

If your program is 2 years, in the place for available funding, (if you are funded for 2 years) put the total amount for 2 years+ any amount you might have received from sponsors.

That way, the issue of funding is covered.

Just my opinion though.
Thank you maziude, with this information above make me feel happy. I am very clear with this information about tickling funding section.
It will surely end in praise. One love everyone.
