Politics › Was The Vice President So Tiny And Irrelevant For This Public Embarrasment? by petokey(op): 11:34am On Dec 22, 2015
The Speaker of the House of Representative during his vote of thanks today either delibrately or by oversight, did not acknowledge the presence of the Vice President.

And nobody around him noticed that blunder and its rather unfortunate.

My advice: Osinbajo, concentrate on your pastoral duties and appear on public political functions strictly on invitation.

And for the budget presentation: it is promising, but implimentation is the key.
SO PRESIDO, WE ARE WAITING AND WATCHING.

GOD BLESS NIAJA.

Nairaland General › Muslims Shield Christians In Kenya Attack. by petokey(op): 7:15pm On Dec 21, 2015
A group of Kenyan Muslims travelling on a bus attacked by Islamist gunmen protect Christian passengers by refusing to be split into groups, according to eyewitnesses.

"The locals showed a sense of patriotism and
belonging to each other," Mandera governor Ali
Roba told Kenya's private Daily Nation
newspaper.

I am wondering when Nigerians will become as loving and defensive like this, irrespective of our religion.

It is a reoccurring decimal here in Nairaland and even other social media where we call the President all sort of ridiculous names.

Whether we like it or not, the man will be the President for the next four years. So why the unnecessary hate comments?

In Democracy, majority carries the vote, so even if we didn't vote for him, its most unfortunate that he is now the President of all citizens of Nigeria. Therefore, the least we could do is to support him for the interest of our beloved country Nigeria.

PRAY that God should give him Wisdom instead of calling him a Dull'ard.
Except if you are proud to have a dull'ard as your President.
Be proud to call him your President instead of calling him names like BUBU, BOO'HARI, BULLHARI(what ever that means).

LET ME SHARE MY EXPERIENCE!!

As an SUG Presidential aspirant those days in school. I was robbed of the position even when it appears i was winning the election.
The election became inconclusive because of ballot box snatching and violence that crippled the peaceful process.

My opponents and his supporters were ready to go at any length to make sure that the election was not concluded. Thereby employing hoodlums and machineries outside the school who overpowered the school security, stabbing innocent students and disrupting lectures.

To cut the story short, i was ask to step down after much delibrations and considerations with the School Management and was offered the position of the Vice President as a form of compensation for peace to rain.
But i politely refuse the offer, simply because i can't find myself answerable to a dull'ard who became the SUG President by appointement against the student's mandate.
A decision i came to regret later.

Why am i narrating this story?

Politics in tertiary institutions in the North is a Religious battle, and we the Christians are been overpowered because we tend to do things peacefully and rationally as it ought to be. Unlike the Muslims(no offence) who sees it as a do or die affair.

My not-accepting that offer and my i-don't-care attitude towards that administration did me and my supporters more harm than good because major decisions on student's welfare were made that didn't really favour me and my people.

So i learnt my lesson. I called him a dull'ard then, but whether i liked it or not, he was the SUG president. All the students including myself was under him. So why the hate? I asked myself.

Remember there is power in the tongue. You will obviously get what you prophese or proclaim.

Taking a queue from the Americans, our comments should always end with "GOD BLESS THE PRESIDENT, GOD BLESS NIGERIA". And sometimes we can even say GOD IS A NIGERIAN, afterrall, whatever you believe works for you.

Romance › 8 Ways To Know A Lady Is Not Ready For Marriage. by petokey(op):
This is a counter thread to wristbangle's post. I will counter her list before mentioning my own list.

It beats my imagination also to see ladies who are so despirate to get married thereby forgetting that marriage is a life time agreement, hence the alarming rate of divorce.

@wristbangle, Almost all the list you mentioned are signs that the guy has not met the right lady yet. Let me tell you how...

1. HE KEEPS SEVERAL GIRL FRIENDS.
Its ridiculous to liken this set of guys with a Rooster/Cøck. Keeping several girlfriends doesn't mean he is keeping several sèxmaté or chasing anything under skirt.
Am not trying to justify flirting but.... THE GUY IS ONLY LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT GIRL TO WIFE PERIOD.

2. BEING TOO DEPENDENT ON PARENTS

I humbly disagree with this. This is only common among students and not grown up men as you rightly stated.
And if a guy has to cook up stories to extort money from his parent, it simply means a LADY is behind it. He must be trying to impress a lady i guess.
So you tell me, if that lady fustrating the guy to do this, is good to be a wife?

Am not trying to justify anything here but....LADIES SHOULD STOP MAKING RELATIONSHIPS THEIR JOB OPPORTUNITY AND GUYS WON'T HAVE ANY REASON TO DO THE AFOREMENTION TRICK.

3. UNCONTROLLED SPENDING

A man in his right senses doesn't spend uncontrollably without a reason. Its either he has more than enough or he is trying to impress a lady.
If a guy doesn't spend, wristbangle will say he is a stingy guy she can't marry him but now he spends and wristbangle says it is an uncontrolled spending.
Am not trying to justify anything here but.... LADIES DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT THEY WANT.

4. LAZINESS AND IDLENESS
Mind you, not everybody who appear lazy and idle actually are. They can be entrepreneurs who wants to study the environment and to know what the people wants. You can call it secret survey and market feasibility. They can also be undercover agents/ state C.I.D hence the clusters at jedi jedi seller.
But for those who truely are lazy and idle, hmmm! Am not trying to justify anything here but... NO JOBS, SO BLAME THE ECONOMY.

5. EATING AND SLEEPING AT FRIENDS HOUSE.

@wristbangle, like seriously?.... If you can't marry a guy who has a trusted friend, then be prepared to marry a loner who probably is a criminal, thereby doesn't have friends.
Thank God you didn't say "...at a lady's house". Am not trying to justify anything here but...LADIES MARRY GUYS WHO HAS CLOSE AND TRUSTED FRIENDS, BECOS YOU KNOW HIM MORE THROUGH HIS FRIENDS.

6.POOR PERCEPTION ABOUT LOVE.
And if a guy can't spend on his girlfriend, she says he doesn't love her. Then she goes for an aristo "because of the money". Am not trying to justify anything here but... WHO THEN HAS A POOR PERCEPTION ABOUT LOVE?

7. BEING TOO PROUD TO APOLOGISE

I agree with you on this but not completly. Naturally, Men are superior beings. Am not trying to justify anything here but...LADIES LEARN TO BE SUBMISSIVE TO YOUR GUY, THATS HOW IT HAS BEEN SINCE TIME IMMEMORIAL. DON'T TRY TO CHANGE IT.

8. POOR RELIGIOUS LIFE.
This is you judging guys. Are you God? @wristbangle, abi na you holy pass?
Am not trying to justify anything but... JUDGE NOT SO THAT YOU WILL NOT BE JUDGED.

8 WAYS TO KNOW THAT A LADY IS NOT READY FOR MARRIAGE.

1.SHE KEEPS USELESS GIRL FRIENDS AND ARISTO.

2. SHE IS OVER DEPENDENT ON HER BOYFRIEND.

3. SHE IS TOO MATERIALISTIC.

4. SHE PARTIES AND GO CLUBING FREQUENTLY.

5. SHE GOSSIPS AND CHIT-CHATS WITH USELESS GIRLS FREQUENTLY.

6. SHE DOESN'T BELIEVE IN LOVE.

7. SHE HATES AUTHORITY (she doesn't like been told what to do)

8. SHE JUDGES GUYS BASE ON THEIR RELIOUS BELIEVE.

Learning, they say, is a continous process. You stop learning when you are 6feet below the earth surface.

It all started with Dasuki, then Buhari and now Ekiti. What is the significance of the suffix '-gate' added to the above names during their trend on tweeter?

#Dasukigate
#Buharigate
#Ekitigate.

Am just curious to know likewise other ignorant ones who don't know and are either too proud or too shy to ask.

Its seems i am the only one that saw this report...

Nigerian women are the most unfaithful in the world! This is the conclusion arrived at by Durex in a survey it conducted on women across the world. The survey had interviewed 29,000 women across 36 countries of the world, including Nigerians to arrive at this. According to the report, Nigerian women scored a total of 62% to beat 35 other countries to the first position.
The survey listed Thailand women as second most unfaithful in the world after scoring 59%. Malaysian women came third with 39%. Russian women scored 33% for the fourth position while Singaporeans came fifth with 19%...
