Pls can you suggest schools that doesn't require Wes evaluation? Thanks.

Remember that there are thousands of colleges in the US, so it’s not easy to list schools. If someone recommends Havard, MIT, Uni penn and Vanderbilt, would you apply to them? grin
Most of the schools in the US don’t require WES.
So, saying your intended course of study, the range where your GPA falls, whether you want to take standardized exams etc will help guide anyone who wants to recommend schools to you.
Btw, most schools that don’t require WES still accept it if you have it.
Some people deliberately do WES evaluation because their schools in Naija don’t give them a copy of their transcript. Those schools want you to keep applying for transcript for each grad school application. The school sends the transcript directly to the grad school. So to bypass that, people apply for WES evaluation and WES sends them a copy, and they can use that copy to apply to ANY school.

Most of the Schools that require WES are in the south: Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee etc.
Most Hostorically Black Colleges and Universities(HBCU) also require WES.

Please I need assistance.
I am currently looking for a course to apply for Masters in SLU Saint Louis University in the states.
I have been advised to do a STEM related course. However, my Bachelor degree is in Theatre Arts and I am currently working as a Customer care rep in a Telecom company at the moment.
Please I need advise on nice courses I can apply for that would grant post study visa and employment opportunities.

Yes it is advisable to do a STEM related course because it would grant you one year work authorization with two years extension . A non-STEM related course will grant you one year work authorization.
I would advise that you apply to programs that would grant you admission and maybe funding. With my BA, I would choose a Masters in Public Admin, get admission and funding over a masters in information systems that won’t grant funding. Even though both programs are interdisciplinary and one offers 3 years work authorization, chances of visa approval would take priority. In the US, after the first semester, I can transfer to the MIS. I just traded 4 months for visa approval.
Follow your dreams though grin That’s just my opinion.

It will be nice to know how you calculated yours.Thanks.

I didn't calculate it. Based on the original WES-evaluated transcripts I have seen, 3.3, 3.4 and 3.61 on the 5-point scale were 3.09, 3.16 and 3.22 respectively on the 4-point scale. So yours will definitely be between those values.
You can get an estimated value by using the online WES calculator but you will have to fill in the grades and the units of each of your courses.

That is 2.81 on a scale of 4. But note, sometimes those schools factors in your core courses and remove the unnecessary ones.

I don't know if someone else has corrected this in the previous posts. A CGPA of 3.52/5 will not give a CGPA of 2.81/4. It will be 3.1/4 at least.

Thanks.

We need to learn to appreciate good websites at least with nice comments. After all, Nigerians hardly donate to support any website.

Yes that’s right

The football pitch of Liberty stadium is not bad at all. Making it FIFA standard will require little funds but when the budget comes out, we will see 10 figures. undecided

Copy which post please?

I believe you are learned enough. I just shared the views I agree with. And it was a 27 page PDF compiled by Profagas, who I mentioned in the post. Such spuriosity. sad

Sir/ma, you only appreciated Mr Profgas at the tail end of your post.
The ‘these are my views’ simply means you composed everything all by yourself.
It’s alright anyway.
The issue has been put to bed already. I’m sorry for bringing it up.

How long does it take schools to acknowledge receipt of test scores in USA. I sat for GRE on Nov 19th. And my applications still shows that they haven’t received it.
Also, i applies to a school in HongKong as a back up, but they haven’t received my toefl scores which I had sent since 4 weeks ago.

You don’t have a problem so far you are sure you sent the scores to the schools. You can just mail the grad school or the Admissions office asking them if they’ve received the scores. The scores would have reached them a long time ago.

The guy above extracted his post from PROFAGAS GRE testimony (he had 331-Q167, V164) and study plan explanation.

I have screen grabbed the pertinent information in the document and share it here. it contains important key points that proved valuable in my personal GRE preparation.

But the main thing is each person should learn from others and formulate there personal approach.

Hmmm. Thank you.
I wonder why he had to copy the post.

GRE: 297
GPA: 3.4/4

Most of the schools you listed are highly ranked and it will be difficult to get in with your GRE score.
MIT(top 3)
Penn State(top50)
Michigan and Austin are also highly ranked.
I don’t know about others.
Try to Search for schools that are lower than them in rank.

GRE score : 300 (Verbal 144. Quant 156)

Please suggest schools that can give funding for Geosciences or environmental science.

Please start your application to GSU.
There is an environmental science program. I believe you will get the funding

They were wrong .

They should have given her scholarship for promoting the image of their school.

And maybe compensate her for the stress she went through while filming the video .

It’s difficult to add sense to this. Even if there is a way to do so, It will still remain senseless.

With all due respect sir, his profile is seemingly perfect and AWA in most schools is the least of consideration for admission amidst other requirements like SOP, GPA and LOR etc.

I perfectly agree with you. Most times 3.0 is the least score required in that section. That's even if the school checks it at all(as you rightly mentioned).
I actually made my comment based on his/her statement: ....not impressive....
If a score of 290 is not impressive to your friend, you'll advice him/her to rewrite. Here, this person had a score of 319, yet its not impressive to him/her.....then rewriting is the only alternative.

The scores are okay but you can consider rewriting the exam so you can improve on your AW and verbal scores. You'll also pray that the quant score Is > or = this current one.
