What is all these U can speak English o...Just let it go guys. Someple here won't get the job it's guaranteed. So let's leave the animosity and help as many as possible. We should be dropping hints here on how to do well at AC and not all these unnecessary jabs. Scented: So where does being signed to a company(still working with them) have a connection with meaning you are under oath or something not to give insight to someone concerning your exact salary structure? If the professional world sees salary structure as something to make a mystery of then why do hiring firms ask about your present salary when interviewing you for a position? why don't you mystify it there too? you guys state it there because its for your personal good and gain but when it comes to giving such information to help others you guys turn it to mystery because you feel you are not gaining from it. selfish self of folks who care about only themselves.
And hey, mayoor15 i have a job okay? so dont give me that "why you get your job" line, i have never made it an issue to state my salary to people who want to know for decision making purposes like job seekers. and also, when you get your job, take an oath of secrecy never to state your salary to any living soul, stamp the oath, take in and hide in the cave of primitiveness where you belong. |

I dont know why they are 'going fighting' o...hmmmn mayoor15: *Chai, Much dust in d building*,
Don't know why you guys are going fighting over salary for a job u never get, why not search first bank salary on Google, it will give you hints enough to make you decisions and BTW, who doesn't know that only GTB, DIAMOND and ACCESS pays above 200k for entry level, other banks pays between 140-180, put your mind @ 140 after tax and other deductions, many of us will understand when we get some of these jobs that you don't just come online and state your salary when you are still signed to the organisation, we've overblown the fact that this is a faceless forum, but who told you organisations can't find out d person under each moniker, let just face d real business, success to those having their AC tomorrow.
*sweeps my way out of the thread* |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 2016 Firstbank Graduate Trainee Programme by philvirus: 2:46pm On Jun 16, 2017 |
Are we actually not more than 300? The crowd at Anthony was massive o... prettyboy5: To all those surprised with the little arguments concerning salaries and all, you guys must be joking, you think when you have the very best minds and intelligent brains in the country all scheduled for assessment you would not see arguments coming up? Do you know how many people applied for FBN GTP 2016 and how many wrote the tests all over Nigeria? Presently we that have been invited for AC are not more than 300 so i hail all the intelligent minds around on the thread, never forget you guys are some of the best brains out there, AC then would look to get the best out of the best.
But i support those who argued that knowing exact salary range is necessary, its a right that we job seekers deserve to know, anyone arguing against that fact is definitely still in the stone ages and needs to wake up. When i hear people say some people are not comfortable mentioning salaries i just cringe, like seriously this is an online forum so if you give people an exact range of it would your salary reduce? Nigerians need to grow up from this olden days way of thinking. |

oga, stop that thing. lagos is safe. The only state u can walk on the road at 3AM. Scented: What i wanna do is to arrive Lagos 2-3 days before my AC date, go to the AC center a day before to check the place out, and book for any hotel that's closest to that location, something of a stone throw away, so i wouldn't need to stress myself in the morning rushing town to the AC center by 5am to beat traffic, and Lagos is not even safe for such movement at such a time. |

Thanks man. Been really helpful. ay4sho: Hello guys
To those asking if I am in FBN... I think I have answered that already in my initial post.
How much FBN pays for new entry. Salary is not static and could change any moment. Let's worry about salary after you have passed the AC.
For directions. Your best way in is through Costain. From Costain take Keke going to Eric Moore. Drop at FirstBank. Tell the Keke Man. It's very popular.
Good luck to the First batch. Wishing you success. |

Yep. Thanks. sorzy1: Ok sir. FBN holdings is the parent company of First Bank Nigeria Limited and its subsidiaries (which is under FBN holdings' commercial banking group), FBN Quest and it's subsidiaries (FBN Merchant Bank Limited, FBN Capital Limited, FBN Securities Limited etcetera), and Insurance group and it's subsidiaries (FBNInsurance, FBN Insurance Brokers and FBN General Insurance). Hope it is clear now? |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 2016 Firstbank Graduate Trainee Programme by philvirus: 4:18pm On Jun 15, 2017 |
sorzy1: Sir, FBN Holdings is not a subsidiary of First Bank Nigeria, but rather First Bank Nigeria limited and its subsidiaries which include its branches outside the shores of Nigeria, First Pension Custodian Limited and FBN Mortgages Limited is under the commercial banking group of FBN holdings, another group under FBN holdings is First quest and its subsidiaries which include but are not limited to FBN Merchant Bank Limited, FBN Capital Limited, FBN Securities Limited etcetra. The last group under FBN holdings is it's insurance group and it's subsidiaries which includes FBN Insurance, FBN Insurance brokers and FBN General Insurance. Thanks I'm lost. can u make this clearer? no vex. |

This is actually a valid question. Jaykizz: This page has been very interesting and insightful, tanx to the gurus and employees of First Bank. However I need to know if this graduate trainee program includes First Bank retail banking and her subsidiaries? (First Holdings, First Quest, First Capital, First Securities and so on). I want to be sure the recruitment is not limited to commercial banking. Anyone in the house that has information should kindly share. Tanx in anticipation. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 2016 Firstbank Graduate Trainee Programme by philvirus: 10:58pm On Jun 13, 2017 |
Thanks bro. Someone wants to charge us 5k for this. ay4sho: First of all, congrats to all who got the invite to the AC, don't rejoice yet cos this is d toughest stage of the selection process (Don't mean to scare you). The best out of d best would be selected So you need to bring your A-game, you may not have a second chance.
Listen carefully and follow the info below. It may just help you.
There are 5 Stages.
1. Ability/Scenario test. 2. Group Task 3. Computer Test 4. Presentation 5. Interview.
After accreditation, U will have an ability test where u'll have to think thru the scenario and choose answers from the options provided.
Group Task. You will be divided into groups and then u'll be given a scenario to discuss with ur group. Don't argue or shout any1 down, nor interrupt, make sure U give points and make reasonable sense, don't repeat ur suggestions or findings. Smile while responding and remember you are not competing against d members of your group rather against everyone there. So don't try to be the starlight in your group. Just make your group shine.
For Computer Task. You would be given btw 15-20 mins to read the case and prepare your power point slides. You shouldn't have more than 6-10slides, if you don't know how to prepare PP slides... Start learning now. Don't write stories, just give bullet points then explain thats why its called a powerpoint presentation.
For Presentation. Here you would be presenting the PP you created yourself. Remember to intoduce urself and what u are presenting. Be confident and bold, smile and focused, dont stutter or sound unsure, be sure of whatever point u make, even when they counter U and say u r wrong, insist and try to give a better explanation for that point. Also thank d panel @ d end of ur presentation. Presentation is 5mins so go straight to d point and don't give unnecessary explanations. Time management is key.
Interview. I call it the "How" interview, cos you would be answering the question "How?" a lot. Question on strenght. weakness, leadership skills, use of initiative, creativity and innovation, process improvement, team spirit and many more. Dont forget the question is How... So you would have to explain how you have exhibited this traits. If u fit lie, lie ooo, nobody go ask U if na true or na lie, but it must be full proof, cos a follow up question may arise. what is ur passion, why firstbank, why do u think we shld hire U, then know stuffs about FBN generally and read different interview questions.
And most of all commit all to God and ask 4 favour.
Please note. Workforce handled the last two AC and HCP is handling this one, some things may change but the idea is still d same and knowing FBN, the process would definitely be same but may add a little twist. Just prepare for the worse and expect the best.
Be prepared mentally, physically and spiritually.
Wish u all success and the best. Cheers.
This is from someone who was at the last AC in 2013 and made it to training sch and FBN.
Regards. Ay4sho
I may still be around to answer some questions or pop in once in a while. This is my way of giving back, cos I benefited from info given by a good Samaritan here on NL also.
Believe me FBN training school is the best in d country, you don't want to miss out. Story for another day. |
