Politics › Did Obi Lie About The Value Of His Investment In International Brewery? by PHIPEX(op): 6:13pm On Jun 24, 2022 |
In response to this https://www.nairaland.com/7194893/never-said-investment-sabmiller-nowI believe things should be put in context when they are reported in the news. The interview being referenced was in 2018/2019. Everyone with knowledge of how investments are valued knows the value of a company or business is not always constant. At the time the interview was made, the share price of the company was around #40 per share and his investment was rightly over #100m. IAs at now the price crashed to #5 as a result of the poor state of the Nigerian economy in the recent years which crashed the value of Naira against the dollar. See the graph showing the movement of the shares of the company below as reference. you can see it even crossed #50 per share around 2019. HE WAS 100% CORRECT lalastilala

Why are people so mischievious. This interview was in 2018 when the shares was at #50 and the investment truely worth 100m. Now the shares is down to #5, Why judging 2018 interview with today's reality? |

dplordx: Ibos love lies so so much Does that look like a 21 year old? Mumu Go meet the Scotland Police and argue with your detained organ harvesting senator What proof do you have to the contrary? Except there is a birth certificate that shows a contrary age, everyone will rely on the passport which is an official document. There is a possibility the Senator might be innocent even though we know most of our politicians are crooks. |

O Fibonacci88: I trust the UK to do a thorough job. This is not Nigeria where known criminals are granted bail. If the Ekweremadus are found guilty, which I know they are that's the end for them. Some of u bringing letter that he informed the embassy are clowns. Was he going to smuggle guy into uk b4? Am sure the young man isn't aware he was traveling for his organ to be harvested and dumped back to Nigeria to start roaming the street again while Ekweremadu daughter continue living fly. The story that the organ didn't match is laughable. Why will any sane person go through all these traveling procedure without confirming that d donor is a match. My mind tells me the senator is guilty. Don't underestimate the wickedness of this Nigerian politicians. How can you say you are sure when you didn't even read the letter. |

TooNoisy: When Obi was Governor, Anambra doctors were on strike for 13 months. You can Google it. It is all over the Internet. People died and he did not care. Why? His family either received treatment in Lagos or abroad.
When Obi was Governor of Anambra, Anambra ASUU was on strike for 6 months. Google is your friend. He did not care because his children schooled in England.
The Investment he made in International Breweries was not just bad for Anambra but a conflict of interest. Anambra paid 2billion naira for that failed investment but he awarded his family 1 billion without paying any cost. Peter Obi should be in jail if Nigeria had strong judiciary. No wonder he was impeached. Doctors went on strike because of a new FG policy and he saved it once and for all. ASUU, a national association was on strike and he solved it once and for all for Anambra, till date no ASUU strike in Anambra, that's leadership |

Very interesting how the Igbos have survived Buhari's horror and still waxing stronger. Going by the events of 2015, many thought that by now Igbos would be on their knees begging Buhari for survival.
Begging US and UK to proscribe IPOB means they have exhausted all the options they have in the plot against IPOB. |

You blame IPOB in far away Cross Rivers state without investigation, where is the driver of the vehicle, who imported the items, who cleared them from the port, where were they taking the item to etc? All it takes to close a criminal case in Nigeria is to tag IPOB.
Am surprised the Owo incidence was not tagged on IPOB |

omohayek: Snooze ... If anyone owes anyone else an apology, it's you and your kind, attempting to use 2018 stats to bamboozle the unsuspecting in 2022. Would it kill you to feel a little shame, and show contrition by refraining from the endless propaganda and the invented quotes you put in the mouths of others to make your candidate out as something more than the empty tribal vessel he is? It is you who was too lazy to research an information before writing an epistle in support of your demigod and to damage his reputation, ypu rushed to call him a liar even when you are the liar. Obi owes you no apology for granting an interview in 2018 but Nigeria poor education quality makes every one regurgitate infor without proper fact checks. Imagine a whole news media Cable fact checking a 2018 interview with 2022 share prices and dollar price, isn't that dunce? |

casualobserver: Nobody said he stole. I will argue against anyone who says Obi is a thief. The problem with Obi is that he lies effortlessly. EFCc is not going to investigate anyone for dubious handover notes.
Atiku and Tinubu are shifty we know this. The problem is Peter Obi and his supporters are touting him as a man who is clean when in fact the whole Peter Obi phenomenon is based on lies, half truth and the manipulation of gullible desperate supporters clinging for anyone who is different but not discerning enough to navigate the BS. I was a Peter OBi disciple myself when he came to prominence on the platform, then I started to examine him closely he started to unravel. His biggest problem is he enjoys the limelight and he talks too much. So the more he talks the more he unravels because there is nothing underneath the rhetoric. The more he talks the more he lies for no reason because he has no track record to back the persona and hype he has created for himself. There was no lie in what he said when the interview was made over 3 years ago. The calculations were accurate using the share price and dollar value 3 years ago. Your Buhari killed investments in Nigeria |
Politics › Re: Peter Obi Invested N1.96 Billion And The Value Now Is N2.24 Billion (picture) by PHIPEX(m): 11:09am On Jun 22, 2022 |
omohayek: I think you've actually bent too far backwards here in your attempt to be "fair" to the Obi worshippers, by letting this empty shell of a "debunking" reach the first page. The OP's write-up in no way "debunks" the original claim by Obi, which is that a USD $5 million investment of public money he made was now worth USD $100 million - a claim in which the exchange value of the Naira plays absolutely no role whatsoever.
It would be one thing if Obi hadn't said anything in the first place, and people just started attacking him out of the blue, but that isn't what happened: he chose to make the claim about turning USD $5 million into USD $100 million, a claim he must have known to be a lie. Obi made the claim anyway, safe in the knowledge that his uncritical followers would magnify it ad nauseum on social media, without once stopping to ask themselves what the evidence behind it was. Peter Obi is a liar and (at best) a tax-dodging law-breaker who was exposed by the Pandora Papers investigation, and no amount of noise-making or threats by those pushing lies on his behalf online will succeed in repacking this politician without core principles or even a policy platform close to smelling Aso Rock. You think you are smart but empty. The interview was over 3 years ago when the company share price was around #40 per share. Your god Buhari supported by Tinubu killed Nigeria economy crashing share prices and naira value to what it is today, the share price is now down at #5. Calculate the value using the share price and dollar price when the interview was made in 2018 then return here with an apology |

festacman: In Nigeria, the victory at the presidential polls is sum total of the effort of local political heavyweights in their wards and constituencies. That's structure. Does Labour Party or Peter Obi Campaign Organization has political influencers all over Nigeria?
Another major challenge facing Peter Obi is that he is the sole financier of his presidential bid. And presidential campaign sure requires massive funding with substantial leakages caused by people who would collect money without doing assigned task. Can Peter Obi open up his wallet wide when winning is not 100%? We vote not because of any heavy weight in a ward but because of what we hear in the news. Do political parties drag people out of their house to vote? the answer is no. 99% of people who voted in the past elections had nothing to do with political parties, they simply liked or related to the contestants in one way or another. |

EnglandAmaka: Going through the primaries, you will realise that the 109 senators and the 360 house of rep members never actually read through the new electoral amendment act.
They were just screaming, "Mr President sign! Sign! Sign!" without even knowing what they have sent to him to sign. To sound elitist, a lot people kept disturbing our eyes and ears with .. "Muhammadu Buhari is scared of signing!".. what do you know was to be signed.. These lots never showed their constituencies!
From the selection of only delegates.. these funny politicians didn't even know when they wrote off their statutory delegates!
Like football coaches, it was their duty to inform their parties that the game has changed!
They don't even know when they nipped in what made the Yørúbas opt for another candidate other than Yemi Osibanjo, because a VP who has done 2 terms can now only do a one term as president.
This was where Ebele Goodluck Jonathan was seeking for clarification, to know if he is still eligible because, he has done VP that jumped into two terms and a one term President.
PDP has not told their supporters that by the new electoral laws, Atiku Abubakar can only do a one term, haven done 2 terms as VP.
The new law does not permit anyone who has contested for primaries in one party to skip to another for any position in the same election year. So the Mr.Peter Obi coming to PDP or NNPP Kwankwasiya teaming with Peter Obi is gone.
The law does not even permit that any of those that has contested for any position to take up any other in the same year.. so the story of Nyesom Wike or Yahaya Bello, being a VP is off for 2023 cos they can't aspire for president and VP in the same electoral year.
Senate President Ahmed Lawan, Akpabio, Bagudu etc who have variously contested can not vie for senatorial position or Vice Presidency respectively..
In fact, the scenerio that made Atiku a VP can't happen again, where he won as governor and was later picked by Olusegun Obasanjo.
A beg as you are struggling to get your PVC, struggle to know the rules of the game! Go and read and understand the Electoral Laws. With this analysis, what about Tambuwal that contested for president and still got Senate ticket? |
