Hello, where did you do your upfront medical and I have you complained to them about the medical request from CIC? I will advise you to use the webform and use Lagos office to complain, attach the medical request and the medical form. If no feedback for 2weeks, please visit the clinic to resend your medical results with the medical request. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp?_ga=2.146488819.611153655.1529209880-204023929.1523765247 Jewel80: I heard applications are also processed in Turkey and Dubai? Please does anyone have their email address? So i can send them a mail too concerning the upront med i did...I have sent to London, Ghana, Nairobi and Lagos |

Congrats. Kindly take your passport and the slip you got from VFS when you competed biometric. Congrats again yuloz: Hi Everyone, I just got a passport request and not approval letter. Hope this is a good thing? A little bit on profile. I have applied three times. Denied twice, this is my third time applying. The only difference I did this time was to submit my personal account, and not just my sponsor, even though it wasn't a lot of amount, but I guess the VO wanted to see my own personal account. Please how do I submit my passport. Is it at VFS office, do I need to book an appointment? Thank you |

Congrats nivlek000: Hi Guys!
I'm super excited. Finally Got approved!
My hugging partner harde116 up next!
Applied on 20th of April,
Did medical upfront
Applied for an MSc Degree
Didn't get an Approval mail just checked online as soon as I saw Harde116 had his medical request
I applied with: The required online documents IMXXXX Sponsorship Letter Sponsors Investment Letters (Treasury Bills) Payment Instructions for Part Payment SWIFT Message Confirming Successful Transfer of Part Payment Funds Sponsors Bank Account Statement (4 months) Admission Acceptance Fee Payment Notification Employment Letter for My Current Job Admission Letter from School A 2 page SOP in the Client Information section Proof of Medical Exam Passport Photo Scanned Passport and Visa Pages
Note the following: 1. Up until today only Biometrics showed Completed and Background check has been running since, Eligibility just went under review on the online platform too. Still there
2. Also, according to the document (and like I was informed in this group even as I found it hard to belive), visa will only be issued for till the expiry of the passport so I'll apply for an extension when I'm in Canada by Gods Grace after renewing my Passport when I land in Ontario (not my final destination). I didn't renew my passport because of the 9 or 6 months renewal rule. Chose not to renew my passport after I submitted because I applied based on the current passport data. Also because I read somewhere about the passport having to be more than 6 months old (I doubt the veracity though but better safe than sorry)
3. You're the first people I'm sharing this news with. I really appreciate this forum.
4. Nursing malaria's gonna wait cuz this Nigga's driving to VFS asap.
Thank you all for your assistance and hope. #GodsGrace |

All the best bro. don2207: Hello All,
I just received a message today after 10 weeks of waiting . . .application denied and the only box ticked was for PURPOSE OF VISIT. I guess my intuition was right, like I mentioned in my post yesterday I was a bit care free with my application and only started frequenting this thread after submission.
I applied for a certificate program to study Civil Technician in Assiniboine College, Brandon. I pretty much have every possible documents.. . I presently work in a federal ministry, also an executive in an active private company in the federal capital. I have participated in international conferences and deal negotiations. Sadly, my over 7 years experience is way higher than my proposed program of study.
Thanks to everyone here, I have gained so much knowledge and thanks to @PHOCUSJOSH for not letting me waste my money today since I was proposing to go ahead with my medicals despite not receiving information to do so because of my intended trip to the UK. Sincerely, i got tired of waiting.
I encourage every new applicant to go to page one on this thread, digest and process every available information, understand the frequent reasons why Visa applications are rejected and do your possible best to address every of this issue. A robust statement of purpose might be all you need to boost your chances of getting a positive response. Thanks guys....I'll request immediately for my GCMS note while I proceed to my plan B. |

Congrats on your medical request, is a good sign. IOM is okay and Children practice is also good. This is a sample I sent to them after 15 weeks of no update, I got approved after they responded to it. I also attached my medical request letter, biometric collection letter and submission confirmation. Dear Visa Officer, I, my name, with Nigerian passport number *******, a principal applicant for Canadian study permit submitted my application online on 12th of March 2018, completed my Biometrics at Lagos Visa Application Centres (VAC) on 16th of March 2018, I received an update to complete Medical Examinations May 1, 2018, completed my Medical Examination at The Children's Practice and the Consultants Practice, Lagos on May 3, 2018 and it was updated on the 6th of May 2018. After my medical, I am yet to get feedback as regards my application. Currently the Canadian Study Permit Application Processing Times is 9 weeks for Nigerian Applicants, and this is the 15th week I submitted my application. Please let me know if you need any other details or if you have any questions. I look forward to a favorable response from your reputable office. Thank you. Best regards! ( blaqnony: Please I intend to send a webform soon, what should be the content of the Enquiry Message section on the form?
Also should I send mails too ? |

How's life at one of the FVEY countries? thesoj: I remember you sent a few emails my way earlier in the year but I couldn't help as promised -- been unbelievably busy this year. But I am very happy to hear that your well put-together application (I went through the files you sent me) scaled through. |

To the bolded above, you can't do upfront medical after you have submitted your application, you can only wait for CIC to request for medical. All the very best don2207: We do have quite a similar situation here. I submitted via online route on the 19th of April, did my biometrics on the 23rd, my completed biometrics did reflect in my application status. However, no other update since then.
It's been 10 weeks of waiting patiently and tirelessly, it's almost like my whole life is on pause mode. Some 10 days ago, I sent a mail to all the available email addresses I got from this section, I was promptly replied by the Kenya and Lagos offices but apparently, my application is being processed in Lagos.
I am keen on getting a decision from them, sadly the duration is messing up my other plans. I already secured an admission into a University in Ireland as plan B.
I have decided to do my medicals UPFRONT tomorrow which I will have sent to them via e-mail....(I do not know how effective this might be). I will be traveling to the UK in 4 days and subsequently Germany for a series of meetings. I will be away from the country for about 3 weeks. Hopefully if my application is approved, I will submit my passport in any of the Countries I am at.
So you see, we are in the same situation.
There seem to be a trend of denied approvals for applicants who are self-sponsoring, this can be frightening sometimes because I certainly did overlook a few things while putting out my application but then again, fingers crossed!..
Also, a major thank you to everyone here for the good job, it is amazing how much I have learnt despite having already submitted my application before frequenting this section. I hope I receive a positive news pretty soon. To those denied applicants, it is never the end . . . just take the lessons and improve on your next application or have some other plans. Best wishes! |

Hello bro, I will advise you to use webform and use Lagos as the procession office. Try as much not to be desperate with your mail, ask them if they need additional info, remind them the processing times of 9weeks and your application is 12 weeks now. You can attach the cic letter of confirmation and biometric. All the best. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp?_ga=2.146488819.611153655.1529209880-204023929.1523765247harde116: Hey guys, please advise.
So i've been waiting for the next step from these guys, but nothing. I'm slated to be out of the country in a few weeks. I'm hopeful i get called for medicals before i travel as that would require my physical presence. However when approval comes and i'm asked to submit my passport, can i have my passport stamped outside my country of application?(NIGERIA) at least stamp na stamp na.
Not sure if i can courier my passport out and remain in another man's country.
Meanwhile, i sent a mail to london processing office without adding "URGENT" and i'm not even sure if they are the ones processing. They processed my visiting visa. Abeg, which other offices do you know? and can you send their emails so i send to all of them.lol cos me i'm tired abeg.
Applied since April 20th.
Thanks guys.
All the best to us all. |

Yes, you do have hope. The normal processing times is 9 weeks and hope for positive news anytime soon. blaqnony: Do we really have hope fellow Nairalanders, given our circumstance? I wonder why we have not be asked to do medicals after 8 weeks of application |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Phocusjosh(m): 10:03am On Jun 29, 2018 |
It does not mean your application is processed in Lagos and if you applied online, there is no way you can know where your application is being processed until final decision is made. I don't think you should be bothered about where your application is processed, just the positive decision should bother you more. CALA shows your application was submitted in Lagos. goingforward: Hi Nairalanders,
i asked this question a few days ago but no answer yet, it was swamped with the testimonies. I shall testify soon, by God's grace. Amen.
Please one question, if my application number starts with ''CALA''.
Does it mean my application is being processed in Lagos?
How do i know where my application is being processed?
Thanks |

Inasmuch your application has passed the normal processing times of 9 weeks you can contact them using the webform. Don't sound desperate, just remind them when you submitted and ask them if there is update. It shall end in praise http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp?_ga=2.146488819.611153655.1529209880-204023929.1523765247harde116: Congrats to everyone with approvals already. May God guide your steps.
Seeing what some of ya'all submitted is alone to scare somebody sef, but God dey
Meanwhile, i applied since April 20th and i have not heard pekem from them, and yes! quite a number of people that did after that have gotten feedbacks, even though i understand that application conditions are quite different. However, i would like to contact them to know what's going on or possibly see if that would help to make it faster. How best can i go about that?
Thank you. Cheers! |

Congrats bro. Let's talk at the back door ebirimonyinye: Okay so it's testimony time and I think I should also testify on this platform because aside God, all the information I got was through this thread.
I have been following this thread since 2016 and I have read every single comment unfortunately I am not the type that comments.
So I got an internship program in Turkey last year and aside gathering my documents and reading through I have been very afraid about applying from a county that my status is an intern. But to cut the long story short I was encouraged by Austinpee and Osemigho I know they may not remember, so I finally applied and 4 days after I was sent a medical request surprisingly.
Timeline Submitted application: May9 Medical call: May 12 Medical done:May 14 Medical passed: May 17 Passport request: June 13 Passport submitted: June 17 Updatef to Approved: June 22 with my correspondence letter. Passport pickup mail: June 22.
Documents submitted
*all CIC forms * Letter of Explanation/SOP *Offer of Admission letter from University of Manitoba (MA Disability Studies ) · Degree certificate and statement of result from B.Ed Special Education University of Ibadan. *(NYSC) certificate · *WAEC Result *Internship Letter of Acceptance * Letter of Explanation from the Organisation stating my internship program, duration passport number etc
Sponsor * Sister’s Employment: · Sister’s letter of sponsorship(LOS) *Offer letter from where she works *Letter of Confirmation from her current job· *Photocopy of her work ID card *Statement of Account showing closing balance of 535,727 NGN (1,892.66 CAD) *Employment offer letter from(previous employer) * My SOA * Copy of my Residence Permit and Government insurance from the school I intern * My Investment letter *My CV *Copy of email between I and the registrar’s office · *Certificate of Birth * Documents to prove the identity of my siblings ( I included all their certificates of birth and International passports data page) * Copies of my passport data page and previous visa pages *Copies of Certificates from where I worked/ volunteered
Note: I did not pay my tuition so my sister sent 7m to my account and stated in her letter that she send that sum as a commitment. And lastly prayers and fasting cos honestly speaking I was very afraid given that I was applying from another country and given that I did not pay my tuition and my sister's account balance was below 1m.
Don't be discouraged.! Shalom. God can do yours. |
