Family ties can be tackled with Birth certificates of siblings, marriage certificate of parents and as well write about your family like the love and how you intend to return to your family after your studies. Then purpose of visit can be well tackled with a good SOP by detailing your passion for computer information tech, educate the VO how maths and statistics relates well wit your intended course of study and explain into details the economic benefits of studying computer info tech. What is the economic opportunity you are trying to create and harness? Please be as specific as possible. What is your current job role and how does it relate with your course of study and link it with your long term goal. Why study leave for a 2-years program?? Hope your affidavit of return won't deter you from applying for PGWP after your PGD? 2page SOP ( was vetted it by a trusted guru) this is totally wrong and won't make someone else be willing to go through SOP, take full responsibility of the outcome of your application. All the best in your next application and ensure you request for GCMS note. OFFICIALAEL: Goodday House
My application got rejected today. I am thinking of reapplying since my intended program starts in September. My reason(s) for rejection is (are) stated below; I am not satisfied that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay. With the following ticked, travel history, family ties in Canada and in country of residence and purpose of visit.
I applied for a two year PGD program in computer information tech. -Studied Maths.statistics undergraduate level -Paid one year full tuition of 10k -Had 10k CAD in my dollar acc -Have three years working experience as IT support with Microsoft certification -26 years of age -letter of acceptance, schoolfees receipt -Personal documents submitted are IELTS, bsc cert, waec, employment letter, letter of introduction from coy, study leave grant, affidavit of return, 2page SOP (was vetted it by a trusted guru), intl PP, birth cert plus that of older siblings (all independent), salary bank statement (abt 200k balance), land gift deed from parents -Sponsors documents submitted are intl PP, letter from previous employer, retirement letter, personal account statement , fixed deposit statement, land docs, shares doc, letter of support, affidavit of sponsorship
Please with the above information what do you suggest I do as regards reapplying? Thanks |

The bolded is not true. I will advise you to create a spreadsheet or table detailing annual expenses vs funds available. This would be a concise summary of all your expenses, and all your sources of funds. It will make it easy for the VO to comprehend your finances. Then back up your funds available with your SOA with tuition + living expenses and other expenses as stated in IMM129E Form (Application for study permit made outside of Canada). It shall end in praise. goingforward: Hi @Asapant,
Thanks for your speedy response. It's not actually Dalhousie university. It's York University.
Why I am concerned is because I have read on this forum where several people stated that not making any payment of Tuition is not good for ones application.
My question is, if I leave the funds in my account to show the tuition money is available wouldn't it suffice.?
Plus is there anyone who has gotten study permit approved without paying Tuition.?
goingfoward. |

Hello bro, sorry bro. From the correspondence letter, you were rejected based on purpose of visit and insufficient finance. Firstly, to tackle purpose of visit, you have to write a very good statement of purpose because your undergraduate studies and employment are well related with your intended course of study. I will advise you explain into details why MEng Mech?, You will need to prove to the VO that your course has significant employment prospects in Nigeria, you will have to use this to prove your economic ties to Nigeria. Explain how exactly how MEng Mech will help you as a project officer. What is the economic opportunity you are trying to create and harness? Please be as specific as possible. Do some research into various aspects of mechanical engineering in Nigeria and specify how much that aspect of the economy is worth (in USD or CAD) and how exactly your Canada education would enable you to come back to Nigeria and revolutionalize your sector of interest. Go and do research online! Google for World Bank facts, or McKinsey, ADB facts, etc. Secondly, insufficient finance, this is easy to tackle with well explained analysis of your financials. Create a spreadsheet or table detailing annual expenses vs funds available. This would be a concise summary of all your expenses, and all your sources of funds. It will make it easy for the VO to comprehend your finances. Also, ensure your sponsor declare the specific amount he's releasing for your studies and as well explain the sources of his income. He can as well state how he intends to cope financially with his family after the withdrawals of your tuition and living expenses. Basically, he should include all possible info that the VO may wonder about and back up with evidence. Your GCMS will give you the exact reason(s) you were denied. Conclusively, follow your guts and involve God in your next application. It shall end in praise Lotusboi: Please help ooo. I’m trying to reapply by next week Submitted 4th April Applied for MEng Mech Previous background Bsc Mech. 2:1 Works in a Mortgage Bank as a Project Engineer (5 month) graduated last year Sponsor personal SOA= 1 million Properties worth 100 million plus Owns a Company submitted CAC documents Personal Treasury Bill of 23 million to Mature Sept Shares worth 9.2 million Travel history- Dubai & UK Rejected 29th May

Most probably, mine got updated immediately. I will advise you to contact VFS to complain. uyplus: That what? My biometrics is yet to be updated? Or should I wait to the end of this week and if nothing happens, then I send them 1 nextweek Monday? Do you think this delayed update on my page is an abnormal occurrence? |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Phocusjosh(m): 4:38pm On May 30, 2018 |
I'm concerned about your biometric. Why is it yet to be updated after five weeks of application? uyplus: Hi, this is the 5th week since I applied for my study permit! As at the time that I put in my application, the estimated processing time as stated in CIC site was 7weeks! I submitted via the paper route and even did my biometrics same day but it still hasn't been updated as completed. Eligibility review hasn't even commenced. The only thing that was updated on my page about 2weeks ago was my upfront medical report, which shows "passed medicals"! Is this slow normal? I submitted my application on the 27th of April, and my estimated time for a response is 15th June. I got admitted for a one year Masters of Public health at University of Western Ontario which is a highly ranked school in Canada and I am a Pharmacist.
Note: My school resumes 2nd September! |

Hello, CGPA conversion on a scale of 5.0 to 4.0 isn't done outrightly. There are some courses that are considered in conversion. Your grades in required courses are more considered than the totality of courses offered during your undergrad. odimbannamdi: Well, you may not be entirely wrong, especially since the bulk of my research for now has been on just one school, MUN. But then, their GPA requirement, as seen in the first attached picture, is written explicitly as 2.75 for 4 point scale. If you calculate it using the formular of proportionality, it converts to 3.43 for the 5 point scale.
If there are exceptions to the rule or unique conversion methods, i think it would have stated there. But then, your class of degree is not the only factor put into consideration as ample years of experience and excellent GMAT score could also make up for tje shortfall in your degree class. See attached pic |

if you are called for medical, you are required to undergo the medical examination within 30 days of the date of cic request. Failure to do so may result in the refusal of your immigration application. All the best. harde116: Hi guys, i hail una.
Please who has an idea how this works? I applied for over 5weeks now and till now, i have not heard shingbain from CIC. However, i need to make a travel to the US next month and would be there for a couple of weeks. Now i don't know when i would be contacted as no one is really sure and i cannot be running back if i am not done with what i'm going there to do. If i get contacted while i'm in the US, can i do medicals and also drop passport for stamping while i'm there?
Abi i cannot sha put all my life on hold like because i am waiting for TRV approval, the exact reason i didn't do paper route in the first place.
Please if you know anyone that has done this, kindly advise.
Thanks guys.
All the best!

1. An acceptance letter from a designated learning institution (DLI) 2.A Valid passport or travel document 3. All CIC documents; Document checklist [IMM 5483], Visa office instructions – Study [IMM 5832], Application for a Study Permit made outside of Canada, Family Information Form [IMM 5707]. 4. Proof of financial support i.e documents showing the availability of tuition for one year + $10,000cad + other expenses. This can be your Statement of account if self funded or sponsor's statement of account 4-6 months), letter of sponsorship, affidavit of sponsorship, documents showing source of income; employment letter, pay slips, ID Card, letter of introduction if employed while CAC certificate, memorandum of association, tax clearance certificate if self employed etc. 5. All related educational and professional documents 6. Letter of explanation; This letter helps the visa officer to understand you and your goals. It explains: why you want to study in Canada, and that you understand the responsibilities as a student. Purpose of visit must be well explained. Also, convince the visa officer that your main purpose in Canada is to study and you will leave Canada at the end of your study period. 7. Documents showing home ties such as birth certificates, marriage certificate if married, landed documents (Certificate of occupancy, deed of agreements, survey plan) 8. If that is the case, you're good to go then. Fall 2018 is indeed a goal for us. All the best in your application. jnyuwa02: I think you should see my letter written by my school directly to the High Commission and tell me whether it will influence a visa office decision or not. I am happy to share with you if you are interested. The prerogative is strictly with a VO to make its decision about a case I agree totally regardless of what a school says. But what a school who has made an award to applicant, depending on what is said, can carry strong weight and help in the visa decision. An evidence is on record already on my Gcms showing there is a back and forth between CIC with my institution (initiated by CIC), so it kinda goes against the claim that an application is strictly correspondence between an applicant and the VO. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Phocusjosh(m): 7:27pm On May 25, 2018 |
My thought exactly. What jeremy said about USASK expediting his application is different from what was stated on my admission letter which states thus; "You must successfully obtain and maintain a valid Study Permit, and any renewal thereof. Please note that your acceptance to the University of Manitoba does not guarantee that your application for a Study Permit will be approved by Citizenship and Immigration Canada". Austinpee4: No University in Canada is allowed to interfere with Immigration related matters at any instance. The perogative is strictly with IRCC to make decisions and also correspondence are between IRCC and the client(applicants) or their recognised representative. |

The bolded though. Can university influence cic decision? jnyuwa02: I think it’s stuck in the system pending some verifications from the USA. I have no doubt though that it will sail through. This success is for this house. Either way I will inform the house as soon as I hear anything which should be soon because USASK has written them to expedite the process. Only three months left. |

I applied online and I didn't use up to an hour at VFS Lagos for my biometrics. jnyuwa02: Good question. You would be called for biometrics. I don’t foresee biometrics causing such delays as the filing of an application. Those in Lagos should report on this live please. If it takes long maybe a trip to the capital and filing paper makes sense. Take excursion and come here North and feed your eyes to beauty that will make you wish you had more than two eyes to see |

How about Biometric? jnyuwa02: If you did biometrics in Abuja, you have to submit passport in Abuja. You can ask Abuja VFS to courier your passport back to you in Lagos when a decision is out without coming back to Abuja. I am not entirely sure though if you win, they still will courier the passport to you with the live visa. Even if they want you to come in person to Abuja if a visa is approved, it be worthwhile journey. Chat a VFS staff up live on their website, they will answer any questions you have. Best of luck!!
Ps: hope you know you can file your application online from the comforts of your room without going anywhere. |
