NIGERIANS REACT TO APOSTLE SULEMAN'S EXTRAMARITAL AFFAIRS SCANDAL AFTER HE WAS SEEN DANCING WITH WIFE IN CHURCH (PHOTOS) SOURCE:http://www.eyesoflagos.com/2017/03/nigerians-react-to-apostle-sulemans.html Some Nigerians on Facebook are wondering how they can be so happy amidst extramarital affair scandal while others believe the photos were staged for propaganda. However, others supported Suleman and prayed for the prosperity of the couple’s marriage. See mixed reactions below: Dede Don: "We love you pastor for standing for the church.. The Lord is your strength, the devil is a liar.. Shame on you Hausa/ Fulani.. Your Jihad plans is exposed to the world." Ukasha Muhammed Auwal: "Apostle sulaiman is nothing but a scam these were his prophecies, none of them came to pass, he even forgot to prophesized about Otobo and Danielle." Martin Samuel: "If is truth that apostle Suleiman happened to engage in such activities doesn't change anything in Nigeria recession wahala." Emmanuel Njika: "Wow i pray god to give me a wife like Di's pls lord .. CU's with d whole drama she still by him may u couple age with grace .. That is d different between pastors and all this actor's or actress." Temitope Yetunde Alabi: "Let them dance now. Afterall he was not accused of defilement, those actions took place between two consenting adults according to the ladies. I wonder why those ladies should be saying those things, I guess people now get trophy for sleeping with men in high positions once they bring them down. Jobless ladies." Okara Ngozi: "Why re ppl condemnin d man of God,even if he did,who are we to judge him.God is the only one that can take decision on this matter." Emmanuel Salihu: "The devil is on rampage to destroy and discourage people about gospel of Jesus Christ... We Christian can never subscribe to Stephanie and her cohort...Let Apostle Suleiman be! Could the blackmail coming as a result of Apostle Suleiman position over southern Kaduna Christian genocide?" Kash Lee: "Thou they fight against us but they shall surely not prevail... Evil can never comprehend good. God bless and prosper your family the more." Stephen Bridget Osaji: "Dance to d glory of God and to d shame of ur enemies. Scandal is normal tin dey use to destroy and kill d spirit of.men of God but u decided to dance all d evil plots away bc, in ur shame God will give u double honour." Sylvanus Okwunodulu: "Just observed that majority of the people in support of these allegations that are yet to be established against the man of God came from a particular section of the country, probably because he spoke out against the devilish and inhuman activities of herds men. This lends credence to the fact that he is being blackmailed." Kana Rahab James: "You think it affects God's plans for their lives? Hehehehehehe, that's the difference when someone is a true man of God! Such is even needed to strengthen their faith and ministry!" Aggrey Anthony Akalaka: "I don't understand why their is so much effort by suleman and wife to tag this a religious war. From a physiologist view their is so much effort to pretend this is not affecting them but on another hand Lizzy spends time on a press conference." Ayodele Gideon Olusegun: "A great woman he has, not many women would do that even after confirmation that it's not the truth, suspicion will still be there." Stanley Amadi: "I expect him to do the need full, just like Bill Clinton, he should accept his fault after all, he is human. what that matters now is his wife and his church members, who seems to be be solidly behind him. the evidence coming out right now is too strong to wave aside." Solomon Adedibu: "Yes let him dance because it is the enemies that get the wahala even if he had extra marital scandal, the the wife complain?" Olawuyi Samuel: "All this are lies from the pit of hell... Why are this coming after He spoke as a voice for Christians in Nigeria... This is a political and religious setup. Their aim is to tarnish his image and make that to shot his mouth from further exposition of their dirty deeds. More grace Papa,I believe God in YOU." Fatai Anuoluwapo Aribisala Ibrahim: "Dancing for what? For show,no doubt! Anyone that gives the apostle a close look will see that he has lost a tooth because the wife hammer his mouth with a pestle when they were having katakata that was caused by this Stephanie Otobo affair." Bishop Ukandu: "Tomorrow now she will recant like Tontoh Dike.. I love their jubilation.. If only all the women in Nigeria will do same when their House help or friends accuses their husbands of similar acts Like Apostle Suleiman!"

LANDSLIDE KILLS OVER 48 AT KOSHE LANDFILL IN ADDIS ABABA source: http://www.eyesoflagos.com/2017/03/landslide-kills-over-48-at-koshe.html A giant landslide has killed more than four dozen people at a sprawling garbage dump on the outskirts of the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa. Scores of others are feared dead after their families reported them missing following the Saturday tragedy at Koshe landfill. Local resident Musa Suleiman Abdulah told AFP he heard “a big sound” and saw “something like a tornado… rushing to us” when the landslide occurred. The landslide flattened tin shanties and buried people who eked out a living scavenging for scrap at the landfill. At least 150 people were at the site when the calamity struck, the BBC reports. The cause of the tragedy has not been confirmed but some of the affected dwellers pointed an accusing finger at a bio-gas plant being built nearby. The project is funded by the Ethiopian government in a bid to generate renewable energy from waste. Communications Minister Negeri Lencho told CNN that they were still investigating how the landslide occurred. “It’s a sad story because the government has been trying to resettle the people residing in the area,” Lencho told CNN. The area has been a dumping ground for Addis Ababa’s rubbish for more than five decades.

WE’LL WORK WITH LAGOS TO REFORM TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM – NURTW source: http://www.eyesoflagos.com/2017/03/well-work-with-lagos-to-reform.html The National Union of Road Transport Workers has pledged its support to the Lagos State Government in the implementation of the transportation system in the State. The Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the NURTW, Comrade P. Oginni, revealed the position of the Union in an interview with newsmen on Sunday. Oginni, who spoke with members of the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria, commended the government for the noble idea of reforming the transport sector in the state. He, however, pleaded with the government to carry the union along in its plan because the policy will affect its members the most. He said: “If a government wants to change some things, it will come out with a new policy. “It has be gradual and with the provision of alternatives. “A government can’t just wake up one day and decide to ban the operation of about 70,000 yellow buses from the roads of Lagos without considering the implications of such action. “We will appreciate the government if it will carry us along in its development plan and I am sure that our members will not let the government down in its plan to make the state a Mega City.”

I AM HONOURED TO SERVE NIGERIA – OSINBAJO source: http://www.eyesoflagos.com/2017/03/i-am-honoured-to-serve-nigeria-osinbajo.html Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, has said it is a honour for him to serve his country. President Muhammadu Buhari transferred powers to Osinbajo when he embarked on his medical vacation on January 19, 2017. On Wednesday, Osinbajo marked his 60th birthday and spent it presiding over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting. Speaking with State House correspondents after the meeting, he said: “I think I am frankly not different from yesterday, but I must say that it’s the work of grace and I just feel so blessed: first, that I am sixty and secondly that one is in good health and able to serve one’s country. “I think it’s just grace and a great deal of blessings from the Almighty God. “So I really feel very happy, very fulfilled and frankly very thankful to God. I am very very thankful to God.” Earlier in the day, Buhari hailed Osinbajo as his “partner in service to Nigeria“.

NOBODY ABOVE 50 YEARS WILL BE GOVERNOR IN 2019 – OKOROCHA source: http://www.eyesoflagos.com/2017/03/nobody-above-50-years-will-be-governor.html The Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has said that nobody above 50 years of age will be governor of the state again. The governor who spoke in Owerri, the state capital as a special guest of honor at the occasion marking the beginning of the 2016/2017 legal year in the state, asserted that nobody above 50 years would succeed him in office in, 2019. Responding to the remarks made by Mike Ahamba, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, the governor said that the governorship position of the state from 2019, are not meant for people who are above 50 years age bracket. The governor said “Mike Ahamba, SAN, did not attack me today. This is unlike him, it maybe because he wants to be governor in 2019, but let me advise him not to contest because nobody above 50 will be governor in Imo again”. Okorocha alleged that all politicians in the state who are above 50 years had at one time or the other in the past improvised the state and brought untold hardships on the people and therefore should not be allowed to ruin the state anymore. He said that the state should be entrusted to the people below the age bracket who have the burning and genuine desires to move the state forward after his exit as the governor of the state. The governor equally debunked the allegation by the lawyers that some judiciary workers were being victimized by the state government for joining the state chapter of Nigeria Labour Congress to embark on strike by saying that he insisted “no work, no pay” so as to instil discipline in the civil service. Okorocha equally boasted that apart from a former governor of old Imo State, late Sam Mbakwe, no other governor before him did 20 percent of what he had done as the state’s helmsman.

FOOTBALL FAN INCREDIBLY LOSES HIS WIFE IN RIDICULOUS BET source: http://www.eyesoflagos.com/2017/03/football-fan-incredibly-loses-his-wife.html A fan in Tanzania has incredibly lost his wife in a bet on the Dar es Salaam derby. Two supporters bet on the match between Simba and Young Africans SC (commonly known as Yanga). The wager specified that the winner would get to spend the night with the loser’s spouse. And a contract was even signed to make it legally binding. View image on Twitter View image on Twitter Follow Osasu Obayiuwana ✔@osasuo 1. This is not a joke -@jamalmalinzi can testify to this. Two fans bet with their wives, for the Simba/Yanga game. 10:47 AM - 28 Feb 2017 3939 Retweets 1515 likes Simba ran out 2-1 winners in the match, which meant that the Yanga fan was technically supposed to give up his wife. But it is believed that the pair eventually reached a financial agreement instead. Nevertheless, the Simba general secretary confirmed that fans of both teams often lose their wives in bets. He also offered the BBC World Football podcast an insight into his passion for the club, and its history. At one point Simba were actually named Dar Sunderland. And to this day they still wear the Black Cats’ red and white colours. The club's general secretary also confirmed that his house is decorated from top to bottom in red and white. And he added that his wife is forbidden to wear anything in Yanga's green and yellow. Derbies between the two teams average crowds of around 60,000 fans and a match in October saw seats ripped up by rioting fans.

MAMMAN DAURA HAS BEEN RUNNING NIGERIA NOT BUHARI – JUNAID MOHAMMED source: http://www.eyesoflagos.com/2017/03/mamman-daura-has-been-running-nigeria.html Second Republic lawmaker, Junaid Mohammed has alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari’s uncle, Mamman Daura, has been running the country from the background since the All Progressives’ Congress (APC took over power in 2015. Mohammed, who disclosed this in an interview with Nigerian Tribune, also said that it is tragic that Buhari is only comfortable with relating with people from Northern Nigeria. He further said Buhari’s actions as President differed from the social-welfare promises he made during the run-up to the 2015 general elections. The ex-lawmaker said: “The fact is that this cabal doesn’t represent the interest of Nigeria. If you believe you have a problem, the fact is we expect that you are going to do something about it. Now, Nigeria is trapped because the President of Nigeria hasn’t been Buhari, but one man called, Mamman Daura. In his entire life, he has never won an election and the only opportunity he had was when in the old Kaduna State, he wanted to be a senator from Kaduna or Katsina and some people wanted Mamman Daura to pick the ticket. “We have a president who doesn’t have a friend, outside the North and that’s a tragedy. Nigeria’s president must be a man who is nationally and internationally exposed, who appreciates people and feels comfortable with people no matter their religion or ethnic background. “The truth is that Buhari as a man has issue relating with people he isn’t comfortable with. people he is comfortable with represents a tiny minority of Nigerians and as far as I am concerned, you don’t have to see yourself either as an Hausa man or a Moslem. None of those makes you eligible for the office because the Constitution didn’t say you have to be an Hausa or a Moslem to be the president of Nigeria.” “I sympathise with Nigerians for voting Buhari. Buhari the aspiring politician and Buhari the incumbent president, if you compare and contrast what he says with what he does and from that , you can then draw your own conclusion. As far as I am concerned, a lot of what we heard from Buhari, from his friends, from the leading members of the party was sloganeering and that unfortunately hasn’t helped him. What we are hearing now is an attempt to hide the truth from Nigerians and much more confound his problem,” he said.

FORMER PRESIDENT OLUSEGUN OBASANJO IS THE FATHER OF 'DO OR DIE POLITICS - GOV .FAYOSE source: http://www.eyesoflagos.com/2017/03/former-president-olusegun-obasanjo-is.html Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose has described former President Olusegun Obasanjo as the father of 'do or die politics'. Fayose in an interview with Saturday Sun said, ''Unfortunately, Obasanjo does not appreciate the need for him to keep quiet. He does not have moral grounds to be saying all these things and that is why I come out every time to tell him that he does not represent what he claims to be. ''I want to recall in 2003 and 2006, Obasanjo who removed me from office in Ekiti at all cost for reasons best known to him is the same Obasanjo who removed so many governors from office. It is the same Obasanjo who trampled on Nigeria’s constitution severally, because of his third term agenda. ''Why should the same man now come out and say leaders should not engage in do- or -die politics? Where is the moral standing of Obasanjo? You know, sometimes when people interview him and he does his grandstanding, I laugh when I watch him on the television. ''We recall the status of Obasanjo when they went to fetch him from the prison. This was a former President who would just wake up one day and say the governor of Anambra should be removed, because his boy wants to contest election in the state and he ignored an existing court order which later brought former governor Obi back to power and sacked Andy Uba after he had spent only 16 days as governor. That is do -or -die politics. What OBJ did to Rotimi Amaechi is in the annals of history too. He would be the one to insist who should be governor of this and that state. ''Recently, he was saying his generation has failed Nigeria and I say his generation did not fail Nigeria, it was him who failed Nigeria, because he has the all time opportunity to right the wrongs, but for his selfishness, he did not recognize late MKO Abiola as winner of the June 1993 presidential election. He said Abiola was not the Messiah being expected. He is the same one that would attack the Awujale of Ijebu land, and same one that would attack Prof Wole Soyinka, he never recognized Chief Obafemi Awolowo as the leader of Yoruba nation and that is why today, even despite holding federal office severally as the President of this nation, there is no one that would recognize him as a leader in the South-West. ''So, it is unfortunate, those listening to him are just are doing so in vain, because he doesn’t have the stature, character and the voice. ''My opinion about him is that sometimes, people should take Obasanjo’s statements with a pinch of salt and see him as a man who just likes to run his mouth. He does not deserve the honour. Look at somebody talking about corruption, when Obasanjo just returned from the prison, they should go and bring his picture and his asset, what was his worth when he was in prison and what happened after eight years when he looted the treasury. ''All those assets he now has in Obasanjo library and university and all that, are they products of his salary? So when they talk in this country we want to be able to listen and evaluate what they are talking about. ''Obasanjo should be behind the bars. The money that he used to bribe members of the National Assembly during his botched third term agenda, where did the money come from? Was it from his holier than thou presidency, or what? ''The man who served as President for eight years out of the PDP’s 16 years in the country is now telling us the party is not good. The Yar’Adua we are talking about today who brought him? OBJ. Jonathan himself who brought him? OBJ. So, he is just running his mouth. We would continue to have problems if we listen to Obasanjo. ''Most of the other eminent Nigerians who have served as President of this country; are they behaving like Obasanjo?

NIGERIA NEEDS STRONG, ANTI-CORRUPTION AGENCIES -EKWEREMADU source: http://www.eyesoflagos.com/2017/03/nigeria-needs-strong-anti-corruption.html The Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu, said that the country needs a strong, independent, decentralised and impartial anti-corruption agencies, operating within clearly and established rules and tradition. Ekweremadu said this at a public service lecture he delivered at the University of Ibadan on Friday evening. The lecture which was organised by the University’s Alumni Association held at the Trenchard Hall. Ekweremadu spoke on ” Federalism and The Legal Framework for Combating Corruption in Nigeria” He said strong anti-corruption institutions will give hope to the citizens. The Deputy Senate President said that concern about corruption is as old as the country itself. He said that in spite of the various anti corruption efforts, it was clear that corruption has shown no sign of abating in Nigeria. “Dealing with corruption is difficult and challenging, but it is not without hope either. “We need a far-reaching and in-depth re-orientation. Importantly, Nigeria being a federation, the war against corruption must itself be developed, and generalized, not centralized as it is currently the case” Ekweremadu said that the country should allow each state to set up its own policing system as it was the norm in other federal jurisdictions such as the United States and Canada. “Decentralised policing will make the task of preventing, detecting, investigating and prosecuting certain offences and small scale corruption matter easier”, he said. According to him , the state police itself will absorb unemployed youths and lessen the incidents of fraud while the incident of corruption is easily detected and tracked. He said that for the country to achieve all this , it must move policing to the concurrent list. Ekweremadu said in as much as it is easy to point accusing fingers at the governing elites in public and private sector, the nation must embark on individual soul searching . He said that such soul searching should be from the highest to the lowest of the social economic strata. “From the clerks who would never be able to trace your file unless you grease their palms, to security men who would not let you in or claim that “Oga no dey” if you are not the type that part with “kola” each time you visit” He said that Section 15 (5) of the 1999 Constitution as amended states that “The state shall abolish all corrupt practices and abuse of power. “However ,the arduous responsibility of abolishing all corrupt practices and abuse of power can never be possible without the right political will and cooperation by Nigerians”, he said. The Deputy Senate President said that the political will to fight corruption, must be blind to political affiliation, friendship, ethnicity, religion and family. ” It must not only be immune to selectiveness, parochialism, nepotism and double standards, but must be able to command the goodwill, support and legitimacy required to win the battle,” he said. ONDO STATE GOVERNOR, ROTIMI AKEREDOLU (SAN) WILL SOON ANNOUNCE HIS FIRST SET OF APPOINTMENTS. source: http://www.eyesoflagos.com/2017/03/ondo-state-governor-rotimi-akeredolu.html Akeredolu, who was sworn in on Friday, February 24, 2017, is expected to do so after his current trip to Abuja. On Thursday, Akeredolu attended a meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which had in attendance members of the National Working Commitee (NWC) and Governors on the platform of the party. At the meeting presided over by APC National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, Akeredolu was formally introduced to other governors. On Friday, it was learnt that the Ondo helmsman was almost done with consultations on top appointees and “may make the names public next week.” A source told our correspondent that the governor was taking his time to ensure round pegs in round holes for smooth running of his administration. “Appointments is not a task that should be rushed. But I can say that the first set of appointments will be any moment from now; so let's wait.” Many had expected that Akeredolu would have, in less than a week, announced occupants of at least three positions – Secretary to the State Government, Chief of Staff and Chief Press Secretary. While the names are being expected, some individuals have emerged as top contenders. Prior to Akeredolu’s inauguration, speculations suggested he had settled for a former member of the House of Representatives from Akure, Hon Ifedayo Abegunde (Abena) for the position of SSG. Abena’s name emerged after choice of the current deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi as running mate to Akeredolu. Also on the cards are Barrister Ade Oluwajana, Engr. Tunji Light Ariyomo and Niyi Adegbomire, SAN. Many among the public however expect the position of SSG to naturally go to Akure-born Ariyomo because of his acumen, leadership experience and organizational skills. For the position of Chief of Staff, there are two people from within the camp of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). They are Hon Solagbade Amodeni, former Chairman of Akoko South East Local Government and ex-Commissioner under ex-governor, Olusegun Mimiko. Also in contention is the APC Deputy State Chairman, Hon. Ade Adetimehin. Adetimehin, it was learnt, stood behind Akeredolu during the governorship primary and may be rewarded with the position. Others on the list are former banker, Timehin Adelegbe, and a retired permanent secretary, Gbenga Ale. Our correspondent gathered that if these persons do not clinch the job, they may get commissioner’s slots. But in the case of Adetimehin, he may be elevated to the positiom of Ondo State APC Chairman if the incumbent Isaac Kekemeke steps down. The position of the main information manager to the Governor, the Chief Press Secretary, may go to Yemi Olowolabi. He has been the head of Akeredolu’s media team for a long time and many expect him to assume the position. However, he may be appointed Commisoner for Information if someone else is appointed the CPS.

APC IS BROKE , PARTY CHAIRMAN, JOHN OYEGUN CRIES OUT source: http://www.eyesoflagos.com/2017/03/apc-is-broke-party-chairman-john-oyegun.html Oyegun lamented the poor financial status of the party. In a statement released after the party’s NWC closed-door meeting with its serving Governors yesterday in Abuja, National Chairman reviewed the state of the party, x-raying the challenges facing APC in relations to funding and financing. He said, “It was agreed that the party is not effectively funded as it should be. A new funding mechanism was, therefore, devised based on a planned continuous membership registration exercise across the country. The meeting agreed that this is the only sustainable way to fund the party. “The meeting also discussed the situations in some of the state chapters of the Party, and it was agreed that an effective conflict resolution mechanism will be put in place to stem the tide of internal dissension and resolve existing issues. “As we near the midterm, the meeting also resolved to launch a project to showcase the accomplishments of APC governors in all the 24 states controlled by the Party. “The upcoming non-elective convention was also discussed and it was agreed that the convention will take place on April 29th. “The meeting acknowledged that the President, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari had been away longer than was originally envisaged. The meeting, however, commended the President for following the rule of law by allowing the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to assume proper leadership and by so doing saved the country the kind of trauma that was experienced in the past. “The meeting commended the Acting President, the leadership of the National Assembly, and all the APC governors for standing strong and ensuring that government continues to run smoothly, while praying to the Almighty God to bring the President back safe and sound.”

The majority of the burns are on her left arm, left shoulder and down her back. Police added there was a history of domestic abuse between the pair and have been called out to them before – but this was the worst attack. It is believed the ex-husband regularly keeps tabs on his ex-wife and cannot stand the fact they split up, regularly working himself up in a rage believing her to be with other men. “They have had serious arguments before, and some of those arguments have even ended up at the police station,” Capt Kraisorn Boonprasop added: “Her ex-husband is still jealous even though they broke up a year ago, but she still helps him from time to time. “Not long ago Somkuan was arrested for physical abuse while being drunk, and she bailed him out. “Ms Rungruedee has not filed any formal complaint as she is still in hospital, but already because of the nature of this attack police must take action. “Police are now tracking down Somkuan to face legal action. He is a Phuket native and we believe he is still on the island.”

OKOROCHA UNDER FIRE OVER PDP CRISIS COMMENT source: http://www.eyesoflagos.com/2017/02/okorocha-under-fire-over-pdp-crisis.html The Ahmed Makarfi -led Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has slammed Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha for his comments on the party’s crisis. Okorocha called on PDP members to stop heating up the polity by respecting the Court of Appeal judgment. But Makarfi camp spokesman Prince Dayo Adeyeye said Okorocha’s statement did not come as a surprise. “He (Okorocha) is not known to be a person who exercises caution or restraint before making unguarded statements. His constant vituperation on matters small or big, is indicative of an over-excited mind desperately in need of a large dose of tranquilizer. “It is curious that while he would want the PDP to accept the verdict of the Court of Appeal and not exercise its right of appeal to the Supreme Court, he was nowhere to be found when Sheriff refused to accept the judgment of the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, but instead proceeded to the Court of Appeal. “In any case, what is Okorocha’s special interest in PDP matter? Need Nigerians any further conviction that the APC is the unseen hand stoking the fire of crisis in the PDP and Sheriff and his cohorts mere puppets in their hands? “The desperate attempt by APC to exonerate itself only further exposed its duplicity. The Police excuse for preventing a peaceful assembly of distinguished PDP members on alleged but unproven security threat is an insult to the intelligence of Nigerians. “It is the duty of the Police to provide security if they suspect any breach of peace. It is a gross abnegation of its responsibilities to prevent people from exercising their constitutionally guaranteed right of peaceful assembly. No one is in doubt today that the Police has submitted itself to total control and direction by the APC”, Adeyeye said.
