I was hoping you would say something that makes some sense but nothing, all I read here is trash.

Why are all of you sounding very empty this night?

How exactly does your past determine your future when you're not in prison?

How exactly does your past determine your present and future when all you need to do is to stand up on ur feet and say ENOUGH.

How does your past determine your future and present when all that is required is for the niger republic minister of power to go on Google and type "how to generate electricity with uranium"

Why do I need to look at the nonsense from the past to understand the present situation of Africa when...? Oh I think I get it now.

Africans are prisoners. Prisoners of their own minds.

Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, non but ourselves can free our own minds.

What is the hope of Africa?

The black skin is a curse 😢 😭

People are hung up on the past and colonialism. They should hold their African leaders accountable.

Stop blaming whites & use your head for once! God gave u brain for a reason. So much conspiracy theory in your head, u guys no longer think proper! Your leaders are corrupt, u are not addressing that, we all know the so called Juntas are up to no good, but will engage in a more massive looting coupled with military dictatorship.

The role the whites have played colonizing Africa, can Africa reciprocate considering our low level of intelligence as a people? Do u think the black race is capable of colonizing any nation? The whites are the problem, yet the US, UK & Canada embassies are crowded with blacks desperately seeking to travel there, doesn't that tell u something is wrong with us as a people?

I tire!! France is bad, West is bad, bla bla bla. And people dey rush go that side. People will emigrate from terrorist nations to the West for security and still want to bring their Islamist terrorist ideology to the West.

This military juntas in Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger don't have the people's interest at heart. They are there for their own share of the cake.

He has a point.
It is possible they will all have fallen to islamists and become territories of ISIS. Just take a look a Somalia, a country without international interest.

Do not over estimate the ability of Africans to govern themselves successfully. The jury is out as to whether Africans can.

And Nigeria should also be circumspect about this. We border countries with significant extremism problems and these have manifested in the small arms proliferation issue we suffer, in prolonging the insurgency in the north-east and the spread south as manifest in the so called farmer - herder crises.

If France leaves it will mean we either go in to replace France in bolstering the security services of these countries ourselves but with the conseqent devastation of our own economy or be prepared to wall our borders which is near impossible.

We should step back from emotions and this well worn colonial story and think about this whole thing properly and objectively because we are directly affected by what is happening there.

France should wisely try and deescalate the situation, withdraw their ambassador as requested and immediately enter into some sort of dialogue with the new regime. Coups don't happen if countries are prosperous and at peace. Democracy cannot be sustained if the nation involved is not capable of planting and cultivating it.

Love this comment.. People are thinking with emotions. France is right in this matter. The problem is the corrupt African leaders.

Many pro-apc commented here are not average users like you and I but a paid group of individuals who are paid to try and shape and manipulate public opinion.

A key way to notice it to observe how their likes in some posts are very similar to the numbers of likes on pro-obi posts.

Beware, don't fall victim to their propaganda

The issue is not aboki but the fact that dollar inflow is sold to parallel market straight making the gov the only source that want to sell to the IE window. Best bet is to liquidate all domiciliary accounts in all banks in Nigeria them creat a deliberate parallel market for undocumented and unambiguous buyers while creating a gov artificial rate of N80 Naira to the dollar. A policy of strictly chemical and machinery as well as only industrial purposes to access this non cash rate. You will find out that machines and spares for industries will be cheaper including cars and cost of construction industry . Houses will be cheaper to build making life more affordable to Nigerians . The parallel market or cash market can be as high as N20,000 to $1 . This window will be for people that want cash to travel out or probably pay expatriates. This dual exchange rate system has to go along with domestic production of petrol and diesel as well as other petroleum by-products. Like I said the official exchange rate will be strictly for manufacturing and purchasing of parts and chemicals which will never be cash based. This will eliminate the possibility of round-trip. We all know that spares are not bought every day neither are chemical imputes so the pressure from the industries will be seasonal . . The people that require cash for many other reason can be based on the ability of demand and supply; floating. All profits from foreign coys can be repatriated by either they buy gold form osun state or zamfara state and export the cold abroad to get liquid cash. This will also help our mining sector. This is my advice and solutions

Arm chair economists here and there. Ndi Cambridge. Make dem liquidate all domiciliary accounts How? Why? Na wa for Una.

We cannot go on like this.. This is not the way out to stabilize the naira, the only solution is to go the way we did with fuel subsidy, no more special treatment, if you have a window the I and E window and a parallel market with two different rates in one economy, some privileged people who have access to the I and E window to buy Dollars will buy it at a lower rate and sell at the parallel market at an higher rates, also the world is no more in the 90s where market forces closes with banking hours, shut down the I and E windows, buy and sell the dollars at the going rates in the parallel market.. With that you have unified the exchange rates and allowed it to float freely, stop selling to the banks. If you have to sell to the banks sell at the aboki rates and buy at aboki rates.. The demand for dollars I can guarantee will go down 40% under just one week.. Thereby forcing the rate down...
The CBN honcos knows this, this is what we need not loans to defend the naira

It might be ok for short term but what happens when it's exhausted? It's a vicious circle.. Only way out is for CBN since they are the largest holder of the currency or the IOCs to buy and sell at the parallel market rates abolish the I and E window.. It's just a conduit for another round tripping.. That's what is causing the rise in dollars thereby triggering inflation.

So make dem shut down I & E window make Aboki dey determine Forex rate. Na wa for Una.

He is the ECOWAS leader. The letter to the senate is just for him to make ECOWAS member states, Buhari, France and UK see that he made attempts.

Now, no super power will blame Nigeria or him for not protecting their interest.

Even a new born baby knows the senate will reject the prayer 7 of his request.

You’re correct, Sir. Wagner and Islamic extremist groups are already deploying throughout West Africa, especially the countries with recent coups. Sooner or later; Wagner and the Islamic extremism groups will be trying to cross into Nigeria and unless Nigeria wants the problem, they need to chop off the head.
Just to tell you guys that aren’t brainwashed by Russia how crazy some of these Africans are—
Putin has been in power (this term) for 11 years and even though the propagandists deny it, many Russians are displeased with Putin. In Russia, if one word is heard about overthrowing Putin, someone is going to get killed or go to jail because Putin is a dictator that tries to rule with absolute power—he’s also a White man who doesn’t want any parts of his country destroyed, he wants to maintain order and remain the only leader. Putin wants to maintain order in his own country with no infighting between Russians while he encourages vulnerable Africans to do the opposite. Putin and his paid propagandists encourage Africans to group and overthrow their governments, shooting, burning, and destroying their countries in the process. Putin knows that military rule doesn’t work and destroys a struggling country even further but he knows that African people will follow his wishes without thinking about why they should do something in their countries that he doesn’t allow in his.
He promised grain and some Africans are too excited to realize that Putin is the reason for the grain shortage—-he promised it but it still hasn’t landed. He is promising to throw grain to Africans like feed to chickens and he is probably laughing at their leaders’ excitement.
The way Africans are on world news flying Russian flags and chanting their love for Russia is embarrassing—it’s something not even Russians or white Russian supporters in the west aren’t shown doing.
Now, after Africans have professed their love for Putin and the coups, he is publicly saying that he won’t be recognizing the military rule and wants the democratically elected president back in office. Do these guys feel like fools yet?
Some African can countries hatred of the West will make them to ally with a worse person. If possible sef this Putin will bring back USSR, someone who is looking for how to gain ground.

Now the Wagner group is growing in the countries where coup took place.. cheesy Before you know it Russia will directly or indirectly influencing things in Africa.

Change of slave masters 101.

Your name is Abraham, behave like one. You can be my younger brother....as in my real "junior junior".

Do not insult me for my opinion. I can as well start insulting you, but I won't. Dearest bro, my opinion is my opinion. You can disagree and debate it with me but do not insult me.

First, I live in Europe for a decade, and I stayed most of my time in Moscow, so I know Russia very well. Listen to me, I was approached as a machinery to move weapons to Nigeria as far back as 2010 (won't give details here). The network is invisible (I can't even trace it again) and they hunt ordinary people who are smart to work for them. Also, crude and refined oil scammers approached me too to be their strategic brain in defrauding oil buyers. I reject all these bad businesses, and when I wanted to move into cocoa legally, they checked me that their network is from Cote D'Ivoire. After this check, I left Moscow finally and relocated to Nigeria. I do not want wahala with those people. Bad people are everywhere, and there are very good Russians who are still my friend.

Back to the main point. Let us compare a military rule vs a war.

1. Russia will not join. Also, the Wagner group will not too. Russia and Wagner are not on good terms like that again, and even if they are...they will only send weapons. How many weapons will they send when they are fighting in Ukraine?

2. Whether you like it or not, when there is a signal Wagner is supplying weapons, UK, US, and NATO will secretly send to Naija too. Why? They know Nigeria is weakening its strength in this Ukraine war. So, all this bla bla bla that Russia will kill us is false.

3. The whole of the Nigerian army is greater than all the rest of the West African army.

4. The only issue that you mentioned is Algeria, and Algeria has not said much. Only you guys are making it huge like the way you concluded Russia is going to back them. This is West Africa. Nigeria has a vector as the leader in West Africa. We have common law. Algeria is in North Africa. Do you get it?

You are all afraid that people will die. Yes, people will die, and this is why they are military. This war is not about Niger, but about defending Nigeria. If we do not go and send them packing, they will all come together and fund the military to hijack the government here too. Just imagine those boys becoming governors and leaders. It is going to be worse because they know nothing, and they will still take advice from these corrupt politicians. And since no one can check them, they will destroy everything just like how Babangida and Buhari did. Abacha is still ok because he was already in govt for many years before he took over.

Gowon and Buhari are the most ignorant among them. Just imagine Buhari at over 70 was dull. At 70, he had every resource and experience, but he was still dull. Not to talk of when he was just over 30 years in 1983 when he hijacked power. Do you know the kind of governors we had then? Governors who could not even speak good English. They knew nothing.

See, the war we fought to restore democracy came with sacrifice. MKO paid with his life. Many were assassinated. When we compare the pain of the years we faced, it is better to fight a war when Buhari took over. If we had fought a war, we would not have passed through such agony. I guess you are a kid, and you don't understand the infrastructure and opportunities in Nigeria in those days. Guy, the military destroyed everything.

General Babangida started corruption which is the monster we have not been able to conquer. Countries in Asia were set back by natural disasters, but they have gotten over it. But see what corruption has caused us. Better we paid with blood in 1983 than what we went through.

The military must not return to Nigeria; else, we are all dead. Boko Haram is very tiny compared to what we will face at the hands of the military. They can wake up and say...no one must travel out of Nigeria again. JAPA syndrome is over. Thats it. They can send boys to the street, and start flogging everyone. What will you do? Torment of many years with real backwardness.

Military rule is equal to communism. Take it or leave it...it is. It is worse than going to war.

You made too much sense. Three gbosas for you. To me the actions of ECOWAS are necessary at this point. You don't go looking for war but if it is required you fight it. Soldiers are paid to die that's the reality. No be Russian and Ukrainian soldiers dey die everyday?

I just pray ECOWAS sticks to border closure and cutting of electricity and restriction of fly zone. That's enough. No need to send troops.

Military rule is nothing good.

Oftentimes we wonder if any good thing can come out of Nazareth just like that young man asked in the Christian book, yes it can!

While many condemn military takeover tagging it the worst form of government, let's not forget what Thomas Sankara did in Burkina Faso. Never in the history of any under-developed country in Africa was such transformation ever recorded in less than five years.

Thomas swept the street of Ouagadougou so well that the host of heaven walked past and said"Here lived a man".While the concept of democracy is noteworthy,we must come to the realization that democracy isn't meant for every country be it small or big.

If Nigeriens are so pleased with this military government and supports this new General in town to be the Mel Gibson of this Patriot movie, then so be it.

Wasn't he assassinated? Those who live by the sword die by the sword. You think it's easy for a military person to retain power through coup? They become paranoid because they are always wondering whether they will be ousted by coup themselves. That's why they become brutal dictators after some time.

The puppet president was removed with majority of the citizens being in support of the removal because he's said to be a puppet selling out his people to his slave master - France and the west.

He was said to be a stoopee doing the biddings of France to the detriment of his fellow country men.

These are some of the reasons his defence officials removed him.

They said, They said, They said. Give a dog a bad name in order to hang it.

Well, for his people to be rejoicing that means he is not a good leader and probably corrupt and the people have been living in poverty..

But the defence officers are hiding under the West as excuse to sieze power. We know how military rule turns out. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. They even turn out worse than the Person they removed.

Now the military has removed him. What is their next plan. To rule or to conduct elections and hand over to another democratically elected president?

Now they are allying with Russia. They think when Russia gains ground there they won't also start giving 'instructions'. Na dem sabi.

Why should a sovereign country be taking instructions from another country before deciding to fight insurgents within her border?

Are you reading what you're typing at all?

It's like Nigeria waiting for the UK to give us a go ahead before fighting boko haram.

So any source not aligned with the western media is automatically 'anti-west'?

We cut power, like we were giving them for free before?

Some of you Nigerians eh.

A coup has taken place in an ECOWAS country and a democratically elected president has been overthrown and is being held in confinement. Whether they were paying for electricity does not matter. ECOWAS and Nigeria cannot just seat and fold their hands.

You said i should not listen to western media but other sources. Which other sources? Al-Jazeera or Russian media? Are they the ones that will say the truth??

You say they took instructions from France. Where is your source? Probably from non-western media.

Where they instructions or advice?

Whatever the case, a poor nation bedeviled by insurgents would reach out to their strongest ally, in this case their colonial master.

If this military ruler allies with Russia he will still take instructions from Putin. Who pays the piper dictates the tune.
