Family / Domestic Violence - Who Is Truly Responsible? by phrancky(m): 3:14pm On Apr 30, 2018
The narrative that men are wholly responsible for DV in homes and should be held accountable is one falsehood that has been taken too far.

Parents should learn to train up their girl child to realize that verbally, emotionally and psychologically abusing a male child is an action with greater or equal consequence as a male child hitting them. This type of violence negatively affects the mental well-being of the man, hampers his psychological growth, immobilize him, and brings to naught everything he has ever struggled to achieve in a world that constantly tries to make him someone else. To put it more succinctly, the consequences could be far reaching than could ever be imagined.

Those negative words heaped on him daily have profound effect on him, and slowly but steadily, like a brick washed down by water, erodes his self-confidence and self-worth.

Many men have had suicidal thoughts and in some cases committed suicide, suffered other different forms of mental health diseases, lost their jobs and lost out in business because they allowed the verbal abuse from their female partners get to them and redefine their perception about life.

The same way it is morally wrong for a man to hit a woman because it can lead to grave physical harm or even death, it is also not right for a woman to verbally, emotionally and psychologically abuse a man.

The lame defense for the verbal abuse suffered by men in the hands of women is that women are wired to act that way. They are wired from birth to settle disputes via verbal confrontation/abuse. The proponents of this moronic disposition have also forgotten that male kids are also wired to use their fist to settle disputes.

The case of Cecee of the just concluded Big Brother Reality Show comes to mind. She is alleged to have verbally assaulted Tobi for over an hour, and a whole lot of sexist never saw anything wrong with that, or the psychological pains Tobi had to suffer as a result of her action.

The onus is on parents of this generation to teach their kids what is right. You can’t hail a girl child who verbally abuse a male and turn around to chastise the male child when he hits her. Both are wrong and of the same magnitude, anything short of acknowledging this fact is sheer hypocrisy.

If we can have this fundamental area addressed as we raise our kids, with God helping us, DV should be on the decline in years to come.

Misspicy, i havent felt insecure to any lady before and am damn sure this wouldnt be my first. I wasnt against her mourning the dead and even if she is to do that, must she bring it to my notice when the said guy was her ex and had been in contact with him while he was alive. If she could still be so emotionally connected to someone who is dead, wondering what she will be doing with other numerous ex of hers who are still alive.

A sane man you say?

you mean a sane man who is not insecure will feel threatened by a dead man?

you all are confused, for Christ sake, the man is no more, not like she will go and meet him in the land of the dead I don't see the fuse here?

its just a phase and she will be over it soon.
they must have shared some memories and it hurts to lose anyone not to talk of someone you were close with

OP is just insecure mbok undecided[/quote]
Romance / When My Gf Decides To Take The Loss Of Her Ex Too Far.....advise Needed by phrancky(m): 7:50am On Dec 23, 2015
Good morning all, please i need advice regarding an issue bothering me. I have been dating this girl for the past 7 months and hoping to tie the knots with her next year because I was convinced she is the special one, not until yesterday. About a month and half ago she lost a friend via an accident and she was very down and made me aware of it when I asked. When I probed further considering the way she was taking the loss, she said the guy was her ex and that they have been keeping in touch via calls and social media even while we were dating. I never made any fuss about it, because I felt I owe the dead respect. Just yesterday, she put up a message on her bbm profile stating how she missed him and crying that she won't be able to see him again. When she did that, I felt disrespected and wondered why she is still into this guy who is late and even allowing me know about it all and her response was that she is free to do what so ever she likes and that no matter how much she misses him he ain't gonna come back, so I shouldn't be jealous and if I want to go back 2 any of my ex I should do same. She sent me an sms this morning apologizing, but I am thinking of been decisive this time around and contemplating not taking her back. Could it be said that I am over reacting, insecure or simply jealous for nothing or is it that some stuffs don't just add up with this babe.

Am still at a loss the magic wand that was used during the twilight of GEJ administration that left Boko Haram gasping for breath. If only the Boko Haram menance wasnt politicised at d begining, it wouldnt have gotten 2 dis, as the APC saw it then as an opportunity to discredit d governernnment of d day and referring it to as clueless. The truth is that, PMB seem 2 have lost control of d security apparatus of the state as the terrorist seem 2 be gaining ground by d day. God help Nigeria and for all those that have lost their lives, may God grant them eternal rest.

Romance / My GF Goes Incommunicado Over A Minor Disagreement.. What Could Be Wrong? by phrancky(m): 6:22am On Oct 24, 2015
Iam 33 and live and work outside the country. I met a girl who is 26 during my last vacation in Nigeria and we got talking as friends when I got back 2 my base. We started dating about 3 months ago, as we do chat most of the time and call each other too. She possess almost all the qualities I need in a woman and Iam already nursing d idea of tying d knots with her soonest, even though she is hard headed sometimes, I have decided to tolerate her as I have my flaws too. The issue now is that, we quarrelled 3 days ago over a minor disagreement and it rolled over to the next day when I got mad and raised my voice at her when she wasn't replying my messages on time during our chat. She started crying during the call and immediately, I sent her messages apologising for my unruly behaviour, but instead she turned off her phones and has remained incommunicado for the past 2 days and also not been active on any of the social network platforms. My question is... Is she takin the issue 2 far and just looking for an excuse 2 quit, because am still bothered y she should be away for that long knowing fully well that we are far apart, I will be disturbed and also don't have the contact number of any of her family member or.....is she doing all this because she is hurt and wants to get back at me? How do I go about this because I love her, but I wouldn't succumb to any form of emotional of psychological blackmail from a woman am planning to make my wife soon and if it's also a sign that she has moved on, so I do the same.
Politics / Buhari Fight Against Corruption And The Senate President's Trial..My Perspective by phrancky(m): 12:18pm On Sep 22, 2015
Saraki is been hounded and victimize because party supremacy was not allowed to prevail during the election of principal officers to the senate or how would one explain a case of false asset declaration of 2003 been used against him in 2015, by the same party that celebrated his defection from the PDP just a year to the 2015 general elections.

He is presently been harassed by the power block in APC because senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria decided to choose their leaders independently, irrespective of what the political parties that seek to divide them thinks. The same government that rode to power with a toga of zero tolerance for corruption is hobnobbing with Nigerian known thieves like some northern elites, former state governors from the South-South/West regions and a notorious former president known for his penchant disregard for the rule of law. How are we supposed to take them serious, when all their friends are past looters of the nation’s treasury and they only go after those in the opposition or those who refuse to take instructions from the powers brokers within their ranks.

I am not against the fight against corruption, but the fight should not only be fair, but seen to be fair. You cannot put Saraki in jail and allow Amaechi to have unhindered access to the villa, you cannot denigrate Jonathan and allow Obasanjo nominate ministers into your government. What happened to EQUITY & JUSTICE, thought they go hand in hand.

Just read again that over 50 senators went with Saraki to the Code of Conduct Tribunal to show solidarity and stop him from been harassed by the tribunal members. These guys for heaven’s sake are been paid with tax payers money and they have not passed a SINGLE bill since they came into office, all we hear daily is Saraki this! Saraki that!! while they are been serviced daily with OUR collective fortune and when we raise our voice, they refer to us as wailing wailers and see us as beneficiaries of government of yesterday who have failed to realize that things have changed. Changed indeed!

We cannot continue to play politics with the business of governance, this dilly-dally has to stop as the nation is already in shreds and needs a quick fix, not this macabre dance of shame.

Boss13:
I find the comment of the ohanaeze youth council hypocritical and filled with cynicism. The south-east did not vote for Buhari, yet they want to be part of his administration - on what basis - federal character or sheer selfishness for ones' pocket.

May I state for the records that the President has the right to appoint anybody to be part of his administration. Also, he should comply with the constitution and appoint his ministers from all the states in the country.

I would blame the President for the public chaos that his appointment has created. He should have published a comprehensive list of his ministers and advisers, instead of churning them out in bits

U sure think like a 13 years old and now 100 percent sure common sense is a scarce commodity. Must d south east vote for him b4 he will run an all inclusive government? Is he d president of only d regions that voted for him? The guy is simply a tribal bigot and instead of people like u 2 admit it, u re here putting up lame excuses for the guy. We all in d southern part of the country are rogues and only d northerners are corruption free. Nwa nne si e ba pu.
Politics / Re: Buhari’s Appointments Unacceptable To Ndigbo – Ohaneze Youth Council by phrancky(m): 8:19pm On Aug 28, 2015
PMB has shown us that with the numerical strength of the north he can do and undo. The northern elders are definitely behind him and that is why they have stopped wailing and the media is now inactive from that end. He used the money bags from the south including Amaechi and his co-travellers to ascend to power and now he knows there are no trust worthy southerners to occupy sensitive positions in his government. When he is done with his northernization agenda those when they call us wailing wailers from d south go lick their assessment and hide their heads in shame. Mtcheeeeew
