Chuksemi: Oh, I see. You know, latin is a very interesting language. Maybe we should start latin classes here. What do you think? That's great..Hoping to learn from you. |
Chuksemi: I like the way number two was broken down. What of number one?Lolz..You should have known I deliberately skipped that na..It looks unfamiliar..The gurus here can explain that for us. |
Chuksemi: The above questions need answers.2)Mandamus is just an order from a higher court compelling a subordinate court to carry out specific actions on behalf of the former while Habeas corpus is just a court order requesting the appearance of a detainee in the court of law. 3)First reading-second reading-committee stage-report stage-Third/final reading. |
I wasn't even aware there was an unattempted question here..Let me approach no 1.. The differences between all these crimes can be deduced from their definitions. Suicide-The deliberate killing of oneself Homicide-The deliberate termination of someone else's life which is popularly known as Murder. Manslaughter-It is the inadvertent and accidental taking of someone else's life..Attimes,this could be in form of self-defence. Matricide-This is the murder of one's mother. |
Fynestboi: COrrect....Lolzz..Misframed question..The longest serving ruler in Nigeria is king attah of Igala. Is there no difference between a ruler and a president?..Ruler encompasses a lot--president,governor,king,emperor et al. Then I've recollected the first female doctor in Nigeria,it's Doctor Abimbola Awoniyi. You can kindly do justice to that of the first female SAN and first female lawyer..Atleast,for the sake of some other time. |
The first female doctor is a yoruba..If I see just one of her names I'll remember all clearly..Then the longest serving ruler in Nigeria is the king of Igala land..And as regards the first female lawyer in the country,no idea. |
Fynestboi: The first female SAN in Nigeria isJustice Legbo Kutigi |
T.ice:I don't know if there is a word for it. But you can consider this as a substitute- Atychiphobia-Fear of failure or being unfortunate..You know you're afraid of the answer probably 'cause you're scared the answer might not be favourable(indirectly bad fortune) I think It fits in..It depends on the context in which it is being used. |
OMA4U: What's the longest word in the dictionary?Pneuonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis. And its plural-Pneuonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconises. The day I saw it,I had to jot it down due to the spelling..I grappled with it before I could master it. It's a disease. |
I am sure we have many questions to ask regarding our different courses but the availability of sources for info is the bane in that part It would be nice to have more of you guys here together with other stalites that have been here before
We share same sentiments on this. We only have a handful of stalites here within a given range of courses most of which are not regular nairalanders. Their answers might end up being disproportionate to the questions we throw at them |
The Idea of destiny is bi-faceted,it is predetermined and at the same time can be altered..Though we are predestined to be something in life,we all have the free will to diverge it through our actions. That's why we see some people predestined to be rich ending up being miserable due to their nonchalance and laziness(action) and vice versa. No matter what we are predestined to be,we can change it through our reactions. |
Double post |
My nairaland personality portrays my real life character..Just with slight disparity..I would say it reflects 70% of the real me.. |
Samtolly4JESUS: My boss, you caught me??Lolzz..I thought as much. I'm not sure if it's possible for you to organize your write-up on NL..You know, immediately you posted it,the thread returned to the first page of the education sector thereby exposing it to the spectation of the forumites. BTW,I wish you the best. |
Samtolly, hope that wasn't an error..There is a separate thread for the debate where you should post your dissertation..Don't hesitate moving it to the right thread.. Or were you told to post it here? |
Jodekss: ya you are very rice... It may also be termed as stage-fright as in the fear to show up on a raised platform to act anything...Seemingly true |
Asakel: What FOS iz diz -1-Zeugma 2-Metaphor(not sure) 3-Metonymy 4-Hyperbole 5-Antinomasia 6-Paradox Not that excellent at literature. Kudos to everybody on the thread.. |
Olastep and Tola,Stop seeing friday as truth or reality..Friday is also an assumption. If yesterday(Yesterday is real) was tomorrow(an assumption),today would have been friday(an assumption) What's the tomorrow of friday?-Saturday.. (Assumption works with assumption) From this,it's very glaring Saturday is the real yesterday..Thereby,making today sunday. Am I making sense?..Lol. The question is brain-tasking. |
Oluwatola5: Yh, Jaryeh is mistaking the assumed yesterday which if it had been tomorrow to still be the today. Yesterday can never make today, therefore, today must be a day back from the assumed yesterday. If yesterday were to be tomorrow, then it can never make it a tomorrow again, it becomes yesterday wch is past tense.Seriously,I think he's right.. |
Kudos to our brother and sister,Samtolly and Oluwatola for the excellent write-up they presented in the on-going educational debate. I skimmed through your write-ups and they were simply amazing and pre-eminent..Great work! In furtherance of the above,I would like to congratulate our brother Samtolly for clinching the 2nd position in the debate..Bravo brother! And to our sister Tola, you really did well..Don't get disheartened at all..Keep doing the good work..Just like you argued in your write-up that ingenuity isn't a day job..I'm sure you're just getting started..The sky is your starting point. #Respect guys.. |
Oluwatola5: I can vouch for Phtemie any day any time, he wont be caught dead wrestling at allIt's good to be good. Good to see someone that truly knows you..I'm not the pugnacious type. |
Rapmoney: Does anyone still remember Mr. Nwosu who has four sons and two daughters? He came home during Xmas with chickens. That is pry 2. Mr. Salami is the father of Ali and Simbi.Lolzz..I can recollect this.. |
Miracy: Boss am not teasing you oo*i no fit* ![]() Lmao.. |
Oluwatola5: You have said well..... am only wondering what the Yoruba sentence means. If we don't erase the memories of yesterday,we would find no friend to play with. |
Olastep1: sure!. I feel i av recovered from my earlier shock. *smiles *That's anger for you. |
Olastep1: i think its settled. Am sorry for what happenedApologies accepted bro..All is well. |
Miracy: i perfectly agree with you...but they are only aggravating the issue...That's just it. |
Miracy: GBAM!!!...well spoken*abi na written??**Looolzzzz..Orelse wetin?..You're really teasing me..I no get authority reach that level na.. |
Miracy:Things like that are bound to happen..We just need to try as much as possible to exhibit self-restraint when they arise. |
Dissensions are inevitable in all human assemblies..Even in churches and mosques, people do quarrel. It has been ignited, but it really needs to be extinguished. I'm not a pastor and I no sabi preach, but I earnestly implore us to give a room for peace on the thread. The two warring factions(Olastep and Kejilee) should amicably embrace each other with the usual camaraderie that had always existed on the thread before the face-off.. Pls,abeg and abegi let's end this. Just like the yorubas would say;"Bi a ko ba gbagbe Oro ana,a kii ri eni ba s'ere" |
It is not a sin but it's not ideal as it could have adverse effect on your christian faith considering the doctrinal differences among the churches of today. Just as some people opined earlier on the thread,You could end up being confused. |
Nice one op...Great piece. |
