Basilona: The DjoKER- Rafa final is a huge anti-climax for me. Woulda love 2 see those 2 slug it out in the final and possibly give us a repeat of the 2012 aussie open action-packed final. Stil no chance though for RF. He's still cannon-fodder for any of the aforementioned two.

Team Djoker!!!
Uhm, do you mean semi-final cos that's where they are seeded to meet undecided

My bad, I forgot "Spanish" but still no need to get vicious.
BusinessRe: GTBank Named 2013 African Bank Of The Year. by phurlabby(m): 1:03pm On Jun 01, 2013
I don't know about Africa but in Nigeria, GTBank is the best. I opened four bank accounts in about 06, and tbh GTB comes out tops.

Yes, they have their issues like the ridiculous queues but when I opened there was hardly anybody there, this just goes to show that people now know about them and have opened accounts. They should open more branches to cope with the influx of customers though. The complain about using your cards abroad is beyond me, I've used my dollar VisaCard and Naira MasterCard for years and only complained once even then it was resolved the moment I called GTConnect.

Zenith was too picky for my liking, I mean they told me (then a student "50k or no account"). I have a friend who works at zenith's customer care and whenever the issue of cards and internet banking comes up, well she would tell them point blank to go to GTB (off the record ofcourse). Ecobank is alright tbh but nothing too fancy, Sterling as well. Union Bank's Leaders need to be flogged.

I think why a lot of us complain is because we don't see the big picture here, I believe GTB is trying to go online with virtually everything and as such it would be counter-productive to keep opening branches. Though they should consider the not too internet savvy populace as well. As for me, they do me right and I can do virtually everything other than save money from the comfort of my iPad so I'm not complaining. Congrats to them

nusdog: The other side of Lagos is not part of Lagos. Compredez?
Actually, the word is Comprenez, moreover there's no such thing as "comprenez?" it's either Comprenez vous? Or Comprends-tu?

PoliticsRe: Lagos Lawmakers Fault Tolling Of Lekki-ikoyi Link-bridge by phurlabby(m): 4:15pm On May 29, 2013
We can complain all we want but it was always going to be tolled and more expensive than the Lekki-Ajah ones, else the traffic in Lekki would have become unbearable for those living In Phase One as everybody with a car will just pass the route to evade the first toll. Lekki is mostly residential and I don't believe the government built it as an alternative route for those who dont want to pay toll.
I for one will only pass when in a hurry or Goodluck comes to cause commotion in Lagos again but tbh I thought they were going to with 500 naira/per passage! Anything to keep anybody who has no business there out! But then again, a civil may have risen lol

PoliticsRe: Lagos Commences Work On Fourth Mainland Bridge by phurlabby(m): 10:59am On May 21, 2013
Sometimes I ask myself why I visit nairaland as I never post anything on here. Apart from the really funny comments which are mostly insults, I have come to realize that I do learn a few things but this continuous bickering and fighting over nothing has got to stop.
The fourth mainland bridge is supposedly 'coming to town', now that is good news, what we should be doing is thinking of how this affects we the people, how can we take advantage of it? But no, we always choose to turn this SE vs SW war. How many Northerners who virtually control this nation join in this our little squabbles? Why we constantly turn this forun into an east versus west war of words is beyond me. Our leaders have been failing us for years yet we choose to support them on here in the name ethnic allegiance and judging by the choice of words I can tell that we are mostly young.
What we should talk about is how this affects us, our future, and how we can take advantage of the little that the government is doing because at the end of the day we are the ones who can build this nation and not the government. I am more concerned with the lack of specific information about the bridge as these are the very things I would require to take advantage of it.
