Perisic has headless chicken tendencies, but I would take him over many available options right now, especially Lucas moura who we've been linked with recently

What do u guys think of Douglas Costa?? Natural LW, Pace, trickery and can contribute with assists and/or goals.

Would be a massive upgrade on that left flank with Martial as back uo
Douglas Costa has no trickery. He's a one trick pony
Under normal circumstances, there's no way Martial plays back up to Douglas Costa.

Manchester United will avoid the likes of Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain after their Europa League final triumph ensured they would be placed in Pot Two for the Champions League draw.

Wednesday night's 2-0 victory over Ajax ensures that United will go in alongside Barcelona, Atletico, PSG, Dortmund, Sevilla, Man City and FC Porto and therefore cannot face any of these teams in the Champions League group stages.

It does, however, mean they can meet any of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Benfica, Shakhtar Donetsk, Monaco or Spartak Moscow who are the champions of their respective leagues and are therefore seeded and in Pot One.

Chelsea are also in Pot 1 but due to the rule that two teams from the same country cannot be drawn together, the Blues are removed from United's line of fire.

Basel and Anderlecht are confirmed as potential Pot Three opponents, and they could be joined by Ajax, Napoli or Roma, Dynamo Kiev, Sporting Lisbon and Olympiakos, who must all go through the qualifying process.

Tottenham and Liverpool (should they get through qualifying) will also likely slot into Pot Three, but cannot be drawn against United.

So what would be the best - and worst - case scenarios for United?

Worst-case scenario: Real Madrid, Manchester United, Napoli, Feyenoord.

Best-case scenario: Shakhtar Donetsk, Manchester United, Anderlecht, Ludogorets.

It's not matter of signings, it's matter of getting the optimum out of the players you already have.

City is a much more dangerous team with DeBruyne in the AM position, much more than both David Silva and Bernardo Silva.

Adding another AM just means you're only getting 70% if the optimum out of all 3 of them,. when getting 100% out of DeBruyne alone would suffice.

As far as I am concerned, adding Bernardo Silva does not improve them massively cos he is a type of player they already 2 of, who are even better.

Nolito himself is good depth, arguably on par with Pedro and can do a good job if not squeezed out by overcompetition. Then with Aguero taking no 9, Jesus is also a brilliant winger. So IMO they are just adding what they don't need and drawing down their budget which is fine by me.

It's like Chelsea signing all those wingers/AMs in 2012 and 2013 when they only needed two.
the season is going to be long. Squad depth, quality one is an important thing to have.

apart from making sure the general quality doesn't drop too much when debruyne gets injured, is fatigued or loses form (some or even all of these will happen), he's also a major upgrade on sterling, nolito, and Jesus for the other wide positions.

And tbh, there is nothing to suggest that the Bernardo silva purchase isn't all part of peps plan (defensive reinforcements included)

Man City just signed Bernardo Silva for £60m.

Good!

They should keep spending money on AMs, that just means less money left to fix their defence where they need it most.
Abeg, no matter how you spin it, it's a cracking signing.
David is getting old, no amount of pep magic can turn Raheem to Lionel sterling. Nolito is average.

And I really do not think it will hinder their defensive additions.

Sane Jesus silva and debruyne looks really good on paper, you have to admit

If after Woodward delivers most, if not all of Mourinho's targets, and we're still playing the kind of rubbish we were playing towards the end of this season, not putting in a serious title challenge... then we will need to start making plans for a new manager

When it comes to transfer issues, any name brought up will be shot down by our fans, I mean any name. But we must improve the squad.
There were loud doubts about Thiago and Vidal, but these two have been thriving for Bayern.
People doubted kroos before he went to Madrid and even after what he's done there.
Bale, same thing. These are some of the established names that we've been linked with over the years from the top of my head.

Ibrahimovic was even expected to come and be falcao.2

We must upgrade our attack, but not with griezman, for whatever reason. Not with mpabbe, too young and too expensive. Not with James, not what we need. Not with Bernardo silva, we already have many like him. Not with belloti, too expensive after only one season playing good.. I could go on and on and on.

I'm sure if the chance to sign MSN presents itself, we will still hear reasons why we shouldn't.

Personally, I think it high time everyone stopped bothering their heads about transfer fees and just accept the market for what it is.
It's even worse when United is involved.
Bayern could swoop in and pay the buyout clause for griezman, and nobody would bat an eyelid, not now, not ever, not even when he suffers a dip in form or has a slow start.

Every club has their fair share of being magad in the transfer market, but united's own tends to be overexaggerated.
The great Barcelona paid almost 40m for a Portuguese cleverley.

Bayern that is generally thought to be impeccably run, bought a certain overage rastaman for nearly 80m, on top their near monopoly to talents from Germany.

Even Batchuayi was bought for 35m and his best highlights have been on Twitter.

But everyone must know Pogba cost 89m, when he sneezes. Not too long ago, his goal drought was being documented.
I no know since when them begin calculate goal droughts for midfielders grin

Nothing the poor boy does is good enough, because of 89m. Which makes no sense.
Price tag should be completely irrelevant when a players performance is being assessed.

If the people that run the club think they can afford to pay griezman's clause, and still strengthen other areas then exactly how much griezman comes for really shouldn't he anybody's business.

In summary, our transfer market paranoia don too much.

Personally I'm tempted to go with Mata, because of his experience.
Lingard would be my 2nd choice for a starting berth.
So if either of these fail to work out, martial can come later and we hope he does something this time around.

Martial starting and not pulling his weight, leaves us with Mata and lingard who don't strike me as people capable of coming of the bench to make needed instant impact.

Cant imagine is needing a goal and having to bring on lingard
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by PietroRico(m): 7:04pm On May 23, 2017
A more pressing issue should be about who starts as the 3rd forward amongst Mata martial and lingard.
They all have their pros and cons.
Lingard has been rubbish on top his averageness for a while now, nobody still knows what to expect from martial and Mata since his return from injury hasn't played anything meaningful

Lol.. I'm not James biggest fan but many of you are hammering on the wrong thing tbh.
1st, if e never clear to you by now say mourinho intend to use pogba deeper, this should make it even more clearer, not make that particular conundrum worse. Fellaini has played ahead of pogba this season ffs. The best out of pogba, James criticism looks forced if you ask me. Both of them can play together just fine.

Mourinho would have to be very stupid if he isn't looking to strengthen our attack, central midfield and defense as well and I refuse to believe he is that stupid.
