he has to first be convinced of the need to stop
he has to avoid friends that encourage him to smoke
he has to gradually reduce his intake (to reduce withdrawal symptoms)

All effort to stop those messages are usually futile.

Hence I was trying several ways to combat the menace....and I think I have finally hit gold.

its in the form of an Android app I discovered on the play store.
its called "Zero Communication. MMS, SMS"

it replaces your default SMS app with more features. one of such features is the ability to blacklist messages from unwanted numbers.

you can even specify specific words which when it detects will automatically be blocked.

I have some relief now from the usual culprits (33151, 2044, 33419 etc)
