Fashion / Silka Papaya Soap Review by pinkylovely: 8:17pm On Sep 25, 2017
Hey there! Today I will be reviewing this popular papaya soap found in most supermarkets and shopping malls. But before starting my review properly, here's a little background story about me

To start with, I'm fair skinned but have gotten a lot darker over the years. At this point in time, I'm focused on getting an even skintone first before lightening my complexion since I'm left with deep tan lines (my face is 2-3 shades darker than my shoulders). This explains why I wanted to use a skin whitening soap

The very first time I saw silka papaya soap, I was fascinated. Why? There's an inscription on the packaging that says 'whitens as early as 14 days'. 'Wooow! As early as 14 days??!! I was sold in! But did it really whiten after 14 days? We'll find out

PRODUCT REVIEW
Packaging: The soap comes in an orange packaging. (Excuse my no-picture review. Dunno how to post pictures on nairaland).
Not the best packaging ever but still classy and cool

Soap bar: The soap bar is quite identical to the soap packaging. They both come in an orange colour

Fragrance: Uhmm.. can't really explain what it smells like. But it actually smells fruity not like papaya though. Fragrance is mild. I love it!
How it feels: I extremely love how this product feels on my skin. Unlike other akin whitening soaps, this one is not drying at all. It actually makes a good moisturizing soap! And lathers really well. Quite foamy too

Effectiveness: I've been using this product for 2 months and some weeks now. So talking about its lightening effect. I'd say it somewhat lightened the skin And believe me, this product never lightens in as early as 2 weeks. Its a big fat lie! It actually brightens my complexion, not necessarily lightening because I keep comparing my face to my shoulders and there's just a slight difference. let's say it got less than a shade light.

Pros:
1. Very safe to use
2. Moisturizing
3. Quite cheap

Cons
Does not lighten is two weeks as the product implies
It's brightening/lightening effect is so slow
Was not able to even out my complexion

Verdict: This product is not a bad one at all! But in terms of whitening, its not worth it. If you really feel it can whiten in 2 weeks. Sorry to say, you'll be so dissapointed.
Highly recommended for people who wish to maintain their skin colour.

Rating: 3/5

I'm still searching for a skin whitening product that's safe and that'll work. Suggestions are appreciated.
Fashion / Re: Where Can I Find Kojie San Soap? by pinkylovely: 3:37pm On Aug 26, 2017
Exempted:

Please were u able to discover a reliable shop where i can get Kojie San Products in PH?

Pls dont mention Everyday Supermarket cos they sale some fake products....

No, kojie San products are scarce. And the last time I asked my little sister to purchase it. She visited angel rite at Elelenwo and told me it was N1,200 for the 65gram soap. So I forgot about it and continued using Silks papaya soap.

Silka papaya is safe and cost N600 for 135g which lasts a whole month. I'll give a 3.5/5 for its effectiveness. It lightens but takes 30 days or a little more to show effect!

It depends on what you want to do in the long run but i will never advise anyone to study a course like that.

But why??

tensazangetsu20:

For your course I will advise you to school in Nigeria. There's no use wasting all that money outside. Don't even look to Benin republic as most universities there are below standards.

do you think Biology education is a nice course?

Nothing is. Just want to spend 3 years instead of 4 years getting a Bsc certificate

In Ghana biology is 4 years and aside the humongous fees you will pay, the standard of living in Ghana is very high. Everything is expensive even water.

*sad* I really wish I could spend less time studying Biology education. Are there any other neighbouring countries you know I could get my Bsc for 3 years. Yet has an affordable tuition fee?

Ghana education system is a top notch when compared to her Nigeria counterpart. although not yet excellent to be term as the best. much need to be done.

private universities in Ghana are regulated by public universities. per the law, a private university must be under a public university for a period of 10 years and must seek Parliament approval before she can award her own degree. this mean you will be graduating with a degree awarded by public university though you attend private uni. so the difference are not much.

you can study in Ghana as Low as hundred thousand naira and as high as 2 million naira depending on the school you choose. public school are likely to be very expensive including some private uni that has a strong link with foreign uni. if finance is your constraint, I will advice you to choose local affiliated private uni.

Ghana and Nigeria both practise British model of education. the duration of a non professional degree is four years while professional degree ranges from five to six years. remember your first year is non score. that is it has little to do with your remaining three years cumulative point. i doubt any private uni offer biological education as a degree except public ones. the private uni tend to major on modern discipline. so the the public uni is your best option.

I will recommend university of education winneba and university of cape coast to you if you have the ability.since you want to major in biological education. they are the two main teacher training university in Ghana .

scholarship option is very slim except you are extra ordinary student.

University of Cape Coast. What's the average tuition fee per year?
Education / Re: Comparing Nigerian And Ghanian Universities. Which Is Better? by pinkylovely: 6:49pm On Aug 22, 2017
tensazangetsu20:

Biology. You are better off studying that in Nigeria. Schooling in Ghana is very expensive for a foreign student and biology takes 4 years to study.

4 Years. You mean at Ghana or here in Nigeria?
Education / Re: Comparing Nigerian And Ghanian Universities. Which Is Better? by pinkylovely: 2:42pm On Aug 22, 2017
tensazangetsu20:
It depends on the university. If you want to school in Ghana I can only advise you to go to university of Ghana, KNUST, RMU, UMAT, UDS and UCC. Aside those mentioned don't bother wasting your time and your money.

Thanks for the advice. I want to study Biology under faculty of education so as to become a lecturer in the future. Will it take me 3 years to study that at Ghana? And what is the tuition fee for university of Ghana?

from the little I know, Ghanaian educational system is far better than that of Nigeria, Infact you don't even need the comparison.
Their government invest much allocation to the education sector.
but, as a a common Nigerian, you can't afford their tuition fees in their public universities talk more of their private institutions eg AIT (Accra Institute of Technology) pays more than $2500 per session .
Scholarship opportunities do exist but they consider their citizens first before international students.
Also they have lesser duration of study as compared to Nigeria eg Faculty of engineering at KNUST(Kwame Nkrumah University of science and Technology) runs a four year degree programme, but in Nigeria, its five years. This is also applicable to other facilities

I appreciate your comment. The $2,500, is it for three semesters or just one?? And are there any scholarship programmes you know which are available now? I'd love to try them out. And see how God helps

Are there any Nigerians schooling at Ghana. How good is their education system.

How pricey/cheap is their tuition fee?

Will it take less years to complete a course as compared to Nigerian Universities?. E.g A course under faculty of education generally takes 4 years in Nigeria. Will it take 3 years at Ghana.?

And what are the scholarship opportunities available for Undergraduates?

But there's nothing wrong if I also ask here? I'm done with my secondary school education for some three years now and my pals have no knowledge about the exam. So I decided to ask here since they're diverse people with diverse knowledge. Hope I've not done any wrong o! The new screening system is what's choking me. I cannot gain admission without combining results and that's like 'disaster' with this new screening system they've brought!

I wanted to ignore your seemingly mockery, questions but decided otherwise.

I made 5 clear As and 2 credits when I wrote my GCE exam in 1991.

Now my daughter wrote GCE in 2016 while in SS 2 & credited 6 papers including Maths & English but failed Maths in her Waec, although she passed the other 8 subjects.

So sorry if it sounded like mockery. My intention was not to make a mockery of anyone. I just wanted sincere explanations about how WAEC GCE is. And you've said it all. You just inspired me. And you don't know it! Thanks, anyway. I appreciate your comment

Please someone should better explain to me all about importation business. I'll be really grateful for it.

Activities such as debates, drama, and excursions are now rare in schools in your country. As the Senior Prefect, write a letter to to your principal suggesting the revival of these activities and pointing out what students stand to gain from taking part in them.

Bridget High school,

2nd July 2017.
To the Principal,
Bridget High school,
Eliminigwe Housing Estate
Phase 1,

Dear Sir,
SUGGESTION FOR REVIVAL
OF EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I am writing to express my concern towards the current situation in a lot of schools here in Nigeria. Extras cured ocular activities such as debates, drama's and excurcusions are now rare. This can cause havoc thereby displacing the students learning abilities.
Just as it is said 'work and no play makes Jack a dull boy', When students are overly focused on school work, they can end up being dull brained. So I suggest that these activities be revived.
We can start by reviving social clubs in school such as the debate, drama and science club, etcetera. Involving drama and debates will also be of help in providing meaningful presentations during the school's get-together. Planning a school's budget for funding of excursion trips will be of great help too
This will help students get more exposed to other aspects of life apart from just sitting and learning all day long. In the aspect of debates and drama, students get the opportunity to socialize and boldy speak in front of large audience which will improve their speech qualities and make them less shy.
Lots of students are intruiged when they hear stories of excursion trips from old school fellows. Students day dream of the day they visit such places. Apart from bringing smiles to their faces, excursions will also help them to have an adventurous life. Excursion will teach them a lot of things routine-learning will barely teach.
I hope you look into reviving these activities as I do. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
sign

What else is needed for the registration? Passport?? And how difficult is it to pass this exam? I've already started studying but I'm kinda scared. Heard GCE is normally difficult.

One more question. Heard the WAEC GCE will be held twice yearly Jan/Feb and August/September. How true is that?
