Re: Christian Leaders Brief Jonathan On Yar’adua Visit
« #1 on: Today at 09:06:45 AM »

I thought Oyedepo said his visit to Y'adua was private, why meeting with Goodluck on the matter, where is your INTEGRITY ?

The way you post I wonder. Don't malign the people. of what benefit is the state of yar adua's health to you. The greatest problem of most people is that we major in minor things of life. We need to focus on our issues. Yar adua is not our problem but poverty. look at parents using six year olds to push drugs and pregnant women swallowing drugs.

Jonathan has started in the right direction. He needs our continued support. Lets continue to offer him the goodwill. He looks like somebody that will deliver.

She must have pushed into this by poverty. This why we must do all within our powers individually to see that our country changes for the better. a tree does not make a forest but a forest is made up of trees. we are all trees in the forest of Nigeria, our individual positive efforts will turn to a national positive effort soon.

Politics / Re: Visit To Yar’adua Is Personal –oyedepo by pkoncept(m): 4:23pm On Apr 07, 2010
It remains a private visit whether you like it or not. Their invitation was not to see him on your behalf. If Yar'adua wants  Nigerians to see him, he knows exactly what to do.

Most Nigerians tend to think tactically rather than strategically. Their is no point heating up the polity by divulging the details of what they saw.

The fact that only the clergy were invited to see speaks volumes. There is this popular saying Action Speaks Louder than Words.

If I was in shoe of the clergy men I will act the same. Moreso, Emmanuel Kure has informed us that they prayed with the president he he mutered amen. We are accustomed to men who play to the gallery that is why we are reacting the way we do.  Playing to gallery will not move any nation forward.

Nairaland / General / Implication Of Obama's Approval For Offshore Drilling In America On Nigeria by pkoncept(m): 8:01am On Apr 03, 2010
On Wednesday 31st April, 2010, in a surprise move by the US president, given the antecedents of the Democratic Party, announced a limited expansion in US offshore oil and gas drilling. Observers believe this move was an attempt to win republican support for new proposals to fight climate change in the climate bill being considered by congress before mid-term elections in November, 2010.

According to reports, the US Atlantic coast, parts of Alaska and possibly offshore Florida will be opened up for oil and gas exploration. As expected, this has generated uproar amongst environmentalist and congressional liberals and sublimed commendation from republicans.

Although this move will not yield immediate result considering the gestation period in oil and gas exploration and production, which should be about seven to ten years from now. It does provide us ample time to re-strategies considering the fact that 70% of our oil and gas exports goes to America.

Can we handle this? what are the immediate prospects? what steps should we take?
