Narrated Abu Hurair a: The Prophet said, "Yawning is from Satan and if anyone of you yawns, he should check his yawning as much as possible, for if anyone of you (during the act of yawning) should say: 'Ha', Satan will laugh at him."

Another day, another horror apparently perpetrated by Islamists in the Western world – this time attacking Christians at worship. Once again, France reels.

The Daily Mail reports, An 86-year-old priest has been ‘beheaded’ by two ‘Islamic’ knifemen who cut his throat after bursting into a French church and taking nuns and worshippers hostage before being shot dead by police.

Five people including the priest, two nuns and two parishioners were held by assailants who raided the church in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray near Rouen in Normandy at 9am.

MOUNTAINS ARE LIKE PEGS (STAKES)[\b]

In geology, the phenomenon of 'folding', is a
recently discovered fact. Folding is responsible
for the formation of mountain ranges. The
earth's crust, on which we live, is like a solid
shell, while the deeper layers are hot and fluid,
and thus inhospitable to any form of life. It is
also known that the stability of the mountains is
linked to the phenomenon of folding, for it was
the folds that were to provide foundations for
the reliefs that constitute the mountains.

[color=#009900][b]Geologists tell us that the radius of the Earth is about 3,750 miles and the crust on which we live is very thin, ranging between 1 to 30 miles. Since, the crust is thin, it has a high possibility of shaking. Mountains act
like stakes or tent pegs that hold the earth's crust and give it stability. The [b]QUR'AN contains exactly such a description in the following verse:[/b][/color]

"Have WE not made The earth as a wide
Expanse, And the mountains as pegs?"
[AL- QUR'AN 78:6-7]

The word 'awtad' from the Qu'ran means stakes or pegs (like those used to anchor a tent); they are the deep foundations of geological folds. A book named 'Earth' is considered as a basic reference textbook on geology in many universities around the world. One of the authors of this book is Frank Press, who was the President of the Academy of Sciences in the USA for 12 years and was the Scientific Advisor to former US President Jimmy Carter. [color=#009900]In this book he illustrates the mountain in a wedge-shape and the mountain itself as a small part of the whole, whose root is deeply entrenched in the ground.[/color] {Earth, Press and Siever, p.435. According to Dr. Press, the mountains play an important role [color=#009900] in stabilizing the crust of the earth[/color]. The QUR'AN clearly mentions the function of the mountains in preventing the earth from shaking:

"And WE have set on the earth Mountains
standing firm, Lest it should shake with
them."
[AL- QUR'AN 21:31]

The Qur'anic descriptions are in perfect
agreement with modern geological data.

MOUNTAINS FIRMLY FIXED

The surface of the earth is broken into many
rigid plates that are about 100 km in thickness.
These plates float on a partially molten region
called aesthenosphere.

Mountain formations occur at the boundary of
the plates. The earth's crust is 5 km below
oceans, about 35 km thick below flat continental
surfaces and almost 80 km thick below great
mountain ranges. These are the strong
foundations on which mountains stand. The
QUR'AN also speaks about the strong mountain foundations in the following verse:

"And the mountains Hath HE firmly fixed."
[AL- QUR'AN 79:32]

Assalamun Aleikum Warahmotullahi Wabarakatuhu



Praise be to Allah.



It does not seem to us that there is any reason not to allow wearing clothing on which are written phrases that promote virtue and good characteristics, or which praise Islam and its rulings/laws.



But one should pay attention to some conditions with regard to this writings



The phrases should not include the name of “Allah”



It is not permissible to write the Glorious Name “Allah” on such things, because this may expose at long run the glorious name to humiliation either by mistake or not.



Putting on clothing’s e.g cap, shirt, ring etc. that has Allah’s name imprinted on it will always be subjected to removal before entering places of dirt. For example entering toilet or bathroom with it is highly prohibited and when that is done even by mistake will be tantamount to downgrading the virtue of the name, this is seen as a sin.



Another point to note is that this items can be misused either by the wearer or deliberately by a non Muslim.



Likewise, the name of the Prophet (peace be upon him) should not be imprinted on these things to protect it from degradation and prevent the overestimation or transgressions prohibited by the Prophet himself (peace be upon him).



Allah said in the Holy Quran,



“O you who believe! do not declare as forbidden what Allah has made lawful for you and do not transgress. Surely Allah does not love those who transgress” (5, 87).



Following this Ayah of the holy Qur’an, such act is seen as transgression and Almighty Allah forbids transgressive acts.

And Allah knows best.



May Almighty Allah Subhana Wata’ala safe our souls from transgressing beyond his boundaries
