The 3-4-3 formation spear-headed by the Pandev - Cavani - Hamsik era under Walter Mazzari was just a joy to watch.

Politics › Re: Time To Call Out Osinbajo By Yinka Odumakin by plessis: 11:40pm On Feb 06, 2018 |
beebeeA: My attention was drawn to this post and while I tried to refrain from typing, I spent the first few minutes laughing at the different responses without losing focus of the seriousness of the issue being discussed. First I must say the writer knows how to weave words round his ideas in order to get to a conclusion But going by the laws of logic, assumptions and judgments based on perceived opinion cannot stand. At best it's fallacious. Secondly, to the person of the VP though currently not on my toplist of leaders, he is a man that has actually lived up to All that was accorded to him before he became the VP. I am a lover of the post of a second man in power and I have taken the time to study many vice presidents of many countries. Permit me to say that while we have many figurehead in power, Osinbajo in my assessment is way better than most of them. In fact I rate him high among Nigeria past Vps. Next in line is the late Alex Ekwueme. Most are just seat sitters and while Atiku would have made more impact, his ambition kept getting in the way nevertheless...Atiku did his best.
Back to the writer, it is good to call out anyone at anytime but a better homework might have helped your reasoning a bit. The constitution which is the grundnorm in our country provides for the role and duties of the VP. You can hardly fault Osibanjo in all you faulted him in. He drives the economy to the best of his capability. He's not lying low even with an ailing president...he discharged his duty loyally and constitutionally. You cannot judge him by your undocumented standard.
If I were to blame Osibanjo...I will blame him for being a Nigerian, a Nigerian VP and not a tribalistic person. Infact as much as I preach oneness in Nigeria, I silently observed that MR VP has not populated the key positions with my fellow Yorubas. But the good in me appreciate his nigerianess. One day we will get it right. The expected statement from an elder when war looms might be different from what a father would say. Sometimes silence is not acceptance...even the law knows that there's an exception to the silence rule. So if Mr VP has not spoken with the kind of vituperation that you expect...just know that wisdom dictates to a leader the best approach. You have not led Nigeria before so we can forgive your callout. I submit that the present government can do better but i disagree that it is Osinbajos operation. my friend keep quiet..... Typing long nonsense.

[s] omenkaLives: Of course at a time like this when there's a sudden spike in the bloodletting, any leader, no matter how good, would likely get such results when a poll is conducted.
Both tempers and emotions are running very high and it is very unlikely a critical and holistic assessment of all indices would be done by individuals before responding to such polls.
It is likely if similar poll is conducted couple of months from now, after the anger over the "fulani" crisis seems to have subsided per dissipated, the results would be starkly different.
The number one thing on their mind would be Fulani and then herdsmen followed by killings.
Has Buhari committed any offense by being born a Fulani man? Do we choose our tribes from birth?
Buhari is a Fulani man, and it won't be difficult for those who try to gain political leverage from these tragic events to directly blame him for the killings. In fact, they have gone all out to say Buhari directly gave orders to those beasts to kill these people for political reasons.
Then comes this question I wish someone could answer: Exactly what political capital would Buhari gain by wrecking havoc in the Middle Belt which happens to be APC stronghold!!?
Benue, Kogi, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau, are all APC states. Why would they want to sabotage their own chances of victory at the polls?
Bad as the events are, when we approach discussions about them dispassionately (a nearly impossible thing to do) a clearer picture would emerge.
Buhari is to blame because the buck stops at his table when it comes to securing the lives and properties of citizens of this country. In respect of this, we (including my humble self) can definitely blame him for these incidences, but trying to put the blame on him because the alleged perpetrators are from the same tribe as him, as is currently the practice, is WRONG!
b]This has been the bone of contention between myself and these PDP supporters who can't go a second without mentioning my moniker on the forum saying I'm supporting someone killing my people. Buhari isn't "killing my people" any more than Jonathan "killed" them. Both men failed in SECURING THEIR LIVES AS NIGERIANS.[/b]
Oh, by the way, Buhari hasn't told anyone he's re-contesting yet. [/s]
