Sadly I don't have any knowledge on dogs, but since you have posted it in Pets section, tag the regulars there. A quick view through the recent topics/contributors would let you know who to tag.

LMFAO.

I was just going to ask this.

I wonder if his flock has forgotten who this guy is, someone whose hands were a put-off to anyone over 27. This guy is a joke. He tells us he's seen this decent person and he's still pushing rubbish, because we all know the conclusion of his matter. Evening news papers are giving him restless days and nights.

Maybe he thinks we have forgotten. That is how they try to form spec when no one is watching. Instead of him to focus on the 19y/o virgin, he is still jumping upandan like the community bf he is. Soon enough he would consider himself a reward to an unsuspecting female and call chaste men simps.

As she should. The strongest woman in Nigeria. Second to Annie Idibia.

Identify your dealbreakers and stick to it.
Her dealbreaker might not be infidelity. And by the way, Davido is 30 I think. 10 to 15 more years and he would calm down. Chioma hang in there and stay safe. He would most likely die first. 😘

Nairaland / General / Re: Who is an evening newspaper? by pocohantas(f): 7:37am On Apr 17
Tallesty1:
Marriage doesn't necessarily have to be successful to be an achievement. An achievement is an accomplishment or success that someone has attained through their efforts, skills, or perseverance. It often involves reaching a goal, overcoming challenges, or making significant progress in a particular endeavor. Achievements can be personal, professional, academic, or related to various aspects of life, and they are typically recognized as moments of pride or fulfillment.

Going by this definition, even getting someone to marry is an achievement; successfully marrying the person is another achievement. If it is successful and long-lasting, that is another achievement.

Successfully doing anything you have always wanted to do is an achievement.

Yes, but I have also seen cases of how quickly people became regretful after getting married to a wrong partner. So I don't limit it to just being married, but having a good one.

I would say I totally agree with you. The lady is better off single than being shackled in a wrong marriage. The Nigerian society is not even helping with incessant pressures into marriages as if marriage is a big achievement, expecially on the females.

There is no reason on earth why a lady should be mocked or referred to in the pejorative sense of an " evening newspaper" simply because she is yet to marry.

We need to change and do better as men.

1) I am of the belief that a good marriage is indeed an achievement to those who desire it. But when you bully people so much with something, they might fight back and you hear statements like the highlighted.

2) Until marriage happens, Nigerians should allow singles breef. I have thought about it deeply and I am yet to see any reason to shame someone for being SINGLE.

3) I have never looked at a man on this forum and thought to myself "eish, he is not married". I don't care and I won't marry him if he were single. It is always the reverse because women do not care enough about such to give men derogatory names. They might have their biases when approached by these men, but they are not malicious about it like the guys on this forum who have more venom than inland taipans. So you won't find a handful of women to adopt this name for men.

4) These venomous men do not care about (the biological clocks of) women. They only want to ensure they cause them pains and embarrassment.

Nobody can be an evening newspaper as you have rightly noted that the word is derogatory. Even worse that it most times comes from men who are unmarried themselves, but somehow clutch to that as the only means to put women down.

Using Nairaland as a case study, I am yet to see any of the forum's rules that says females must be married to have peace. So the obsession with the marital status of women on this site is unbecoming.

That said, marriage is a lifetime decision that can make or mar you. You should do it when you are prepared for it and with someone who wants it as much as you do. It is not for survival or change of status. If you die at 30, they will call it premature death. But you are alive and same people think you are too old for marriage.

People have different spec at different stages of their lives. Pick your own spec and shut up.

Nobody is an evening newspaper. If you are worried about single ladies/men, do well to marry one and help us reduce the population of singles. Anything less and you are an emptyheaded rabblerouser.

Religion / Re: NOUN Students Demand Apology From Dunamis Pastor Over Dehumanization Of Graduate by pocohantas(f): 2:34pm On Apr 16
Nazgul:

You'd be shocked to know that a considerable number of Nigerian graduates can't even communicate fluently in English language. Many can't express themselves when typing without making obvious blunders and typo errors. But that doesn't mean that you should make jest of them.

The attitude Dr Paul Eneche displayed is very common with Pentecostal pastors. He simply talked her down because he felt she was poor. Do you think he would have sounded that way if she was a money bag?

A lot of Nigerian pastors are annoyingly arrogant and rude when dealing with their poor members.

I watched the video over and over again and could literally feel the arrogance in his voice. Even if she was lying, was that enough to embarrass her globally by making her an object of ridicule? Why not wait until after the testimony then respectfully point out to the congregation that law doesn't award Bsc?

I don't blame him tho, Nigerians are blindly religious, so many of them wouldn't see anything wrong with what Eneche did and even attack the poor lady.

This was the problem _ the arrogance in his voice. You could tell he was already irritated by her diction and was looking for a way to belittle her. So his question was random and irrelevant to her testimony.

I have never paid him any mind and I don't put mouth in pastors matter. But this one was a lot to take in. He didn't stop chastising her. He went on and on.

If he had left her to us (Nigerians), we wouldn't have called the testimony fake. We wouldn't have dragged his church. Not when we have seen worse from Nigerian graduates. It would have been NOUN getting a full dose of the Nigerian dragging.

Bro can you please share the road map?? Is it possible for someone with a life science degree to switch to this role too? Without a degree?

By without a degree, you mean a degree in business courses? The answer is yes you can switch. I know many that did it. You would only need 2.1 and above and go buy fundamental accounting and finance books to get the basic terms and concepts. So it would be harder for you. Asides that you will be fine. ICAN and CFA are highly recommended and globally recognised.

The man didn't act Christ-like a bit and if I didn't watch the video, I would have doubted such happened. It goes to show the level of classism that has infiltrated the church.

While it is shameful a graduate doesn't speak well or know the degree awarded to her, she already stated her foundation was poor. You learn grammar/languages easily in your formative years. Subsequently it becomes a struggle. Hence the saying "catch them young". He should have simply told her the correct term and if you watched the video, before the microphone was put to her mouth, she said LLB. Maybe stage fright, she switched to the popular BSc and went back to LLB when he mentioned it.

I bet she had the longest walk of her life back to her seat. Maybe a pastor in a neighbourhood church wouldn't have noticed if she said B.Ed. Sadly she went to a big church where the head pastor dresses like a medieval magician.

Interesting...

Poco, what's triggering you today? Huh?

You DIDN'T read my post properly before rushing to type a response here. You have to read it again to get a hang of my post. I merely stated my opinion and NEVER attacked you OR negated your point. As a veteran member of NL who is well-educated and well-traveled, I don't go about talking trash here. I deal with FACTS.

"Inner circle of influence" in the English language simply refers to all the close folks within your family, social circle, business circle, etc. I NEVER refered to "influential men" in Nigeria like you incorrectly stated. I was referring to the social network or social circle that is required to create the linkages for meeting your SPECIFIC kind of man OR woman. Period.

I clearly NEVER said in my original post that you said TALL men over 6 feet don't exist.

Last but NOT least, I have to emphasize here again the importance of reading and re-reading a thread post before replying or responding so as NOT to misinterprete the context of the original message.

Enjoy your day.

There is no social network required to meet men over 6ft in Nigeria. It is height we are talking of, not doctors, engineers or accountants.

Tall guys of over 6 feet exist, but you have to be within the same inner circle of influence in order to collide or have things going on within the romance ecosystem.

The above is an excerpt from your previous post. So I read and understood you clearly, Mr Well-Travelled. If you know any social network filled with men and woman over 6ft in NIGERIA, please drop it. After all you deal with FACTS.

This is too much. I know people will say that she knows what she signed up for, but I'm sure this is not part of it.

The babe is really strong o. Her and Annie Idibia are the strongest women in Nigeria. Tuface has rested and Davido is in his own phase. Sadly it may not stop until his popularity dwindles. Which I don't see happening in less than 10yrs. If Chioma can endure for another decade, she should have his weakened self for life.

If the "short" dude in the video is truly the tall lady's spouse as alleged, then he's got a great deal of confidence to have wooed her over into becoming his long-term woman.

You don't need any inner circle of influence to meet tall men of over 6ft. Which one is influence here again? Na everything una go tie to influence in this country? Are all the influential men in Nigeria over 6ft? Except you are referring to basketballers. That is the only inner circle that is full of tall men.

I know tall guys of over 6ft exist. I never said they don't. I said they are not many.

I am glad I am not up to 6ft. You will think there are many tall men until you are a fairly tall woman. That is when you will know 6ft+ men are not many.

5'8 to 5'11 is fine. 6ft highest.

Else you will most likely end up with a 5'8 man and be bending like rubber band in pictures with your man. You won't have mind to rock heels with reckless abandon. And na like this them go snap you and your husband put online. They will na say you married him for money. God abeg o. grin grin grin
