One thing, i love about athiest is that they write lot of words without no meaning or even evidence to back up their arguments

They don't...I schooled and stayed there for 8 years...

They do, what they said was the Uk does not have a written constitution not laws.

A unwritten constitution does not mean laws are not written

I know right from wrong because it is inbuilt in my psyche.
I don't need any book to tell me killing or stealing is wrong. I just know that I can distinguish right from wrong.
So if someone comes up tomorrow with a new religious book and tells you killing is good or stealing is good then you will embrace it??
I just love religious people!

You know because you were taught from young by your religious parents that good is good and evil is bad.

Stop acting like once you were born it was naturally inbuilt in you.

Your parent, church or mosque and school taught you that.

There are lot of opportunists people outthere who dont believe in any moral code, they will kill, cheat and destroy if given an opportunity.

In every religious book there is no place where killing is good and stealing is good, so if someone brings that new religion, moral people will understand that that person is evil and does not have the interest of society or himself or herself in place.

I quite understand your point, wihout laws there would be chaos..which is to be expected.but he is asking if we need the laws written down or it should be within us..if we can't tell rigjt from wrong then we simply lack empathy..

Laws needs to be written down. Human beings are opportunists in nature.

There are people who will oppress the weak if laws are not written down.

Also not every human has the tendency to do good, many are evil in nature and do not care about morals , so we need written laws to tame their nature.

I ask you again.
Do you need laws written in a book to distinguish right from wrong??
Does a book control/project your morality??

Yes. I need laws to distinguish right from good and i need a book to project morality.

Laws comes with consequences for breaking

the heart of man is evil and laws does not only cover right from wrong, but also covers business and other aspects of himan life.

Question to you

How do you know right from evil without laws ?

Sorry, I always quote religious people before responding to them because they have the tendency of editing and manipulating their posts when they are found out.
That done with I bet you did not know there are two different 10 commandments in Exodus. Do you know how I know this? I know this because Christian's do NOT read their bible. In fact I am sure I know more of what is written in the bible than you and I don't rely on any general overseer to tell me what is in the bible!!!

Yes i know.

The mosaic law and the law that was replaced after moses destroyed the first law.

The first 10 laws are what i was referring to, those laws are foundation of western civilization and they represent how we treat God and how we treat others in a society.

The problem is you read without application or historical background.

The mosaic law deal with moral, ceremonial, and judicial aspects of human life.

Before mosaic law

There was Seven Laws of Noah which also deal with the moral, ceremonial and judicial aspects of human life during that period, the mosaic law also got some laws from the noah laws

If we also check the Hammurabi laws, we will also find traces of the law of moses and noah.

The legal code of this law dealt with theft, marriage, debt, slavery, commerce. One of the central tenets of the laws was to protect the weak against the strong.

I love how you conveniently dodged my question but then religious people are like that!

I didn't even write about God in my write up but then you concluded i am religious.

I don't know the pastor, i am sure he has a reason for banning Tv maybe he doesn't want his members to be influenced by what they watch on tv and it is possible he got more softer as he got older.

Thank you sir.
I want to ask you if you REALLY need a law written in a book to know right from wrong? Do you need to read a book to know killing or stealing is wrong?
And by the way which of the 10 commandments are we talking about here? Please think very well before you answer. Which of the 10 commandments in the book of exodus are we talking about here

Yes, you need a written law to know what is right from wrong or else it will be easy for people to oppress one another.

The written law is a guideline, without these guidelines human being will generally destroy one another, a land without laws is a dangerous land.

For the ten commandments, i am talking about all the 10 commandments.

Thou shall not steal and the remaining 9 laws.

I don't know for how long you have been a deeper life member or how old you are and I dont say this to disparage your belief. I ask because I remember back in the late 80s Mr Kumuyi who is the founder of Deeper life church forbid his church members to use television sets. In fact he labelled the television as a devil's instrument. Many of his church members believed this doctrine and Drug pits and buried their televisions in the ground like corpses. Others smashed their televisions to smithereens to serve the doctrine of Kumuyi and deeper life. Flash forward to the 2000s and the same Kumuyi is propagating his evangelical ministry through the same television which he labelled devilish in the 1980s.
Religion evolves as man evolves because all religions are created by MAN!

To be realistic, i actually like the not using the Tv.

Tv are visual and what you watch on tv can corrupt your mind, that is why even on tv there is parental control because even the makers know that if tv use is not controlled it can damage the mind of children.

See Tv as a propaganda instrument instead of a box for watching visual content then you will understand the dangers of Tv

@Emboldened,
Could you please explain this to me as if I am ten years old?? cry

For example for Christians, the 10 commandments is the yardstick for creating laws in a Christian society.

For traditional worshippers, the traditional laws is been used to creates rules on law and order, creating trust in society.

This also extends to islam and other religions.

Religion is the backbone for every society.

The laws brought trust, peace and a stable society

I am not religious but i believe in religion.

Whether you are Christian, Muslim or you worship the the African Gods, to have a sane society, religion is very important.

Actually religion have been the foundation of society and of human development.

All political, banking, economic development all came from religion.

The reason why you are revolting is because of the strict and radical rules you guys have in your church.

So erica just signed an endorsement deal after being disqualified for one unknown company like that.

One thing people don't understand about endorsement deals is that it is similar to slavery.

You go work tired, meet target till they pay you, sometimes you go do lot of free stuff for nothing.

Nothing sweeter than finishing a race and reaching the finals.

People are saying the show is boring like it is the fault of the contestants, ask dstv to up their game and bring drama to the game, they own the program.

The game is scripted and has always been, they should add more to the script but it seems dstv are more interested in advertising money than the game

I can go on a no sex relationship with a girl as a guy that is practicing semen retention it will be very easy for me.

But where the issue lies is that, that same girl that tells u no sex til marriage will still be banging hell out of another guy behind u. I believe if u get to know u will be so disappointed right?

That's why I said ladies have double standards. They don't keep to their words. They are hypocrites.

You are you and responsible for whatever happens to you and your life. Tradition and culture will never be the backbone of your reality. You are in charge of it.

I don't know you, I don't know if you are joking or serious with what you are saying, but I'm very sure you are not married, because a reasonable married man can't say this nonesens you've been saying.

My small advice.... When you get married, please make sure you and your partner join heads together to run your home without traits of toxic masculinity. There will come a time when she'll be sick, weak, pregnant and unable to do some things, it'll be left for you to do those things, this includes laundry. Same Might happen when you start facing financial challenges, she'll help out as your wife. That's how partner should behave.

Washing your partner's undies doesn't make you weak in any way, she's your life time partner.

Doing house chores doesn't make you weak, you live in the house.

Feeding your kids doesn't make you weak, they are your kids. Society shouldn't be a deciding factor for your home o!

Una go bow down lick woman toto, but to wash pant wey cover the toto come be weakness.

Who's deceiving who?

Tradition and culture is everything.

A man that does not believe in anything can not be trusted.

Also, there is nothing like toxic masculinity only weak men thinks their masculinity is toxic because they have been brainwashed by the media.

Also when my wife is sick or pregnant, i will get a maid to help out.

Feeding your kid is different from washing pants, btw how can you wash a woman pant that is not even your wife.

In my culture, it is a taboo to lick a woman vaginal, it is unhealthy.

And lastly, washing a womans undies that is not your wife makes you a weak man.

You mean culture tells us that a woman is loveable and virtuous when she washes her man's undies, but a man is weak when he does the same?

Omo eh! It is finished.

Yes, culture tells us that if a woman manages and take care of her home, she is a good woman, also culture teaches us that if a man works hard and take care of his family, he is a good man, it is just common sense.

Culture and traditions is the backbone of every society without it, society will collapse.

Yes, it means, every culture has it stigma, if you think you are trying to please her, you are indirectly telling her you are weak, anyway action speaks louder than voice.

And what happens when men volunteer to do the same for their partner?

Most women do that, it is in their nature.

When a woman comes to a guy house she wants to cook and clean.

If a man volunteer to cook then for the woman signifys love but when he washes her pant then that is weakness.

If you are doing it, stop it, she must have told her friends and they will laugh about it and abuse you for it.

But when a woman wash her partner's undies, she's virtuous and a wife material.

How can people be this foolish bikonu.

Anyway there are gender roles.

So i guess it will be ok if the man stays at home and feed the newly born baby instead of working to take care of his family.

Also a woman washing a partner's undies doesn't mean she is a wife material, most women volunteer to do that just like they volunteer to cook and clean the house when they are with their partner
