So I was discussing with 10 northerner friends in Abuja on the reason why Peter Obi should be the president of this country and they said it won’t happen.

He said cabals and northern elites won’t let PO near aso rock because of their selfish interest and other negative personal things he said.

He said if he wins, he won’t be sworn in or they’d use the military to stage a coup detat just like Abiola.

I know Peter Obi is what everybody needs right now from this APC government but how can PO beats the cabal to it?

I work with an NGO and have been to almost every part of Kaduna .. am Obidient but I can tell you most Hausa/Fulani here are rooting for Atiku . While the Christian dominated areas are Obidient including alot of Yoruba Christians here..

APC should sensitize more at grassroots. That is where Labour party is doing better.
If APC/PDP assumes that people already know them and fails to do more work, LP will just cruise to victory.

Farmers in the North now know LP and Peter Obi. A man that joined the party 6 months ago is known in all looks and cranies of Nigeria even in villages.
They go with ballot papers, educating local dwellers how to vote correctly for LP.

If APC/PDP relent, everyone will forget their existence.

If I am to run for president of Nigeria ...I won't do rallies the way we know it ...instead I would tour every state for a few days ...hold small rallies in like 5 to 10 location , mostly hold town hall meetings with stake holders ... students, market women , business community, religious leaders , different groups ...I would then try to tour all the radio and TV stations in the state ...to sell my ideas

Personally, I have never attended political rally but I have always voted my preferred candidate.

The front runners for the presidency come 2023 are engaging in political rallies across the country and their supporters and opponents are always quick to brag about crowds in their rally.

No rally can pull upto 400, 000 people, considering the capacity of the venues. Contrastly, candidates have won states with over a million votes. Some people are also paid to be at the rally.

Consequently, I ask " does crowd at rally translate to votes? ".

Additionally, don't we think that grassroots sensitization and mobilisation is more productive than rallies?

Many rural dwellers don't have the time and resources to make it to venues of campaign rallies .

I don't attend any rally even it will be held in my compound. However, I have always voted my preferred candidate.

That is what they don't understand. Having 4 major contenders in 2023 has totally changed the political dynamics.
They think we are still in 2015 and 2019.
Kwankwaso is actually helping Obi to win.
I am sure, he must have reasoned with Obi that it is better he runs separately under NNPP so that he can divide Northern votes thereby giving Obi an edge.
Imagine Kano voting overwhelmingly for APC and PDP. Whatever gain Obi had in SE&SW will be diminished.

I lived in Kaduna for 13 years. You will be shocked in 2023. The state has almost 50% Christian population and they are determined to vote Obi.

I see a lot of comments referencing Jonathan winning the presidency without winning NW. OBIdients indeed lack capacity for critical thinking. Jonathan had the overwhelming support of the entire South then. And he did reasonably well in the North too.

Can Obi win the South? He will struggle to win 30% of the votes in the South with most of his votes coming from SE and SS. He will lose woefully in the SW, win SE by small margin (very doubtful sef), get around 30% to 40% in the SS). He will surely lose NE and NW. He won't get more than 20% in NC.

Your Obi presidency is a mirage that amuses those who know politics.

One polling unit he will certainly win is SOCIAL MEDIA's

2015 is different from 2023.
The only Northerner competing with GEJ was Buhari.
Today, we have two prominent Northerners. If Obi manage to win 25% votes in 3 states in NW, he will become the next president.
Tinubu has no chance in this election. He cannot even get block votes in SW.
Obi is sure of 11 states already and atleast 25% in NC & SW making 23 states.
So with southern Kaduna Christians, he can get 25% votes in Kaduna and that is enough.
He might also win FCT, Abuja.

Now, NW and NE will be shared by Atiku, Kwankwaso and Tinubu, but that will not be enough to cancel the gains Obi has already.

Recall, Atiku lost in 2019 because Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Zamfara, and Kebbi gave Buhari block votes. Those votes will be divided in 2023.
Atiku knows this and that is why he is asking Kwankwaso to step down.

HE Sule is one of the smartest Governors in Nigeria. While your Governors were hating and blaming everyone except themselves for their failure, he was regularly visiting Lagos and Asiwaju Tinubu to take clues on governance and how he can leverage on his states abundant resources and geography.

Today, Nasarawa is the centre of mining in Nigeria and most of the mining projects took off after favourable laws and policies took off. He is building a community next to Abuja to offer people the option of living in Nasarawa and working in Abuja.


He found a worthy leader in Asiwaju Tinbubu and I believe he is right that Asiwaju Tinubu will complete two terms and not more.
