it is not really an aptitude test, it is more or less a test to check your intelligence level and communication skills.

straight to the point,last year my brother got a sack letter from a company he was working for after 3years with the organization. Then this month he got another employment. During the process of submitting forms after employment[you know all this guarantor forms, bank statement, etc.]He was asked if he had a pension account which he affirmatively replied. So he submitd the account detail only for the HR To check and find out that no single dime as ever been paid into the account. And for 3years the companyhas been deductin a sum of 5k per month for pension.There was even a time he got a silp from the pension office that a sum of 7500 was paid in. I want to know if there is something he can do or its normal.

First thing to do is identify which organization was responsible for the pension scheme in his organization, then put together all the documentation relating to the pension scheme. If he still has records of alerts of payment into the pension account, he should include it too. Take all the documentation to the organization, they should be able to sort this out. Hope this helps.

Finance Roles:
• Implement financial policies and procedures.

• Prepare schedules for all taxes withheld or paid on a monthly basis.
• Provide support in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual CTL reports

• Reconcile the accounts payables.

• A successful Administrative Officer will act as the point of contact for all employees, providing administrative support and managing their queries.
• Managing office stock and preparing reports

• Ensure a proper filing system is put in place at FO level for any Contracts in a separate file, using a chronological sequencing of contracts per project.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: The ideal candidate must possess:

A Bsc degree in Accounting, Finance or any related fields.
Have completed NYSC
Have at least one year experience
Proficient use of Excel, Word and other office suites
Multitasking skills.
Good numerical skills
Excellent communication skills.

it just means you cannot apply directly, a current staff ( an accounting officer) at BPE has to nominate you first, then you will then apply alongside a confirmation letter from the staff inclusive of the staff's CV and your CV. Hope this helps.

2nd Degree,ACCA/ACA OR 6-years Work Experience which one is Key?
I just lost a job offer of 650k because of Professional Certification.

This recent one happened to be a Finance Manager and which i got to the last stage as a result of proven extensive work experience in Accounting and Financial Operations and with my MBA. But i was surprised when the CFO that interviewed me said he would've chosen me but it's quite unfortunate that i have no Professional Certification(ACA or ACCA) not considering the fact that I'm at the final stage already and i have HND & MBA with 6yrs exp.
It really pained me but i just I've to let it go.
But one thing i'm sure of is that there's nothing a Chattered Accountant can do that i can not, but there's a lot that i can do with my experience that a chattered accountant cannot do. so why the discrimination?.

My questions goes thus; 1. Why do company always want a Chattered Accountant by all means to fill the position in Account and Finance.
2. Is 6-years Extensive Work Experience in Account not enough for a person to hold a position of a Finance Manager?
3. Does MBA not ok enough to hold that position?

This is my take on this, certifications are absolutely important, however the CFO should have offered the job to him given his extensive experience with a condition that he gets this certification within a given period (say the next two years).
