Unfortunately, many people failed to yield my call, and we made a greater mistake. |
This is a very good. The founder of POLTERGEIST ONLINE MEDIA graduated from ADENIRAN OGUNSANYA COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (AOCOED) which has been turned into LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION (LASUED). And He has always been talking about how this college is long overdue for upgradation to a University of Education. Kudos to Sanwo Olu. |

".......The destruction of the soul of AD was as a result of Bólá Tinubu wanting to take over the Party from the Elders" (The above quote was excerpted from Kofoworola Bucknor's interview with Vanguardngr.com in Oct 10th, 2009. And this piece of work is base on that). Tinubu's Ascend to power is questionable. One would be right if they say that He would not have become a governor were followed and no Local government area's Election was cancelled. What do I mean? Funsho Williams would have won the primary if the results of one or two local governments had not been cancelled as revealed by Mrs Bucknor. However, as the Results were cancelled, Tinubu who was initially in 2nd place became the winner. The Leaders of AD were skeptical at first mainly because Tinubu was not a member of Afẹ́nífẹ́rè. However, they had no choice, He had been pronounced the winner and so they had to forward His name as their Man and Governorship candidate. But AD needed someone who is a Member of Afẹ́nífẹ́rè to be in governance because of their laid down structure. Tinubu was not in this structure nor did He fit in it. To have someone who is part of this structure in governance, Kofoworola Bucknor was given the Deputy. Note that Tinubu didn't help Found the AD party but joined because He needed a platform to contest and the Afẹ́nífẹ́rè at that time would win any election, and that is why Him and Funsho Williams joined them. However, Kofoworola Bucknor was a founding Member. In fact, Mrs Bucknor was the one that went to INEC office twice to register AD as a party. Tinubu was abroad at the time the Party was created, a supposedly member of the NADECO in diaspora. Claiming to be a Member of NADECO made Tinubu to be accepted into AD. After AD won the Election, and Tinubu became the governor, and Kofoworola Bucknor became the Deputy, the Elders of AD at the time were not interested in interfering in governance. Their Major interest was to keep the Party as strong as it was and to make sure that those that worked for the party to win the election are properly rewarded regardless of their relationship with the incumbent, Bólá Tinubu. This was the beginning of the problem. Tinubu wanted to remove all those who weren't loyal to him from power, whether they are loyal to the party or not, He didn't care, as long as they are not loyal to Him. An Example is that of Ganiyu Dawodu, the then Chairman of AD in Lagos. Ganiyu didn't support Tinubu in primary but rather supported Funsho Williams. This angered Tinubu and When He won, He planned to remove Him and replace Him with His Deputy, Chief Femi Taiwo. Kofoworola Bucknor kicked against this, another problem started from there. Tinubu started seeing Bucknor as a threat, despite that She was his deputy. Tinubu started becoming distant toward Bucknor. He wouldn't hand over to Her whenever He is out of the country, nor would He tell Her if He was travelling. Most times, Bucknor always hear from other People that Tinubu had traveled. Without handing over the governance to Her. He always preferred to leave His own people in charge. All these were not surprising to Bucknor because She knew what Tinubu's plan was. Tinubu had rather unwittingly (or Maybe He thought Bucknor would be loyal to him) revealed that He had an ambition to become Vice President under Atiku in 2007 If the latter run for President (remember Atiku was in PDP?). This means that Tinubu was planning to jump ship. Lmao. Tinubu revealed this to Bucknor and Lai Muhammad in Kresta Laurel (Gbenga Daniel's office). They were using the office temporarily before they were sworn in. It was after a meeting with some Australian ambassadors that Tinubu revealed that that He would replace Ganiyu Dawodu with Femi Taiwo because aside from the fact that the Former was not loyal to Him, He wanted to Use the latter for His campaign when He started running for vice president in 2007 under Atiku. Bucknor was surprised at this but He didn't say anything, rather it was Lai Muhammad that retorted that He knew that Tinubu plan was to run for vice president in 2007, and He was fully in support of Him. Bucknor rebuffed Tinubu and and advised Him to rather bring Funsho Williams on board. But Tinubu wouldn't listen. This made Bucknor to realise that Tinubu was working against the party as there is no way He would run for VP under Atiku without changing to PDP. PDP is the ruling party in National level and there is no way for Atiku to join AD. For Tinubu to become VP, He has to change party. This was so glaring. Bucknor had known all these, so She wasn't surprised when Tinubu started shutting her off. She didn't care, she was only interested in protecting the interest of the party which she helped founded. Tinubu started making moves to make sure that Bucknor was impeached. Bucknor tried to warn the party leaders and Elders about Tinubu schemes but They have been bought. They didn't believe Her. They all believed Bucknor to have betrayed the party. Fast forward to 2002, Tinubu traveled, but not before giving instructions to the then speaker of the house of assembly to impeach Bucknor before He come back. Bucknor anticipated this, She knew Tinubu is hell bent on destroying Her, Her reputation and political career. And upon advise from Her family, she did what every sane person would do, She resigned before She could be impeached. She submitted her resignation letter in December 15, 2002. Eventually, Tinubu did as Bucknor had predicted. He destroyed the AD party, forming His own Party named AC. However, whatever become of His ambition to become VP under Atiku is unknown. This ambition must have been buried because of Tinubu's feud with Obasanjo, making Him form his own party. Tinubu probably knew He could not become president in 2007, especially after Obasanjo who was also a Yorùbá just finished serving His 2 terms. Maybe that was why He didn't jump ship and rather form his party and gather his loyal Followers for the Future (2023). Follow Us on Twitter: @Poltergeist_NG |
Potentiality has always been a menace and Pandemic to our Politics in Nigeria. The Hope of what a certain Politician would do when He gets to power rather than What He can actually do. That is why We see Politician promising heaven and earth during Election campaigns, things they know is impossible for them to do, but since that is what the electorates wants to hear, they Promise it. And then, the Electorates gullibility sets in and We believe the Lies. And After Four years of going back and forth, to and fro like a pendulum, We realise that our intelligence has been played on. It happens with Buhari, and it probably would happen with the next Nigeria President, if we fails to elect the right Person. The Games and politicking have started, and People are not talking about competence but rather on what the various politicians who have expressed their desire to run is promising. The corn eating by the roadside has started. The using of innocent Children to make skits for political validations and garnering of sympathy towards oneself have started. Many More are still yet to start, but they would very soon. My Advice to Nigeria is, We have Many credible Politicians, with great track records and whose competency cannot be questioned running for Presidency (it's not in my place to recommend or mention any name), find them and support them with everything You have. 2023 is around the corner and this time, we can't afford to get it wrong. The Country is in dilapidation and needs a quick revamp and revivification. If We Get it Wrong Now, we might never Get it right again. We should stop Playing the Politics Of Emotion, and Start doing the right thing. We played the Politics of Emotions in 2015, and here We are worst than we were. We allowed ourselves to be brainwashed twice. The Past administration was not Saint filled, but it was not laden with such evils as this present one. Remember 20-10-20. Remember the Twitter Ban. Remember the Cryptocurrency Ban. Remember the Frozen Bank Accounts. Remember the hundreds and thousands that have died because the present administration cannot provide a basic need of Security. Remember the current state of the country, the economy going to the dogs and the deteriorated state of the Nation. We have suffered enough, and It is Time to really take back our Nation. I implores the Youths of this great County to come out en masses just like we did during the End SARS protest to really vote for our preferred candidate. The candidate that really genuinely Want to help develop this country. We need the #EndSars like movement again. Remember that, 2023 is already Here! 2023 is Coming, GET YOUR PVC. 2023 is Coming, VOTE RIGHT AND VOTE WISELY. Follow Me on Twitter: @Poltergeist_NG for real time political talks. |
Misplaced priority as always. Nigeria Government will always do the wrong thing at the Wrong time. And that is because we allow people with archaic and outdated methodologies to lead Us. The End Sars protest that started on twitter really rattle them and shook them to ghe marrow. I hope they don't get around to doing this though. The Twitter ban took us back several years. We can't afford to be dragged back again. |
I have always been of the opinion that the #EndSars protest was a massive success. Despite the tragedy that happened on 20-10-20 at Lekki that prematurely ended the National Movement. I believe in the Hope I felt when I saw thousands of Nigeria Youths, at Home and in diaspora who came out like they have never done before to protest massively against the Government, and Police Brutality. It is Unjust and Unfair to have kept quiet for so long, but the rush of hope I felt at that time cannot yet be quantified or comprehended by Me. I saw the Youths of my Country came out with United Voices to say a Massive "NO!" to the Injustice meted on them by those paid to protect and secure them. However, after 1 year and few months, I have had to rethink my involvement in the Protest. Not that I regretted my participation, involvement or everything I did, but I can't help but wonder if maybe, and Just Maybe if the Protest didn't come too soon. I've been having these rethinks after seeing how so many have forgotten about everything that happened during the Period and seeing that My Fellow "Youths" are now embracing the same politicians they protested against, and vow not to have anything to do with. I saw David Hundeyin's tweets (https://twitter.com/DavidHundeyin/status/1489654929425936392?t=X7XzYYdkhol0uZG5H7c28Q&s=19 to view it on twitter or https://www.nairaland.com/6972364/david-hundeyin-endsars-activists-like to view it on Nairaland), and I couldn't help but agree with everything He said because He was right as Usual. During the protest, I was among the People that said it that 2023 was too long to carry the aggression of that Protest into the Election ground. It would have been better for Nigeria and Nigerians if the Protest happens around this time when Election is around the corner. With the experience of the Protest still fresh on our Mind, we probably would make better Choices at the Poll. But now that everybody has moved on, then we might make the same mistake we made in 2015, we are already at that path. Even the Twitter Influencers and Activists that were at the forefront getting shot with Water cannons and tear gases have started politicking with Politicians they vow not to have anything to do with. They seems to have forgotten their resolution and every thing the #EndSars protest stood For. We really needs awakening calls or else, we might find ourselves gnashing for another 8 years and this time, I don't think anybody will be motivated to protest. Do not get me wrong, I know that protesting at the time we did was good and for a Good Reason, and I surely would do it again if I have another chance. But it surely came too soon and it FAILS because even after all those things we did, Police Brutality is still on rampage and People are still getting harassed at every turn. Just yesterday, a Lady was arrested and detain because She went out to buy post pregnancy pills (or whatever it is called). This and many more examples shows why the Protest fails and why it happened too soon. It would have been Better If It Happens around this Time. But I believe in a Greater Nigeria, and the 2020 #EndSars protest gave me hope that the dream could actually be actualise. I Hope for a better Nigeria and it starts from making the right Electoral decisions in 2023. 2023 is coming, GET YOUR PVC! 2023 is Coming, VOTE RIGHT AND VOTE WISELY! Rinu started well, and When She did, she didn't start for the Money or fame. I'm sure of Her genuine intentions. But the speed at which Her fame skyrocketed following the #EndSars protest is alarming and greatly contributed to Her faux thought that of supremacy at the scheme of things. I have nothing to say about Her here, everything that needs to be said would be said on my twitter account @Poltergeist_NG. However, the End SARS itself, was it a success? Or an avenue for some people to make names for themselves? Did it happened at the right time? I have an article waiting on that. Follow Me on Twitter @Poltergeist_NG for real time political talks. |

I could not stop laughing as i read numerous tweets aimed at various skit makers who were being backlash for going on a visit to the Vice President, Yemi osinbajo in what many feels is a betrayal of trust to the Nigerian Youths It is simply ludicrous and incredulous to think that We actually believe that at some point, all the youths of Nigeria will be united under a common cause. It really shows that We have learnt nothing from the #EndSars period. It really shows that most of us didn't pay attention to details and we really only did participated in that protest because of the free rice that was shared at Lekki. Didn't many Fellow "yoots" condemned us for protesting? Didn't Many Fellow "yoots" held a pro #EndSars protest claiming that they want SARS on our road and that those of us who wanted the end of SARS are internet Fraudsters (Yahoo Boys)? Didn't many "yoots" claimed that there was no massacre at Lekki? Didn't many "Yoots" helped the Government in Hijacking the Peaceful protest by being the weapons of destruction that destroyed so many properties attributed to the Peaceful protesters? Weren't so many of the hoodlums that attacked peaceful protesters "yoots" or have we forgotten so quickly that we had to hire our own security? Now, look at all these examples and tell me the motives that could have turned these "yoots" on their fellow youths. It is Money! Money! Yes! Money! And perhaps some promises of some sort. These Skit Makers whatever they are are also Humans. And just like you and Me, they could be bought. "Everybody has a price" I don't blame them really. Some of them have come out to say they used the opportunity to talked to the Vice President about some things that are going wrong in the country, as If Osibanjo is dumb, deaf and blind and He is oblivious to what is going on in the country. The same Osibanjo that claimed His Hands are tied. An ordinary Puppet. What would talking to Him do. To me, they have given flimsy and expected excuse. They told us what they thought we want to hear. They thought telling Us they went there so as to have the opportunity to talk about issues we are facing in Nigeria, we would applaud them. As if The Vice president and everybody at Aso Rock don't know what the average Nigerian is facing and how hard life is for the Average Nigerian. I will urge my fellow youths to leave this Skit makers. They are only looking for how to put food on their table. I read it somewhere that this Skit makers are losing lot of followers by the hour. Unfollowing them won't do anything. Follow them. Watch their skits and laugh at it (God knows we need those skits at these trying period of our Nation) Patronise any good they advertise. But Do not forget what they have done. Leave it to posterity. Those pictures they snapped would be on the internet for a long time. And that will serves as evidence against them. ~ The Poltergeist. (unknownpoltergeist@gmail.com). |
