If these things were built in the UK or Dubai, Hope wouldn't have had a single power to do the things he's doing.

I'm not saying it's right for Okorocha to have stolen, but one of our clamours in recent years is that these thieves should invest the money in Nigeria when they steal them. Now we have someone who did that and he's being made to regret it.

Tara was shocked, they have never quarreled like this before. Did Mimi just slapped her because if a guy? This is serious! Is Richard worth this? That guy isn't sincere, he will just use her friend and dump her; she won't allow that! She had to open her eyes before it becomes late.

"Mirabel, did you just slap me because of Richard?"

"Yes, and I'll do it again and again if you dare bad mouth him again. I love that guy and you'll have to respect that. I've always respected your boyfriends, why can't you treat mine the same way I treated yours?"

"The fact is, that guy is not your boyfriend. What do you know about him apart from the fact that he's rich? What else? Have you ever visited him in his house? Or rather, has he ever invited you to his house? I can't believe you could fall sheepishly in love with someone who doesn't give a Bleep about you!"

"Shut up Tamara! Shut up!!!!" Mimi barked at her.

"Truth, they say is bitter, but it has to be told." Tara said as she left the house forgetting her pot of stew. Mimi sank on the chair and wept.

Tara left the house devastated, she wondered what has come over Mimi, why she was acting that way since she met Richard. She wandered in school campus and sat down under the mango tree she usually sit with Mimi each time they want to read. She was deep in thought that she didn't notice Ruth, her friend and course mate walked up to her.

"Tara," Ruth called.

"Hi Ruth," she said. "What's up?"

"I'm supposed to be asking you that. You look sad and deep in thought. What's up with you?" She asked sitting beside her.

Ruth used to be her close friend before she met Mimi, she began to distance herself from her but the girl never gave up on their friendship. She made sure to advice her each time she falls out with Mimi.

"Nothing Ruth, am fine," she lied not wanting to bore Ruth with her problems with Mimi.

"You and I know that you are not fine, come on, am your friend; you can talk to me. Is it about Mimi?" Tara nodded. "What happened?"

"We had a fight this morning, she slapped me. Can you believe that? She slapped me because of a guy." She lamented.

"A guy?? You mean the quarrel was about a guy?"

"Yes, a guy she claimed to love "

"What?! Mimi is in love? I don suffer!"

"I was amazed."

"Alright, tell me what happened."

Tara narrated everything to her. Ruth kept quiet and listened. When she was through, she concluded by saying she was leaving the house first thing tomorrow morning.

"It hasn't gotten to that now!" Said Ruth.

"I know but I feel so bad that a guy is trying to destroy the friendship we've build for years."

Ruth did her best, she advised her not to turn her back on Mimi now because she needs her. "She needs you now, no matter how much you hate guys now; you have to be nice to her guy friends. Remember how she treated your ex's. She was nice to them. Even when she was not in support of you dating Zubby, she was never rude to him. Tara agreed with her and decided to return home.

By the time she got home, Mimi was calm. She had spoken to Richard to apologize on Tara's behalf but was surprised to know that he wasn't mad at Tara. He even blamed her for fighting with Tara.

" You know how she feels about guys." He had said. "You of all people should understand her better, instead of fighting with her, you should have sympathized with her, she's been through a lot."

Mom felt bad after discussing with Richard, she felt bad for slapping her best friend, she felt sorry for the wrong words she used on her. She couldn't wait to apologize to her, she brought out her phone and dialed her number. Unfortunately, she left her phone at home.

"Where are you Tara! Please forgive me." She said.

"I'm sorry," Mimi said as soon as Tara got in. "I didn't mean to slap or say those words to you."

"I'm sorry too," Tara apologized. "It was my fault, I shouldn't have disrespected your guest. Do you mind giving his number? I want to personally apologize to him."

"Of course, why not," exclaimed Mimi happy. "Use my phone." She gave her her phone and she dialed the number.

Episode 7

"You have to make it up to me by having dinner with me tonight." Richard said on the other end.

"Okay, fine. I'll only come if Mimi will come with us."

"Am sure she will, just inform her."

"Okay," she said and hung up.

"Sorry girl, I won't be able to make it tonight. I have an assignment to do." Mimi said when she was informed.

"Which assignment is that one?"

"The one of last week, I haven't done it and Mr. Okeke is threatening me." Mimi replied.

"Why didn't you tell me about it?" Tara asked disappointed.

"Don't worry, just go and keep my boyfriend company tonight. I trust you."

"Are you sure about that?"

"I have never been so sure in my life, you can use the opportunity to check him out for me." she replied smiling. "But make sure you give me the full details, okay? Don't cancel anything from me. I trust your judgement Tara." She held her hand. "This is the first time am falling in love. Please help me."

"Sure," she replied as she called Richard to inform him. She wasn't comfortable going out with him alone, she still believe he has no feelings for her friend. Well, maybe this is an opportunity to know what is really going on between him and her best friend. So, she got ready for the dinner.

Richard was dressing up in his room humming unconsciously, he looked so happy, he was glad to be going on a date with her alone. All thanks to Mimi for refusing, she's such an angel for refusing to go with them. Seemed like she read his mind, he will thank her later for it.

"I can see someone is happy tonight," a voice said behind him. He was startled and turned. It was Cynthia. He had forgotten she was in his apartment.

"Oh Cynthia, is you!" He said. " you startled me.

"Sorry, so where are we going?" She asked smiling.

"We? No girl, am going alone."

"Why don't you take me with you? It's boring here without you." She pleaded.

"Why not hang out with your friends?" He suggested as he brought some money out from his drawer. "Take this, you can go shopping with your friends or something."

"Is you I want, not this damn money." She screamed at him as she threw the money away. "Why are you treating me like this? Why? Is there a new catch? Are you going on a date with someone else?"

He ignored her and walked out, time is not his friend anymore. He would have sat Cynthia down and explain to her that his new catch is not just any girl but a girl he would love to spend the rest of his life with. He will still talk to her. He thought as he picked up his car keys. "I have to go to my destiny!" He sang as he left the house.

He couldn't beat the traffic, it was so bad that he thought of parking his car and trekking to the restaurant. He was already 10 minutes late and the drive from there is 30 minutes. He was still contemplating on what to do when he heard some noise, he looked up and saw some drivers coming out from their vehicles and raining abuses at someone; he wondered what was going on. From the look of things, the traffic jam is going to take a long to subside. He decided to do the only thing he knows how to do. jog!

Tara was infuriated, "he invited me here only to keep me waiting," she thought as she checked her time for the umpteenth time. "I might just walk away from here." She waved to the waiter to pay her bills. The waiter approached, she opened her purse and brought out some money. She was about handling it over to the waiter when she heard a familiar voice behind her.

"Not so fast girl!"

She recognized the voice and stood up to face him with an angry stare.. "What the heck......!" She stopped when she saw him, he looked so haggard and all sweaty. Has he been running? She asked herself. "What happened to you?" She asked as she signaled to the waiter to leave. "You came an hour late looking like someone who just ran 1000 metre race."

"Exactly!" I just ran 5000 metre race all because of you." He said sitting.

"What happened?" She asked again sitting down, Richard sat opposite her.

"There was traffic on the way, when I thought the traffic was getting better, a trunk got spoilt at the middle of the road, I had no choice than to park my car somewhere and jogged down here."

"You could have called to cancel the dinner," she said.

"Yes I could have if only I had your number."

She sighed and apologized once again for being rude to him the other day.

"Is okay, I understand what you are going through." She looked at him questioning. " Mimi told me everything Mara, but you don't have to shut yourself out just because some idiots broke your heart."

She was furious! How dare Mimi discuss her with a stranger! She will get it from her when she gets home.

"Oh No!" Exclaimed Richard reading her thoughts. "Don't be mad at your friend, she was only concerned about you. Besides, I was the one who pestered her to tell me all about you girls."

"I can relate. What exactly do you want from us Richard?" Tara asked with seriousness.

"I just want to be a friend, not just any friend but that friend who can confide in, that friend you can run to in times of trouble. I want to be that friend."

"But I already have that friend. She's Mimi. Don't tell me you want to take her place." She joked. "Besides, am not interested in having any guy as a friend.

"You know I can never take her place," he said and smiled.

She studied him, he was more handsome than she thought. He was a beautiful man. He has a fine and trim masculine body that will make any woman melt. No wonder her friend is so much in love with him, is time she finds out what his relationship

"And Mimi," she asked. "What do you think of her?"

The executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. Apostle David Umahi has expressed excitement over the improvement in the health of his friend, the Ex. Deputy Governor of old Imo State, Chief Francis Orji as he visited him at Niger Barracks, Abuja on Sunday.
Recall that Chief Orji had a domestic accident a few weeks ago and has remained out of public appearance because of his ill health.
But the Governor on his visit to Chief Orji said, "We thank God that you are recuperating quickly.
"We will keep checking on you until you get better.
"You are a very wonderful man in the state and the state is missing your contributions very well.
"We are happy that we met you very strong and will be glad to have you back very soon."
Responding, Chief Francis Orji expressed deep excitement on seeing the Governor, he prayed to God to take good care of Governor Umahi just as he is taking good care of him and other Ebonyi elders.
"I owe you a lot, my son.", he said.

Police are one of the most ubiquitous organisations of the society. The policemen, therefore, happen to be the most visible representatives of the society but, the case of Ezzagu police division happens to be a different one as, reverse is their case study.. According to one of the Ezzagu patriots (Mazi Godwin Ezaka) who visited the Ezzagu Police Station within the week, wept on his arrival. 

He said: 'We are doomed security wise and I pity the only Policeman, ASP Udeh we met on ground. He needs encouragement, empowerment and our support. He laid the whole blame of insecurity on the youths of the community. He lacks water, electricity, mobility, manpower and he is tired of using his personal money to clear the grasses. Nigerian police should be equipped in all times, as there  are possibility of danger, crisis and difficulty. when a citizen does not know, what to do and whom to approach, the police station and a policeman stands to be the most suitable and appropriate unit to register your complain. Police division, post and headquarter should be readily available and made accessible, interactive and conducive organisation of every society. Ezzagu police station is in a total mess as it has been abandoned for a years unattended to by the government. A lots of registered and cognizable offences should have been registered in Ezzagu Nigerian post, but the functions and the service of the division is crumbled and doomed by the responsible arm of the government.

Saturday, 30th of January 2021 is a tragedic one in Ezzagu Ishielu local government area of Ebonyi state as a heavily armed gunmen suspected to be Fulani herders invaded the community raining bullets to the community and abducted one of the occupants of RAV4 Jeep and left so many others injured.

According to one of the victims (name withheld) who is yet to recover from the shock narrated his ordeal. "We were coming down from Onitsha for a function in our village when the armed men attacked us from the nearby bush shooting sporadically and directly towards our car. It was by the grace of God that me and my brothers in the car survived to escape with a various degree of injuries "

People who are heavily wounded are rushed to University teaching hospital Enugu/ Ituku ozalla for proper medications.

Ezzagu in Ebonyi state is a district which comprises of Azuinyaba,Ezzagu and Ezekuna communities. Ezzagu from the east has it's boundary with Amagunze in Enugu state, and west with Nara, also in Enugu state while Isu and Ezillo for it's North and South respectively.

It is pertinent to let known of the public that there is no single police post from the popular 3corners in Nkanu east local government area of Enugu state through the said Ezzagu road axis to Ezillo, Ishielu local government headquarter. The absence of the policemen on the road made the ugly conditions of federal road worst as their absence exposes the community and the road users to more dangers.

The gunmen now took advantage of the deplorable state of the road to unleash deadly attacks to the community and the road users as the road leading from Amagunze to Ezzagu is almost inaccessible.

As at the time of filling this report, the abducted person is yet to be released as the abductor have called using his number to seek for ransom.

Recently, there is this news flying the whole of social media about one man who decided to change the traditional steps in marriage by taking the bull by its horn. The groom has decided to walked his heart rob in Igbo traditional way of marriage in Imo state last weekend. Marriage is established once there is agreement between the bride and the groom. Since marriage is an universal agreement of duo who chooses to come together as a husband and wife, why then do we prefer white Wedding to our own traditional style?

A lots of people believed that couple are still incomplete to the things of God until they walk down to the altar for a white Wedding. The white wedding of today started it's journey from Great Britain which first became popular with Victorian era elites after Queen Victoria wore a white lace dress at her wedding. To me, white wedding is for the white people while the traditional wedding is for the Africans with a peculiar history.

Why do people run away from the traditional wedding?

No matter what happened, traditional way of marriage will always remain as some churches today in Africa country can never join any couple unless the present to them with a certification letter from the traditional home where the bride is coming out from. The essence of the certificate is to ensure that the bride price and other traditional related requirements are met with before the white wedding.

Is it necessary for a couple to wed both in a traditional and the foreign way?

The answer is No. like I said earlier before, marriage is established immediately when the concerned persons pronounced their agreement to the hearing of their witnesses. There is no reason why one is properly done with the traditional wedding will dress up with suit and white lace for the white wedding aka foreign wedding.

Traditional wedding is better in all ramifications, firstly it is our cultural responsibility to institute a marriage in a traditional grand style. The law should let the couples dressed in their native attire and proceeds to the village playground where the consent of the people should be clearly made. Traditional Way of marriage is supposed to be the best form of marriage as the white/church wedding we look up on to is the borrowed culture that has its guidelines unknown to the Africans.

Should we allow our own culture to die in the cost of practicing white man culture? The answer is capital No. Traditional way of marriage has come to stay in Africa.

Recommendations:

If we can adopt the traditional wedding as our cultural way to marriage, then I will highly recommend the adoption of putting on traditional attire, celebrating the marriage at the village playground, using of kola-nuts and decorating of the playground with our cultural costumes.

My Take: It's obvious that people respect men more to God. God is the creator of men and the maker of heaven and earth and everything in it. It baffles me that, some people respect tradition more than the super naturalist himself. 

Research, shows that marriage vows made in the church are easily broken, why?. During the marriage vow in the church of God, the couple will make a pronouncement of certain vows to the hearing of the church and the supreme being. It will be pertinent to say that such vow can hardly survived the taste of time.

Now, if marriage is beckoned on the traditional agreements, people will try everything possible to be guided by the vow made during the initiation. No wonder some prominent traditionalist chooses the traditional ways of marriage most times.

There are some known people or place who doesn't play or joke  with their tradition, places like Nsuka, Abakaliki and some part of Delta state are good examples of people who cares much about their traditions when it's comes to marriage, and it's one of the reasons why it is easier to managed couples from the aforementioned tribe.

WHY ANYIM? MUST YOU ALWAYS FIGHT EVERY EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF EBONYI STATE….?

I ought not to have responded to the open insult/assault on our dear wonder working Governor by no other person than you “Sen. Anyim “A known serial fighter and distractor of every Government since the creation of Ebonyi State but for posterity sake.

It is rather funny and I’m surprised you can allow your Name on that ill fated letter/document which falls standard of any form of letter from a man who has once held the office of the President of the Senate and Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

It is more ridiculous that you can allow yourself to be used to concote stories of Rev. Ononye, Prof. Odoh and Charles Otu just to score a cheap political goal and undermine a Godsent Man, anointed for the BLESSING AND LIBERATION of Ebonyi State.

Let me tell you Sir, that I live here in Abakaliki and Edda, thus Ebonyians knows the truth as we know who did what.

I want you to note as follows;

1. That your antics of fighting every elected Governor of our state is known to us and cannot work this time as Ebonyians are wiser. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

2. That the BLOOD of innocent Ebonyians you and Senator Sam Egwu wasted in 2002/2003 is still crying for justice and we will not allow such again.

3. That for your information, Engr. David Nweze Umahi was already a complete and successful Man prior to 2015 election as he had excelled in the business world, was a one time State Chairman of the then ruling party and Incumbent Deputy Governor of dear State before 2014/2015.

4. That it beats my imagination that after you held our common patrimony hostage for years as you collected FUNDS made for the people’s project, collected assorted brand new cars from the state government, you suddenly realised that all is not well.
WHO IS FOOLING WHO?

5. That I challenge you to make public your developmental contribution to our dear State having held many highly placed offices in this nation.

6. That instead of coming to unleash terrorism/violence on Ebonyians, it is better for you to go and answer for how you looted FUNDS meant for the Centenary City in Abuja.

It is on this note that I wish you to as a matter of urgency;

A. Stop forthwith, any form of insult/assault on the Executive Governor of our dear State.

B. Allow us enjoy the peace and tranquility we have here in Ebonyi State.

C. Display your scorecard for Ebonyians to see.

I. That in the history of Ebonyi State, we have never seen a Workaholic Governor as Dave who as a Governor has transformed the State Capital “Abakaliki” to one of the best in Nigeria.

V. That a visit to the new Government House constructed by the people’s Apostle will help teach you some sense.

I want to point out some weak and outdated education system in churches which needs to be altered. Today we are living in a society where millions of children are unable to go to missionary schools due to the hike of their fees.

Let me quickly introduce to you what missionary schools is all about. Missionary schools is a school built by the mission in order to alleviate or cut down the cost of education in a given country. It is a school providing a general education but supported by a particular church in contrast to a public school or a nondenominational private schools. The missionary schools today as we all known is the schools built by the mission,priest or pastor with the money donated by the poor. The cost of the so called missionary schools are beckoned on the expenses of the poor whose their primary aim is to attract the goodness and blessings of the lord.

Many of the church paupers (poor) as they were labelled holds the sensitive parts towards the actualization of the good for nothing project called missionary schools. My question now is, how many children of these poor contributors, who toiled with their every penny on ground had benefited from the so called missionary schools? Missionary schools are supposed to be for the welfare of the poor and as a tripod stands that supports the educational plans of the poor people.

The most expensive schools today are owned by the missions who are in a competitions of who pays the highest fees to the detriments of the poor. The churches of today especially in Nigeria are properly out for business, what is the faith of our Christianity? Let me quickly bring down your conscience in case you have lost it. Do you think there will be a missionary schools without the poor congregants? Do you know that the private jets, expensive cars and the high class life of the pastors and the priests are being taken care of by the poor? There will be no them without us. Nonsense!

The problem of Nigerians today is still unknown, the government of the country is not doing anything to help her citizens, the churches who are supposed to stands for us are raping us from behind. What a fraud in a magnified level!

Missionary schools are supposed to be for those who could not afford to pay their fees. Its supposed to be free of charges. Why is it supposed to be free of charges? The school was built by the monies realizes from the poor, the salaries of the teachers, tutors and the lecturers of the said institutions will still being shared in the churches among the poor followers, why will their children not benefits from the schools?

During the church projects, some of the wretched ones who cannot make a huge financial contributions, contributes their human supports by clearing the sites meant for the projects and doing some other domestic jobs, absolutely for free. What other contributions do you expect from the poor?

Just as spiderweb holds fast a fly, millions of poor people are held fast by the superstitions and falsehood of the so called churches. My children may not attend the so called missionary schools tomorrow, but let the justice be done, What is good for the goose is also good for the gander.

To all the churches and the missionary schools in Nigeria, i know you must have heard a bigger thing than this, but chooses to hardened yours hearts. Our people have been fooled many times in the name of Christianity, as a shepherd, what joy do you find when the sheep under your care are being messed up? The welfare of the people under your care should be your top priority. It is better for me to give directly to the needy than giving my money to the churches of today who careless about her followers.

The pastors and the priests are becoming richer and fatter, while the poor congregations whose their money are being used for their up keeps are becoming poorer, what a lackadaisical formation! It is only in Nigeria that missionary schools turned to be the opposite. Missionary schools should be scrapped from the churches of today, i mean, they should also stop using the name of God's church in defrauding her followers. The poor should left alone in every contributions meant for the project of the church, since it is now their personal business enterprise.

The cost of traveling and studying abroad is now lesser than going into any educational institution in Nigeria built and managed by the missions. This posts is not in any way written or meant to cajole anybody, churches or the so called missionary schools, but to unveil the hidden truths.

I had this issues with my landlady, she threatened to eject me from her house if I did not pack out within the 3 months notice she gave to me. I am not owing this woman, my rent are to expire on April 2019. My problem with her is that my brothers normally came around looking for me in my apartment.
