I like Sanusi, he is intelligent, more pro Nigeria than he is pro North, bold and far from extremism, but then i hate him for rallying with those that removed GEJ back in 2015. I however forgive him because i feel he did what he did in good faith. PMB is not what he was thought to be by those that pushed for his emergence. That said, I make bold to further state that should Ganduje eventually depose Emir Sanusi as he is gunning to, chances are that the powers that be will project Sanusi as its choice candidate in 2023 Kano Gubernatorial. If That happens, anything can happen. |
I know this stunt. He is simply looking for money from Tonto and Bob. Dude didn't lose anything jare. Lol. Sharp guy, I like your style. ![]() |

The Kano State House of Assembly on Tuesday passed into law the Pensions Rights of Speaker and Deputy Law 2019, which will enable the two presiding officers earn life pensions after leaving office, DAILY NIGERIAN Reports. Apart from the life pensions, DAILY NIGERIAN gathered, the speaker and the deputy speaker will enjoy foreign medical trips and brand new vehicles after every four year. “There shall be paid pension to person who held office as Speaker and Deputy Speaker equal to the emoluments of a serving Speaker and deputy speaker, provided that either the Speaker or the Deputy do not hold any paid elective or selective appointment,” the new law said. According to the pension law, any speaker or deputy that is impeached by the members will not benefit from the pension and other perks provided by the law. “Any person duly elected as Speaker or Deputy Speaker shall, on completion of his term be entitled to to a grant of pension for life by the state, provided that such person was not removed from office through impeachment by members of the House of Assembly. “Pension shall be payable to the Speaker or Deputy Speaker at the expiration of the tenure of the holder of the office. “Where the Speaker or Deputy vacates office before the expiration of the term of his office, not as a result of impeachment, he shall be paid pension pro-rata the number of years he spent in relation to his tenure of office. “Where the Speaker or Deputy Speaker dies in office before the expiration of the term of his tenure, he shall be paid pension pro-rata the number of years he spent in relation to his tenure of office. “There shall be provided for the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker a brand new vehicle to be bought by the State Government every four years. “There shall be provided for the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker medical expenses either home or abroad depending on the nature of the illness.” https://thenigerialawyer.com/just-in-kano-speaker-deputy-to-get-life-pensions-foreign-medical-trips-other-perk/

The Federal High Court in Abuja has rejected an ex parte application for an order stopping President Muhammadu Buhari from swearing in Justice Tanko Muhammad as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria. Muhammad has been acting as the CJN since January when President Muhammadu Buhari suspended the former CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen. With Onnoghen’s resignation and subsequent conviction by the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Muhammad is believed to be set to assume the office of the CJN in a substantive capacity. The main suit filed by Malcom Omirhobo Foundation, a group being promoted and represented in court by a lawyer, Mr. Malcom Omirhobo, is challenging Muhammad’s fitness to hold the office of the CJN. Justice Inyang Ekwo rejected the group’s ex parte application requesting an order stopping Buhari from swearing in the acting CJN in an acting capacity, in a ruling on Friday. The enrolled order of the court was only sighted by our correspondent on Monday. Rather than grant the application in his ruling, the judge, directed the applicant to put all the seven defendants on notice. Ex parte applications are characteristically conducted in the absence of the adverse parties. But Justice Ekwo ruled that the prayers sought by the applicant in its ex parte application could not be granted in the defendants’ absence. After hearing the plaintiff’s lawyer, Justice Ekwo ruled, “It is hereby ordered as follows: “That none of the prayers made on this motion ex parte can be granted in the absence of the defendants. “The plaintiff is hereby ordered to put the defendants on notice. “The defendants are hereby granted seven days upon being served to appear and show cause why the application of the plaintiff ought not to be granted. “Case adjourned till May 13, 2019, for the defendants to show cause.” https://thenigerialawyer.com/court-refuses-to-stop-buhari-from-swearing-in-tanko-muhammad-as-substantive-cjn/
