Hi all. My uni (stratford uni )has refused to transfer my sevis to the CC I want to attend. In stead they are insisting that I spend at least a semester with them or else they will release it in terminated status. I've sent them emails because I'm aware that is an illegal action on their part. They insist it's their school's policy. I'm so exhausted. Please guys who has been through this before? What are my options? Thanks a lot

do u have admission already to the CC that what is key. u should have by now ..if yes ....also time frame hard to predict but factor a slower response time due to d holiday and if u have crossed POE now then u should start it asap

It been answered before ...... Let me copy and paste my previous response . U guys read previous post oooo

Yes you can transfer after getting the visa to another school (provided you have admission offcourse) . Best to start it after you cross POE

The process usually is that you notify the current school's international office of your intention to transfer. The current school adviser will then have to transfer your sevis record to the New School with a transfer out date given. Until that transfer is done then new school cannot issue you a new I-20 (F-1 status).

You would be expected to fill out a new i-20 request form in the new school and once transfer is done and you get the new i20 then off you go ....meaning its transfer completed

The key to transfer is that your current school should release your sevis to the new school…If they don’t for whatever reason then hummmm you have a problem . If they do then, it is not complicated process.... ... for more info see link

https://studyinthestates.dhs.gov/instructions-for-transferring-to-another-school-as-an-f-1-student

Thank you so much for your response. Please how does one report to the school without having to be physically present in the school? Will sending a mail,or placing a call across actually suffice? Or is there any other special requirement? Thanks

Hello vo. I recently renewed my b1 visa last month via dropbox with the hope of going for a wedding by end of November . At the time, I was at the process of applying to various schools for admission . My plan was to dash in to the us briefly then come home and apply for an F1 visa. I'm now having a change of plans as I received my i20 yesterday. I will now like to apply for an f1 visa at once
My questions are:
1. Will the unused b1 visa be a problem at the embassy ?
2. Or do I have to use the existing b1 before an f1 can be issued?
3. If an f1 is issued, will it cancel the existing b1?

I look forward to your response

Hello VO..
I recently renewed my visitors visa, and I am looking at traveling sometime in January. During my stay I plan to visit some universities and speak to some professors on possible research topics as I plan to apply for a phd in public health for fall2017. My question is this, will I need to inform the officer at the point of entry of my plans? Or will I have to reapply from home to have my passport stamped "prospective student". Thank you

Depending on what your actual plan is ......if it is to genuinely go to school and aim to get a job , then this school i would not recommend at all. Its not a very good school especially an international looking for H1b work visa ........
OK thank you so much.

Hellol people. Please is it possible to use 2 different sponsors/bank statement for my application. My school requires 25k balance on the bank statements before they can grant an admission offer. My brother who is my sponsor does not have the balance at the moment but my dad does. Will it be a problem subsequently when I fill my ds160 form and list my brother as my sponsor. ? Cos my will pay for the actual tuition. Thanks

Good morning to all my gurus and members of this thread.I'm a silent follower and I learnt a lot on this thread.God bless y'all.
I'm looking to start school in spring 2017 session. The actual plan for me is to get into community college and obtain an associate degree in nursing. It is indeed a complete change of career path as I have a Law background and a prior Masters in Law from the Uk. ‎I plan to apply for an MBA and subsequently transfer to community college. I'm really nervous cos its a big one for me. Im also registered to take the gre test #just in case#.
Please is there any advice you can give with regards to universities I can apply to, possible interview questions, etc.
My real concern is that they may ask me the rationale for a second Masters. Which up until now, I can't find a good response.
I'm sorry for not long post. BTW I've been to the US twice in the past year. Would that help?
‎I look forward to any helpful response.
