The lawmaker representing the Ayedire/Iwo/Ola-Oluwa Federal Constituency, Osun State, Hon. Lukman Mudashiru, has awarded scholarships to 177 indigent students in the state.

The beneficiaries were awarded scholarships to study various programmes of their choice at Ahman Pategi University, Kwara State and the Federal College of Education, Iwo, Osun State.

While 75 of the students have been admitted to Ahman Pategi University the other 102 were accepted at the Federal College of Education, Iwo.

The scholarship according to the lawmaker, covered tuition fees, including acceptance fees, of the beneficiaries until they graduated from the two institutions.

Speaking with newsmen in Iwo on Thursday, Mudashiru noted that the initiative was to give opportunity to indigent but brilliant children to access quality education and make them live their dreams.

He said, “I am passionate about fighting the cycle of unequal access to education that confronted me while I was growing up.

“I was once in the demography of the less-privileged. With my story, I delight in seeing poor students become well-educated and watch them carve a happy future for themselves.

“At whatever cost, as long as it is available, I am ready to go to any length to see disadvantaged young people attain their desired heights. It is in doing this that they will help improve the society that produced them as well as fighting for fair policies like I am doing.”

Speaking further, the lawmaker said educational intervention would be a continuous exercise throughout his tenure at the National Assembly.

“All my life, I have been dedicated to this cause. But my new position has offered me a bigger platform, hence the scale of this initiative. I am going to sustain it each year throughout my membership at the National Assembly,” Hon. Mudashiru added.

The lawmaker representing Ayedire-Iwo-Ola Oluwa Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Lukman Kayode Mudashiru has described noted the explosion that occured in Ibadan on Tuesday night indicates a time to focus on Internal Security.

He also noted that this is also an indication that it is time to strengthen that Southwest Security Network, codenamed Amotekun.

The lawmaker, who is also the Vice Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Human Rights stated this on the sideline of the Telu Cup final match on Friday at Oluwo Stadium in Iwo, Osun state.

He thereafter called for thorough investigation into the matter while calling state Governors to focus on building a formidable internal security architecture within their state.

"The incident in Ibadan is sad and very unfortunate and I want to commiserate with everyone who had lost their loved ones or properties.

"But it is also an indication that it is time we begin to focus on internal security and for us in the southwest, its time to strengthen our own security outfit, named Amotekun.

"We must also ensure that thorough investigation is carried out to bring to book people who have ran foul of the existing laws in the nation thereby putting the lives of million at risk", the Lawmaker noted.

Mudashiru then commended security agencies and rescue workers who had swung into action since the incident occured.

100 Days in office : Hon. Lukman Mudasiru Opens Constituency Office, Appoints 31 Non-Statutory Aides

-Gives Business Grants to Constituents

Member House of Representatives, Hon. Lukman Mudasiru (L&K), representing Iwo/Ayedire/Ola-Oluwa federal constituency at the House of Representatives has taken a strategic step in bolstering his efforts to fulfill his Legislative Agenda for the constituency.

These aides were picked across the three local governments of the constituency, Iwo, Ayedire and Ola-Oluwa to serve as links between the lawmaker and the grassroots.

This was disclosed in an event to mark his 100 Days in office and opening of Constituency Office in Iwo, the constituency headquarters to allow his constituents direct access to him.

Before commissioning the office, Hon. Lukman had earlier announced a sum of N250,000 ( Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) business grants to 41 beneficiaries in the constituency.

He also announced an empowerment for Orphans, Widows and the People Living With Disabilities with cash sums, food items and walking aids in a bid to assist in lifting the burden off their shoulders.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Lukman said his vision to reduce joblessness, youth restiveness, thuggery and other social vices as well as bridging the gap of communication between him and the people has made him to dedicate certain percentage of his salary to create employment and reduce poverty in line with his electoral promises during campaign.

"In order to bridge the gap of communication and accessibility between me and my people while I am in Abuja, I have dedicated certain percentage of my salary in appointing the 31 Aides who would join numerous others to help me in ensuring the diligent representation by receiving their requests on my behalf, pass same to me while I attend to them as their representative"

Prior to the upcoming 2023 General Election, not fewer than 4 groups of the opposition parties in Ola Oluwa Local Government on Friday 16th December 2022, defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

*Lagos West 2023: Aeroland LG mobilization continues, Ikeja SACO team receives 1 million cash gift*

In a bid to mobilize and reward party faithfuls and members of his campaign team(Segun Adewale Campaign Organization( SACO), Lagos West PDP Senatorial Candidate, Otunba Segun Adewale(Aeroland) has donated the sum of One Million Naira to the Ikeja L.G.A chapter of the campaign organization.

Speaking at a strategic & interactive meeting held with the IKeja Chapter of SACO, Aeroland urged the campaign team to intensify efforts to meet the target of at least 1000 voters per ward across the 113 wards across the Lagos West Senatorial District.. He expressed confidence that PDP members could achieve the target considering the renewed vigour among party faithfuls.

He specifically stated that his decision to motivate the team before the elections was meant to show appreciation for keeping faith with the party despite pressured to jump ship from the party. He revealed that a lot of them have not really benefited from party dividends, hence the need to recognize & reward them.

As a mark of mobilization of his supporters, Segun Adewale Campaign Organization (SACO) in Ikeja L.G announced a donation of 1 million Naira. It would be recalled that he had earlier made cash donations ranging from 100k to 200k to several wards in the Local Government.

While expressing his optimism for the party to win big at the forthcoming elections, Otunba Segun Adewale averred that reconciliation & financial motivation would boost the enthusiasm of the over 200,000 party members which cuts across different divides. It's a very simple arithmetic that a layman can work out and come out with better solution without stress base on what we are seeing in our environment currently like "Oyinbo" said 'seeing is believing'.

The current situation of Lagos West senatorial district has exposed their capabilities to represent the masses, their thinking is so narrow to empower only transporters, if you can check their records since the inception of democracy, the biggest and least empowerment they are offering is buying small bus (Koropin) for transporters, so that their Agbero will get more money because they are their tools to manipulate elections

Imagine our population in Lagos West senatorial district! Is it possible for all of us to be transporters? Is it possible for all of us to join Agbero that collecting illegal taxes from transporters? Or our constituency allowance that they are collecting on monthly basis, is it meant for only transporters and Agbero?

If the answer to above questions are NO!!! That means this is the high time for us to put party differences aside and Canvassing everyone around us to Vote for the merit.

Lagos West is the biggest senatorial district in Lagos state, it comprises 10 local government including LCDA under it.

The research review that Lagos West is number one senatorial district that lack social amenities infrastructures, the record exposed that the worst road in Lagos state is located in Lagos West. The question remains that: 'is there anybody representing us in highest legislative bar?' the answer is yes but the response is why are we in this Mess? The close answer to that response is, it's lies on whom we choose to represent us in Red Chamber.

The workshop that was aimed at bringing dividends of democracy further to the grassroot was well attended by the Osun West Senatorial Candidate, Akogun Kamorudeen Lere Oyewumi PhD, Alh. Lukman Kayode of Ayedire/Iwo/Olaoluwa Federal constituency candidate, Otunba Sola Arabambi of Ayedaade/Isokan/Irewole Federal constituency, Hon Soji Adetunji of Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo-Otin Federal constituency, Hon Prince Adekunle Oladimeji of Irepodun/Orolu state constituency among other notable candidates from Osun state.

Osun state PDP caretaker Chairman, Dr Akindele, Director of Technical, Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign council, Comr. Nurudeen Zamorano among several other party chieftains from Osun were also in attendance.

Eid-el-Maulud: L&K salutes Muslim Faithfuls

As Muslims commemorate the birth of Holy Prophet Muhammad, an Osun People's Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain, Oluomo Lukman Kayode Mudashiru (L&K) has urged Nigerians to imbibe peace, love and unity just as it was preached by the Prophet.

In his goodwill message, the PDP House of Representatives Candidate conveyed the felicitation of the people of Iwo, Ayedire and Ola-Oluwa Federal Constituency to Muslim Faithful across the country.

Mudashiru prayed to God that peace will continue to reign in Nigeria adding that the enemies of the nation will be disappointed.

He stressed that the occasion calls for sober reflection even as Nigerians approach the 2023 general election while maintaining that the celebration should be done with modesty and all sense of responsibility noting that we have an assignment to keep Nigeria together.

“May this occasion bring Nigeria peace, hope and fulfillment we need to continue being an independent nation,” Mudashiru said while wishing all Muslims a pleasant celebration and Nigerians a happy holiday.

Today, alongside the Senatorial Candidate of our party, Akogun Lere Oyewumi, Ola Oluwa LG House of Assembly Candidate of our Party, Hon. Abiodun Ibrahim, I received defectors in to the family of People's Democratic Party in Olaoluwa Local Government of Osun state.

These defectors in their hundreds spoke on how they are certain that PDP is the party with answers to the question Nigerians are asking which is why they are joining the PDP.

While speaking, I charged the defectors to rest assured that the PDP will be home to them and appealing to them to support the party and mobilize for all our activities and campaigns assuring them that we will deliver on all our campaign promises.

Earlier, Mr Waheed Ajani, Olaoluwa LG PDP Acting Chairman had received the defectors on behalf of the PDP State Chairman and handed them over to Akogun Lere Oyewumi.
