Good morning all,

I am new on the platform. Please I have an issue. I recently applied for M.Eng in Computer Engineering (thesis-based and funded) in MUN but was rejected based on unavailability of supervisor. But they said that I can be considered for MASc in Computer Engineering for fall 2021 but it require additional fees of about 21,000CAD apart from the school fees which is about 2,000CAD. I have told them to go ahead and consider me for that but I seek advice for a path:

1. Do I go ahead with this MASc and pay additional fees (which I intend to raise but do not have a the moment and join them in fall?
2. Do I wait and reapply for M.Eng for next year and try and get a supervisor ahead of time?
3. Do I go straight and apply afresh and apply for PHD fully funded cos I already have my MSc from a Nigerian University.

I intend to use my uncle as a sponsor and my current account is not up to 3,000USD and I am also married with kids. Age:36

I will appreciate your kind response.

You can consider option 2 and 3.... if you go for option 2, do not mention you have a masters in your visa application.

Age is not a barrier Chief...

Good day if you didn’t score well in your ielts can you still submit it as NSE requirement
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Teenie19(f): 1:36pm On Mar 25, 2021
This means there was a change in status but no action required on your end...you would basically notice there was change in your application status but nothing is required on your part and they are not asking for anything either...but I think it's a sign showing they are working on your application...

Hello, I read through your comments, Thank God for the progress so far. I want to ask a question. What are you using as your home ties since your spouse and kids are included in your visa application. Your response will be highly appreciated. Thank you.
Kkddyit:
Also a PhD applicant with partial funding. I got the NSE letter for my IELTS and mybankstatement. While I provided my IELTS I wasn't able to provide mybankstatement because my bank is not currently able to provide same. I responded with an LOE and attached all my POF plus the funding I got from the school. I will advise that you provide it if your bank is participating.

Hello,

It's not compulsory, but very necessary.

I'd say you should get it.

Total tuition 2yrs is 34k. @ 17k per yr. Paid 7k already. So Bal of 10k and living expenses is the 10m in her account. Is the 5m in mine sufficient for sponsorship?..

Same as me. But I have contacted my school here in naija to help me with english proficiency waiver highlighting that my degree was in english.

Also about to write to the school am going for to know if they give such since I was waived of IELTS during application.

If I get both or any of them,I will submit it with my IELT or if I don't get the waiver, I will still submit my IELTS like that with my application. I feel it isn't a bad idea. If they are not ok with it, then they can use the normal route.

My Little opinion though. Gurus knows better.

Dont include it cos all these VOs are mad.. they might see yours and ignore hers and deny her based on financial reasons.

IRCC dobt grant visitors visa anymore to internationals cos of Covid.its just study and PR are 100% active now. If you are in canada as a student and want your family to join u and stay, why not opt for a spousal work permit for your husband and son

Even the PR applications for outlanders have been on hold for more than a month due to travel restrictions. Appearntly, IRCC are only processing essentials workers (work permit applications) and study permit applications.

Study leave letter from employer is crucial to demonstrate to the immigration authorities that you've a job to come back to in Nigeria after studies abroad. This helps strengthen your career prospects back home.

Tax clearance certificate is not a mandatory document. You can submit your application without one.

It is not compulsory but it increases your chance. Especially if your job role is closely related to your masters program.

I strongly advice you get study leave.

Spent some considerable time on this aspect. I provided the following:

1. Evidence of my landed properties (2 plots and got a valuation report).
2. Pension for my self and spouse. Stated that only 25% of the balance is accessible before the statutory age of 50yrs.
3. I have over 10yrs of work experience on my current job. So provided the contact of my current and past managers - providing some sort of comfort and possibilities of rejoining. (Same for spouse)
4. I highlighted that PhD is sort for both public and private institutions in Nigeria and Africa at large. Plus my over 10yrs industry experience, I see enormous opportunities on my return.
5. All of our families are here in Nigeria. ETC

Just make it convincing and it will sure end in praise.

If you are pursuing a masters, do not include either of those masters but if it PHD, include the most recent or both.
