Very disappointing, there's money, facilities, talent etc ..
this right here is a major concern for me too, S.A.league is one of the best in Africa with great investments too and also a football crazy nation I wonder how they always fall to teams with lower standard of football compare to their's, its not like these other teams have top stars in Europe.

South Africa lacks talent in football. If Nigeria has the kind of infrastructure, South Africa has, we will be among the top 5 in the world

We (Nigeria) actually occupied 5th position in FIFA global ranking in 1994/1995.

Oga there is no talent at all . majority of there player are far below average apart Percy Tao.. Because everybody is playing and they have facilities does not mean there is talent .

There is talent. We have a player at Newcastle United, we have a player at Leicester City and at Southampton. All those players aren't chosen...we have players players in Portugal playing week in week out. Don't tell me that's not talent.

The mentality of our home based players is also to blame tbh.. South African players are spoilt man, they don't push themselves. They are content to just play for the big three which is Pirates, Chiefs and Sundowns. Part of the reason is that the league can now pay at high salaries because of TV deals, some teams can match Greece, Belgium etc lin pay level so when our players get offers from those countries they turn them down because they get the same money here at home, the effect is that our players don't get to play at a higher level as a result.

I'm not claiming we have those, we have them as a matter of fact. We have facilities that rival those in Europe but results are not forthcoming due to a myriad of reasons.

Not everything we do revolves around Nigerians. Our players aren't trying to be Okocha. If we didn't have footballing talent, we certainly wouldn't have produced stellar players in the past

SA has one of d best rugby traditions in d world yet it can't play physical football
The size of rugby players is not similar to that of footballers, even the training is different, rugby players bulk up footballers don't. You also have to look at the ethnic make up of most of rugby teams, Afrikanners. They are usually big and tall even black players that play rugby usually come from rugby type conditioning.

Black South Africans are usually shorter and lighter in comparison to West Africans

The quota system/discrimination as regards race is getting to them. Blacks play football whites take rugby.
Their best footballing yrs had a mix of both races from Neli Tovey,Arendse and Mark Fish. Even had a local white coach as they won got to 2 AFCON finals in 2yrs!
Every south african should be given the opportunity to play devoid of race.
Every South African is given a chance to play for the national team, there aren't any racial quotas.

Spain, before their team started dominating the world, always underachieved at the international stage despite having players like Hierro, Raul, Nadal etc and having teams like Barcelona, Madrid etc. If you will remember, in France 98, you guys knocked them out with that Oliseh goal..My point is we are simply underachieving, we are not devoid of talent.

Best what?

They only have organization but no natural talent

Meanwhile Nigeria has abundant talent no organization
Theres is natural talent in South Africa. We wouldn't have the likes of Pienaar, McCarthy, Radebe, Fortune etc if we didn't have natural talent. I know there is this tendency for Nigerians to be salty whenever South Africa s mentioned but be reasonable.

If South Africa can start doing like France by picking some foreigners who re talented in SA, trust no country in Africa can beat them.. there re lots footballers who re stranded in South Africa currently, they came here to find a football club but didn’t succeed and now they re stranded, no papers and no money. But these guys play better than some EPL players..There is this Cameroonian guy that plays with us every Sunday at Bruma Park...This guy is so good that sometimes I ll ask him “What re you still doing here with us?” You re still young and very very talented, you shouldn’t be seen around here then he confessed to me that he played for Cameroonian under 21, he showed me pics...But he came here 4yrs ago to see if he could get a nice club but it didn’t work out for him.

My point is if South African Fa can go to the street and scout players regardless of nationality, Bafana Bafana will be strong. That’s what France is doing and look at them today
Why must we be the ones to do that?why not Nigeria?

You're right, absolutely ! Your team needs total overhauling and I think you also need to adopt a football philosophy that's result oriented. I mean a winning mentality; not just to entertain and all these wacky goal celebrations !

With all the resources and infrastructures at its disposal,Bafana Bafana should be one of the strongest contenders for afcon tittle but sadly, they (Bafana Bafana) are pretenders, always !

There are lot of very good and talented foreign players in your league that have not been capped by their countries. You can naturalised some of these players to help your soccer development. You need strong players in your team. France did that successfully; you can do it too.

Good luck !

Dude, u missed d point & u are now bringing ethnicity into d discussion which is unnecessary & has nothing to do with it. Siya Kolisi isn't white and a million Siya Kolisis can still be produced. If we are to go by ur theory that it's d Afrikaaners that make up most of ur rugby team because they are bigger & taller than d blacks, then d sports ministry should start recruiting more Afrikaaners into bafana bafana instead of depending on black footballers
