There are worse landlords than tenants in this country.
sometime in 2009 i rented a 4Bedroom bungalow for 600k, after the 2yrs the guy increased to 750k. When i protested he said i should leave the house if i don't want to pay. Meanwhile, i had done POP and other stuffs in anticipation of a long stay. long story short, we landed at 700k but guess what, he took it to 800k the very next year. The moment i left the house after 6yrs of stay he gave it out for 1.2m based on the transformation i did on the house.

That's why it's mumuist to transform a rented apartment. By that, you are making life difficult for future tenants just because you are not smart. Spend the money to acquire land and build for yourself than face-lifting houses of Ingrates.

I also try to reach to my landlords whenever my rent is due to pay them. That's why till date, I can walk up to anyone of them to request for one thing or the other.

Same also last week for my office that is to be due at the end of today.

This is supposed to be the standard. But some Nigerians derive pleasure in owing, even when they have they wouldn't wanna pay. I have people owing me for 3 years and they've never for once said a word about it. The most annoying part they will now start avoiding your calls.

Most people are not credit worthy.
Even when you don't have once your creditor calls, pick the phone every time and tell them you don't have it yet. Also whenever you promise to pay at a particularl time, once it's gets to that point and you don't have the money yet communicate with the person.

We have a lot to learn in terms of ethics and normal behavior.

Lol, I once paid my landlord twice in a year, and this man actually forgot. Came the next year and told me I owed him 1year. And I was like, ahn ahn, one full year? and I no run mad? Like how can I owe him one full year and still stay with all calmness...

I had to print out 2018 bank statement just to show him the transaction.

Best thing in life, pay yoir bill early and never procrastinate cos life no sure for anybody. Debt is an enemy of money.

Coincidentally, I have a stress-free tenant named Peter as well, pays even b4 his rent expires and electricity bill the day it's sent. May God continue to bless and provide for him and other good meaning tenants and landlords

When you know your rent is the cheapest in the neighbourhood, for that sort of Apartment, you will be willing to pay even three years advance rent afterall, once he collects it, your rent is FIXED for those years and he cant increase it.

His claim is tat his Business is not moving, due to Corona Virus.
Until the day the landlord showed everyone, Pictures of him, everyday for about six different days, chilling with Two Cans of Trophy and Pepper Soup, after work. One of the pictures even had a babe he is toasting and bought food and drinks for (That one has caused wahala between him and hos wife already)..
The guy nearly collapsed and promised to pay by Friday. But he still defaulted.

Just like me I hate owing rents or any debt, I try my best to pay on time and face other things.

Lolz... Still bro, i dont think theres ANYONE who wouldn't like to be debt free.

In the case of this man, imagine owing rent of like 500k, being someone whose used to flexing, the price of 2 cans of trophy and peppersoup migth be 0.03% of his rent, it wouldn't to anything.

Maybe his business rakes in hugly and 2 or 3 deals, then rent is made. He migth be expecting that, at the same time enjoy his life with the money for trophy and peppersoup. I hope you understand what i am trying to say?

My landlord has never ever reminded me about rent
I'm the one who usually go to find out from him the exact month am supposed to pay
Infact I intend to even add something to the standard anual rent I usually pay since I've been there for 3yrs now without any increment
Moreso is the fact that I think the house brought me alot of luck

He's a faithful tenant, he deserves discount.

My Mum was a stress free tenant until we just packed into our new house last Sunday.

He is a good man and things are going well for him sometimes people are not bad but conditions changes people

That's so me. My landlady said I'm her best tenant. I don't wait for her reminder, mostly pay ahead of time.
Like my rent is due today but I've already credited the woman's account on 24th and got her blessings. She earlier informed me in January about a 25% increase in rent. I wasn't so comfortable with it and actually contemplated the idea of delaying the rent, packing out, etc. But in the end, I said to myself, "I and my family have enjoyed peace in this yard; since I can pay this, no need giving this woman headache"

I'm also praying and believing God the place should be my last rented apartment, the next place should be mine, Amen

Amen and you will surely get your own house. Good tenants eventually become Landlords.
