Pregnancy was a smooth ride. I had plenty cold water and sweet junks and food unlike my first boy's pregnancy. I also learnt its normal for some babies not be naturally very active (Jackie chan kind of active) in the womb. Naturally. The very gentle ones. Few kicks here and there but no dramatic turnings.

Hamintab:
Hi Guys,

I will appreciate some clarification from the experts or experienced.

My wife is currently pregnant with our second baby and will be due very soon.

The first child was delivered via CS in a private hospital. We got 3 diff reasons for CS from 3 diff Dr. in the same hospital. But at the point of labour when I was asked to sign the consent form, the reason was that labour was taking too long, she is now weak and may affect the baby if pushed further.

After delivery when I request for a report, the reason was that the pelvic was too small, and another Dr latter said the baby had the cord on the neck....That went.

Now we are expecting the second baby, and she is registered at the General Hospital and a diff Private hospital this time. She was asked to do CT pelvimetry scan which she did at Afriglobal. The report that came with the scan footage says her sacropubic diameter is inadequate. Her value is 11.1 and the reference value is 11.5

When the report was taken the hospital (private), she was told that she will have to go through a CS and she should decide on a date when its time.

The same report was then taken to the General Hosp, and she was told that the report may not be accurate that she will go through viginal delivery first, then they may now revert to CS if necessary.

Kindly help shed some light .

Why should someone go through labour pain before doing CS? My advice is safe money and go for CS.

March 16th (EDD) Night
I told hubby to come and suck bobby as it is the only trigger for baby movement, Braxton Hicks\false contractions. He sucked for a little over an hour. Like that like that lower abdominal pain started that night. Throughout the next day, the 17th the same thing. I went to the hospital on 18th morning, they checked me and brought out one orisirisi ( I think an accumulation of whitish stuff, I used to have on and off infection. Yes, the infection was a new one for me. I didn't have it in my first). The nurse reported that "it has not established".

At that point I could not understand the simple English she was speaking grin. Pains! Little did I know abi much had i forgotten how it starts from blues to raggae grin. I was like "madam, explain this ' it has not established' something very well, cos my body has established and is experiencing labour grin. They said I should walk around a lot and come back if any change(s).

I went home and prepped for long distance trekking. I achieved a reasonable distance came home and rested. The abdominal pains were coming in stronger. By 5pm, off we went to the hospital. They checked, 2cm. Oboooi! shocked Is this how I so much hyped myself to endure till when I will land in the hospital and put to birth in under 10 minutes of arrival will end? grin grin omo x 1 billion!

They advised I stay back maka na abani eteka... because the night is too far. Me, still wanting to achieve my wishful thinking (in my first, the hospital didn't allow my husband stay with me. A different hospital from the present. I just truly and really didn't want to experience labour alone for another long hours) said I will go and come back. Around past 9pm I started seeing stars. The pains were coming strong on my waist, not just abdominal and kind of regular.

Hubby quickly brought our stuff out, in the process my flask broke. The plastic part was just breaking at each touch (expired plastic I later suspected it to be), he managed to save the vacuum though. I am mentioning this because at that moment if I was sane, I knew how I would have reacted grin grin I bought the flask with my money with so much assurance. But then, it was like I should even break the vacuum on top for trying to delay our movement to the hospital grin.

We left for the hospital and every time the contraction hits, hubby will stop driving and park. Kai! We got to the hospital at a little past 10pm. Climbing the stairs was a task. I was checked and told 3cm. 3 qwharrt!!!! shocked shockedembarassed. I told hubby and he said "remember the last time you were 3cm and it didn't take long you jumped to 10cm and delivered immediately. " That calmed me down a bit. The boost and support I needed not like it works exactly that way always. But at least, at all at all na winch cheesy.

Hubby was with me throughout, praying, massaging my waist, encouraging me. When I started feeling the urge to push, I tried to hold it for 3 contractions and then started screaming mostly in my dialect "I can't hold it oooo" "they won't listen to me ooo... I can't hold it any longer". The nurses ran out and were telling me not to push, they were ready to check again to see how far I had gone. As they were still talking, my water bursted forcefully and I shouted " oputala oputala oputala!" grin grin. They came and looked closer to confirm (I went to lie on one of the benches in the antenatal room, it was dark there but very airy). I had already change to wrapper when I was checked at 3cm. When they confirmed it was amniotic fluid, I was immediately transported to the delivery room.

Two pushes and my baby boy came out at 1: 05am 19th March weighing 3.3kg. He was given to me while the placenta was delivered. My hubby was invited into the labour room. He witnessed it all. I had tears which was sown. The sewing up felt like it will never end, I was feeling every prick despite the injections. But it ended and was cleaned up thoroughly.

To God be the Glory!

Team March, it is a pleasure going through the journey with y'all. God bless us and our new LOs.

BS!!!

I have already shared my pregnancy story, so I will cut this epistle short.

Delivery

Pregnancy was sweet and amazing throughout, not until I heard about anti-malaria drugs at week 38. I was very worried and afraid that something might happen because I didn't take the drug, blame the former hospital I used.
So at week 38, I changed hospital and the new doctor is friendly and has great reviews.

Week 39, Saturday 27th was my supposed to be my first ante-natal there but on Friday, I had diarrhea. Saturday came and it seemed it won't stop, so I kuku went to the hospital early to complain.
Doctor was surprised, he thought I came early for ante-natal but I told him I was having diarrhea, he asked if I have been seeing mucus or any other sign. I told him, i have been having Braxton Hicks with back pain and menstrual cramp pain with small small mucus.

That was when the story started o.

He said he would do VE to know what's up but first he felt my abdomen and said I was contracting, I was surprised.

He did the VE(I was almost cursing the doctor because it was so painful) and he told me I was 2cm. I wasn't expecting it, but he said he would admit me, execpt I want to go and come back. I called my husband and SIL(nurse) she said I should go home and go back in the evening.

I left clinic and when I got home, I quickly repack my bag, clean the house, drank hot water, trekked and danced....

Around 9 we got to the clinic, and I was checked again 5cm, yet I was not having pain just little cramps.
Doctor went home o and he promised to come very early. I could sleep and manage the slight discomforts.
In the morning, he took me to delivery room, ruptured membrane and passed the drip, and then the serious contraction started, at that point I was 7cm..

I was very lucky to meet an elderly woman in my Ward (she was there with her daughter that had miscarriage) the woman was massaging my back and I was begging her not to stop anytime the contraction started.

Contraction was progressing and when I started having the urge to push, they took me to delivery room, but after many attempts, I couldn't push my baby and the doctors and nurses were mad at me that they had to take me back to my Ward...
The woman, my husband, nurses and doctor were begging me to corperate o but I couldn't just get it right.
Whenever I had the urge to push I would do so strongly and they took me back to delivery room. As we were at that, I was insulting everyone o including the doctor.

Las Las Sha, they passed another drip and increased it by x6, according to what I understand and I was having severe urge to push. Doctor prepared vacuum and with the next push at exactly 9:14a.m, 28th of March, my baby boy cried into the world and I was smiling as I watched them do their things.
I was very happy and instantly I was not feeling any pain again (God is great).
Doctor checked me and realized I was bleeding due to the tears although I was cut too, which made him stiched me in three different places.
I was given injection but I could feel slight pain.
He finally packed blood and I was returned to my Ward to clean up.

TTC mamas, this year will not pass you by. Amen
All pregnant mamas, I wish you easy and complication-free delivery
Nursing mothers, we receive strength to take care of our babies.Amen
Team March and April, it's a great experience for me to ride with you all.
God bless us.

Birth Story(long post alert)

I am really grateful to God for the privilege of motherhood. It's a gift which money cannot buy.

We got married in 2018 and that was how our TTC journey started. Plenty tests, herbal and orthodox drugs, so many nights of wetting pillows and prayers. I had just completed another round of treatments and confirmed ovulation for the first time in my TTC journey in early June 2020.
I started having pains on one breast and tested with PT strip as early as 12DPO and got a faint line. The line continued to get clearer with time.
By the grace of God, first trimester was like a walk in the park as I didn't experience MS, no nausea, vomiting, spitting. I was never weak, instead it was as though the pregnancy made me stronger. I had to go for a scan at 11weeks just to be sure I was pregnant grin. I only had occasional constipation.
Second and third trimester was also easy, save for occasional heartburn and cough.
I started expecting signs of labor from 37th week as I wanted baby to come on or before my birthday which was around 39th week. I had been taking evening walks which I increased in my 9th month. I also started climbing stairs, doing squats and eating dates and pineapple. I had to stop dates and pineapple cos my blood sugar level became high, yet no signs of labour instead I was having body pains due to too much walking.
My EDD which was Feb 26 came and passed. I had to beg my mum who is a midwife to come and do a VE/membrane sweep. On March 1st she could barely insert one finger and my cervix was not effaced at all. On 2nd, I did a scan that put baby's weight at 3.8kg. On 3rd which was my appointment, the doctor said they could only start talking about induction as from 41wks+3days which would have been March 8. He said I should just come with my bags if I don't deliver before that day. My mom did another VE the next day and there was no change in the cervix. By Friday 5th, I started making inquiries about doing a CS in a private hospital as my doctor was talking about hospital rules and protocols.
I started having regular contractions around 8pm that day but by 11pm they became irregular and later stopped. By 5am the next morning, I noticed a yellow coloured discharge when I went to pee. Few minutes later, I felt like I wanted to pee again and as I stood up the yellowish 'discharge' poured out more. That was when I knew it was my amniotic fluid and it was stained. We left for the hospital immediately as it was a walking distance from the house. The doctor on call said the meconium wasn't a fresh one but was a result of a previous assault. She proposed inducing labour and going for an emergency cs if the induction failed or if there were complications. I said I didn't want the induction as I wasn't comfortable with the fluid and I was still at 1cm dilation with no effacement. They practically forced me to go with the induction which I refused and in trying to convince me, one of the doctors told me that some people end up dying in the theatre due to cs complications. My friend who is a nurse there and works in the newborn unit adviced me against going for the induction as both baby and I would be stressed and we might still end up in the theatre. She said the induction would take a long time because of the state of my cervix and baby might end up with complications because of the stress. My consultant had to call them before they agreed to go on with the surgery. Even right there in the theatre I was still being disuaded, it was as though requesting for the CS was a crime.
They finally started the surgery by 12:45pm and by 1:07pm, baby was brought out weighing 2.9kg. They finished stitching me up by 1:35pm and I was sent back to the ward. We were discharged after 4 days (4days of plenty drama). The incision site has healed, I'm stronger now and baby is fine. The vigilante eh...you guys didn't gist me properly o but God is helping us.

I'm signing out of team Feb/March 2021. Wishing all pregnant moms a smooth ride. I'm sprinkling sticky baby dust on all our GTC mommies. The same God who changed my story shall change yours before the year runs out as I ask in Jesus name, amen.

Ohh... happy New month lovely belleful mamas. Congrats to the March mamas and congrats in advance to the rest of us.
We shall all rejoice in the end.

My super strong MAY mamas....the end is almost here, we have 5, 6, 7, 8 weeks left to meet our LOs & I'm also excited because I know some of us will be stealing April.
In all, may God be with us through the remaining part of the journey.
Please acknowledge this...let's share the excitement together.
Let's start cleaning the house, baby's crib, very soon we'll start nipples cleaning too.
Asey, how're you Mama? Ananne, how's wifey? Regards to her!
Silent mamas, buzz in and say hi!

Good morning mamas,
Congrats to all the mamas who had delivered and wish others safe delivery.

Please I've come again o, my belleful DW went for ANC yesterday and the doc said she got malaria. She was given malaria drugs and some usual ferrous, calcium and sleeping pill.

So immediately she took the drugs (they're quite much) last niight. she started feeling the babies kicks and somersaulting. The movement were intense and so much for 3hours that she couldn't sleep until 3am. She has not experienced this before.

Pls experience mama especially the Iya-ibeji, is this normal occurrence for baby movement tho as at this morning the movement has subsided.
