Corps members posted to Mbano in Imo state took to Twitter to share photos of the poor state of the corper's lodge they have to live in for the next one year as they serve, IgbereTV reports.

As seen in the photos shared, the exterior of the lodge looks badly in need of renovation. The interior is just as bad and the corps members have to sleep on tattered mattresses placed on the bare floor.

Other corps members reacted by sharing photos of the terrible state of their lodge too. However, some told them they are lucky to be allocated accommodation and not every corps member is that fortunate.

This is terrible and sadly there’s nothing anyone can do about it, during my own time at my ppa the accommodation they provided wasn’t cool but it’s way better than this, before they took us to the lodge we were warned not to post anything about it on SM, she kept saying if we try there’s going to be consequences cause it’s a federal institute, the lady said if you are not pleased with this place you can get your accommodation else where!!
Las las out of 15 of us na only 3 girls stay for that lodge

sad seems like NYSC has outlived it's purpose

No maintenance culture or regards for human beings.

Check it out someone in charge of the lodge is eating or has eaten the funds meant for the Lodge's maintenance.

A bucket of paint is less than 5000 naira, but this corpers wont see it as a need for them to paint the lodge and make it look good, but they can complain from now till tomorrow

LmAo see enjoyment, the place even has a roof ... The corper lodges I saw in Kebbi,Niger, Sokoto states in 2020 can’t be properly described...

Yes, but what is the LG chairman and the state governor doing about the situation too?

We keep shouting 'True federalisim' , YETexpect whoever occupies Aso Rock to be our governor and local government chairman too, when we have validly elected people in those jobs.

Maybe we should pass a law in Abuja calling for the abolition of states and LGA. Let everything be run from Abuja. We no longer need governors, and LG chairmen.
