My wife just got conditional offer to Birmingham City University. However they’ve increased there first payment before CAS will be issued to £3,000 Instead of the £1,500 I saw on there site before applying.

Seems I will have to wait for other admission to drop before deciding...nawa o

When did she submit her application? I have applied since February but they are yet to communicate to me till now

Good afternoon guys, please I need advice from gurus in the house.

I have gotten admission offers from Teesside University, Uni Sunderland and Uni Wolverhampton for Semptember. Teesside tuition - 13,000 to deposite 4000 with 2000 scholarship. Sunderland tuition - 13,500 to deposite 3500 with 1000 scholarship and Wolverhampton tuition- 13950 to deposit 3000 with 1000 scholarship. I really don't know much about these cities and I would prefer a place with friendly living expenses and part time job opportunities. Please guys your advice will go a long way to helping me make a decision on wish of the schools I should accept.

It’s advisable to wait closer to resumption time to apply if you don’t want UKVI to keep your passport for 2months .this is my opinion though from a family member’s experience

Hi guys, I got an offer to study at the University of Hull and Nottingham Trent University. I have applied to other universities and got offered admission but I was torn between these two for some reasons. However, having spoken to a friend in London and was given some good advice I have decided to go with the University of Hull.
I will like to advice some people here based on what I was told.

-Getting a good job in the UK takes time, most times they require some UK experience so you shouldnt just expect to get a good graduate job immediately you complete your studies, go for the one available, gain some experience and then try applying again for the one you have had your eyes on all along.
-Most employers in the UK check the ranking of your University before considering you for a job.
-It is very rare to get a permanent job with your 20hours student work permit only parttime/temporary jobs are easily gotten.
-You can change your location after your studies to a place where the chances of getting the kind of job you want and/or qualify for is in abundance. -If you do not get a job after studies please do your self a favour by applying quickly to leave the United Kingdom for some other country that her economy is way stronger than that of the UK before your Visa expires. Coming back to Nigeria shouldn't be an option with all that is happening here, but if your situation is different and your connect is strong here please do come back.

In summary, do what works for you, individual situations differ.

Nice but what give you job is your skillset and experience and not any university ranking.

That is why UK are still recruiting from those who studied outside UK. Show that you can do the job
and you are good to go.

Only Oxford and Cambridge have bragging right of ranking.

True, but experiences differ. Some organizations check university ranking trust me, Universities like University of Oxford and Cambridge like you rightly mentioned and some other A list universities like LSE, University of Leeds, University of Glasgow, University of Edinburgh, University of Birmingham, University of Sounthampton, University of Nottingham etc. Check their tuition fees and compare to the rest, there is a reason why theirs is way higher. I am not disputing the fact that exprience and skills are very important but having those alone might not suffice for some kind of jobs in the UK. I did my undergraduate in the UK so I know what I am talking about.

That will help but wont give you the job.

My wife went to a very low ranked UK university and just got a job with NHS last week. She is still in her final year. Will begin the job in September.

Do you know what really made her get the job over her counterpart? Her experience as a Care Assistant as it tallies with the health sector. She also had First Aid training and End of Life Care Skillset with strong reference from her line manager and her course tutor in school.

Stop wasting your time in university ranking. Focus on the course, how it tallies with your career, tuition and whether there are job opportunities. Get skillset and relevant experience.

I REPEAT NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOUR UNIVERSITY. HAVE RELEVANT SKILLSET AND EXPERIENCE, AND THE JOB IS YOURS.YOU WILL BE THE ONE SELECTING.

Yes sir, you are right. Some organizations still discriminates, it is not the right way but it happens. NHS does not because they need hands, any job related to health anywhere do not necessarily care about where you acquired your university degree. I still insist that experiences differ.

In that sector, get the right skillset and stop complaining. Send your CV and let me reccomend and advise you on what to do to make employers look for you. You are in the UK. This is not Nigeria.

Anyone proposing sept entry with them?

Anyone going to GCU September entry? I defered till September 21 with acknowledgement of my deferment from the school but haven't been issued an offer letter about 2 months. When I contacted them, they said they're updating their admission cycle which affect their marketing/admission processes coupled with the busy jan entry schedules. Anyone with application there?

You are welcome. Wishing you the best. The discrimination might be RACISM. Some sector are filled with RACISTS. Please just focus and don't let them distract you in your way. If you can plant evidence and recording, it will help as you climb up the ladder.
Good luck in your choice.
