Hello Team, I just received PPR for study permit. I'm currently finalizing packing up, so I'll have some questions to ask, kindly oblige.

Should I get Police clearance certificate now before traveling? Will I need it for filling for PGWP or PR after studies? Someone should kindly explain what is required for the next step after masters. Thank you all

Also, I have the plan of buying the following. Pls scrutinize my list and advice on any item that won't be allowed into Canada.

Small Bluetooth speaker
Electrical extension

Ogbono and Egusi
Several spices for peppersoup and stew
Crayfish, stock fish and various other dried fish
Rice, beans, garri
Dried pepper (not grinded)
Sachet Tomato, Knorr, curry, etc
Custard, and sugar.. I've heard that milk won't fly

Kindly scrutinize my list and advice what I should drop or what I should add to my luggage. I look forward to your kind responses. Thank you.

Get the PCC after you've left. IRCC won't accept the PCC you get while still in the country for PR. You can get it from the NHC in Ottawa I think, the seniors can help with the process.

Hello, I'm trying this permanent residency thing as a lawyer. And I just got my transcript and statement of result for my masters in Law.
I've been working for a law firm for a couple of years now and I'm strictly into research for the firm. My salary for the firm isnt that high so I've been paid with cash. I'm also an IT person and have been building apps for years now but only just registered my IT company mid last year here in Nigeria.
1. What's the best way to prove that I have 3 years work experience when I've been paid with cash.
2. WILL my IT experience in app development help in anyway.
3. I'm applying for the PR as a lawyer but havent been paying my Practicing fees since I dont really go to court since I strictly work on research. Do any of you know if they will ask for the practicing fee receipts in any of the stages since I'm applying as a lawyer.
Will really appreciate if anyone can help

[quote author=Pee2Jay9 post=100373315]Also, I have the plan of buying the following. Pls scrutinize my list and advice on any item that won't be allowed into Canada.

Don't bother with some of the items here, only come with those listed below..

Small Bluetooth speaker - Fine if you already have it, else, just come and get it here
Electrical extension - Don't bother, the pin sizes are different, get it for less than $5 in a thrift store, about $25 for brand new ( just go to thrift store)
Ogbono and Egusi - come with this...
Several spices for peppersoup and stew - come with plenty Peppersoup spice - you should find other spices here
Crayfish, stock fish and various other dried fish - most African stores have this
Rice, beans, garri - don't bother to bring this
Dried pepper (not grinded) - don't bother
Sachet Tomato, Knorr, curry, etc. - don't bother
Custard, and sugar.. I've heard that milk won't fly - don't bother

in my opinion, It is not worth the effort and time doing cargo either, the price you will get the items here is cheaper than the cargo cost ( most provinces have enough African stores to meet your need...you'll get a good portion of these things in normal stores like Walmart, superstore, Sobeys, wholesale club, etc.)
If you have a friend who can take you out for just one day, you will get everything you need.

The rule is to apply 6 months before it expires. That would be December this year.

I posted a link earlier on how and what to do.

Do it now as the earliest appointment date is May 12th.

Then go to:

Hi good day everyone, I’m a newbie here and I have a question to ask please. I’ll be traveling to Alberta by God’s grace first week of May and would like to know if I can quarantine in my uncle’s house after the 3 days mandatory quarantine at one of the hotels.
Since my classes are online for now, don’t want to spend money on accommodation.
Thanks so much as I await your responses. Happy Easter!!!!

Knorr is $19 in African store but there are bouillon cubes and bouillon powder in regular stores at more affordable prices. Even knorr and maggi brand self.

Thank you for this.

I keep telling people there are close substitutes here and at a cheaper rate. Why trouble yourself when you know you would be spending most of your life here?

Or rather, why risk fines and seizures when you can avoid it.

Example: They sell Milo for $3.99 at most superstores here (Walmart, Metro, Loblaws) and people still bring Milo. Like kilode shocked

What is the implications of adding a spouse when both of you are post AOR?

Avoiding misrepresentation which may lead to ban.

IRCC says to notify them of change in circumstances and status. Marriage is one.
