The uterus will go back to it's normal position on its own, forget all this pressing and punishment things.
Although my mum has been doing it for me o and I have been enduring it because she won't agree with me

You should be glad it is just pressing the stomach with hot water. I had to sit on hot towel when I had my first child.

Depends on your body. Breastfeeding helps burn fat too. In a year you should almost completely back to.your normal sef

It took your tummy 9 months to stretch, you just gave birth the other day. Continue breastfeeding exclusively and allow the uterus to go back on it's own.

Only your Dr can give you a valid answer.
While being swollen can be a simple issue or water retention and a pregnancy package, it can also be an indication of sth going wrong in your system.
Your Dr has your medical history and can be able to suggest tests to identify if it's the simple one or not.

Tie your belly or use a Postpartum belt.
Drink warm fluids, avoid cold water.
If you can take these Igbo peppersoup for new moms, take it. There's sth in it that helps to flush your uterus (if you have bleeding issues, please this isn't for you).

Give your body time to heal.
Your uterus won't go back to position fully for about 6 weeks. So chill and enjoy your mommy pouch.
Forget all you see on SM, that pouch doesn't disappear immediately.

For the massage thingy, I'm a firm believer.
Not only on the stomach though.
Let them use hot towel to press you especially your neck area, shoulder, back, armpits, breast and face, and belly too.
There's this unexplainable heaviness that descends in the 3rd to 4th day after birth, this hot compress will make you feel better.

I totally agree with zaynie on the massaging, it was a great help when I had my first baby.

I thank God for how far he has brought us. Just like yesterday that we got our BFP and here we are today thanking God for these precious gifts...

Thanks mama I did it o the pressing of back chest breast and have stopped since 8 days am asking is it too early to stop

I had episiotomy for my first too and I went through this. I was gisting with my friend about it one day and she told me her hospital told her to only sit on luke warm water with few drops of liquid Dettol. After that she should use methylated spirit on the stitches. I wanted to cry when I remembered the pain I passed through. Me I'm not doing all this sitting on hot water again o.

Manual didn't work for me. No matter how hard I try to pump, I even get more from hand expressing. I tried it for my first child, it didn't work and also tried it for my second child same result. I bought the manual for #1200 then,I add a fellow colleague who bought hers for #200 and it worked well for her. I guess manual doesn't work for some persons. This time around I'm going to invest in a good electric pump by God's grace
