Do you live in Nigeria? If you don’t, then please don’t compare yourself to the average Nigerian with the average Nigerian problems. You see one thing about Nigerians that live abroad is that they run away from Nigeria and still feel they can give the average Nigerian living in Nigeria financial advice.

Why did you not stay back in Nigeria and apply the so called universal wealth building financial advice to become wealthy? undecided
I'm so sorry, sir. I saw this coming, the reason I was hesitant to quote you. Please, don't be offended, sir.

Sorry sir. Hesitant to quote me because you saw what coming sir? It’s a simple question I asked sir. If they were universal financial advice, why did you not stay back and use the same universal wealth building strategies to build wealth from what ever you were doing in Nigeria sir? I am just curious sir. Please don’t be offended sir.

The app is telling to transfer all my contact after signing up and wanted to log in. Why should I do that when it is not as if I want to collect loan from them? When I choose the option of not transferring it refuses to open.

I personally didn’t have this experience when onboarding. I want to believe whatever data or information you share with the application will be safe and in accordance with data protection regulation

Well, making strategic career moves by seeking opportunity outside of your immediate environment is actually a wealth-creating strategy on its own. Some of us are ready to take calculated risks while some are just fine being in their comfort zone. I remember sending hundreds of applications before getting my first job and did the same each time I changed job within Nigeria.

Additionally, I consistently sent thousands of applications internationally for 5 years before I started getting Skype interviews. It can be so frustrating, but if you don't know people at the top, you must be ready to do the work.

For example, while I was working in Lagos, I got an offer from an institution in Ogun state that paid five times my current salary as at then, so it was a no-brainer to make the move. As a result, my investment portfolio expanded.

My investment journey started when I received my first salary post-NYSC because I was already feeding myself with good investment contents even when I was squatting with other students at the University. So when I received my first salary, I was clear about what I wanted. This was a very poor salary, but I was determined to save and invest no matter how insignificant the amount was.

It was while in Ogun state I got a job outside the country, and the rest is history. The only difference now is that I have more resources to do much more, but I am still doing the same thing I was doing when I was earning a poor income.

You have done well for yourself. Very well done, and I mean that.

But you had a university education, a job and an income, even though you characterised it subjectively as a "poor" one.
You had something to build upon.
You, sir, are not an average Nigerian.

I would say I never wanted to remain average, so I decided to do something about it.

I vividly remember how my first and second JAMB landed me LASU and OSU, respectively, but I had to let go because there was no way I could afford the school fees of a state university. It was my third JAMB result that gave me access to a federal university, which I was able to pay for from my proceeds selling GNLD products.

Sorry, I was the one that didn't see it clearly. It was asking me if it could "transfer Account to this device". Eventually I pressed yes and it became. I like have apps like that because even if I don't use it directly, I will get the secondary market direction from there. Thanks for sharing.

KiwiSaver the Pension Scheme of the Government of New Zealand is investing 5% of the assets of the Growth Fund in Bitcoin.

Would you invest 5% of your pension contributions into Bitcoin?

You sold GNLD?? You try o.
Ah, if you can sell those products, then you can sell anything. Na you suppose de create motivational content now that really fit our environment.

Even then, the foreign motivational content have their role also. They increase your self belief, change your mindset and make you feel you can do it, however, many of them do not tell you the HOW? I think that is where a lot of people have problems with them. Many of them make their money from public speaking.

Then the naija motivational speakers will say things like "I started with one feather, now I have a multimillion naira poultry". many of these ones say one thing and are sometimes involved in other despicable things. Then you have the motivational pastors. I have nothing to say about these ones.

Chai! I have a professional exam to write in July and it will cost me 1,050usd. I asked the administering body whether they can give me about 11 invoices (10 at 100usd and 1 at 50usd) so that I can pay with my bank cards, considering the 100usd limit, but they refused. Buying at black market rate is already tearing my pocket now, not to talk of then.

Please what do you guys advise I do to buy dollar for this purchase at CBN rate or a little higher?

This! There is no blue print to the ideal life. Some entrepreneurs will be more successful than employees while some employees will be more successful than entrepreneurs. We just pray to find luck and favour wherever we find ourselves.

I agree as well. I am a proponent of combining both, if exigencies of time and schedule permit. Nigeria is too risky for one to be laser-focused. One policy from the government or inability to innovate and a once thriving business could be gone. Same applies to employee status as well.

That's a lot of buying and a slow process and some banks will not accept lower denominations in appreciable amounts.

Fintechs are taking market share

So sweet i love this. Disrupt everywhere and mess up the traditional banks with their archaic models.

Fintechs relying on innovation to generate revenue.
Agbaya banks relying on commissions.

If the entry barrier for owning football clubs was low, i'm very sure footballers would own clubs. Musicians form their own lables. Actors direct their movies. Why didnt they stay with the label or production outfit that signed them even after they amassed wealth?

That is entirely the intention. The entry barrier for certain industries has to purposely be kept high as a form of regulation to ensure quality and standards.

If everyone could easily own a football club or music label, we would have a very disorderly and wacky system within those industries. I

In fact, it is the lack of high entry level/barrier that has plagued our educational system in Nigeria. Everyone wants to own a school. No one wants to be an employee teacher anymore. That is why you see mushroom schools at very street turn and corner, with very quality teachers.

Make I shook mouth small.

When Okonjo Iwala was the appointed the Minister of Finance, it was public that in her employment contract she requested to be paid in Dollar in the country that pays it ministers with Naira. Is she an entrepreneur? Was she not an employee of the president (Nigerian Government) then?

Okonjo was definitely an employee. She just made an informed negotiation, based on her financial literacy of the impact of our naira getting devalued.

They buy and sell lower denominations at lower rates, they even classify dollars according to serial numbers to determine the buying rate.
but just not yet I'm waiting for $1 to hit N800/$.

The $10k dollars I bought in March 2020 at N365/$ is comfortably sitting in my account, I can sell now and cash out N1.2 profit but just not yet I'm waiting for $1 to hit N800/$.
