To think of it that is not a bad idea.. 120k naira might be too high . maybe 50k like a form of deposit to safe guard against drivers damage .default etc And once the driver is ready to drop the car .the driver can than collect his/her security deposit that is things been all equal....

It is really a good idea .. I might implement it ... This is really got me thinking hmmmmmmm
Na today? It's been done before and failed woefully. Many people looking to drive on rental don't have up to 5k sef in their account not to talk of 50k.
People wey dey work sef no get 50k savings na jobless person go come get.

Its clear, its confirmed. What support is saying today is that the average rating is posted ones u have gotten 40 trips not 40 rated trips nor 40 completed trips.
This explains why my rating changes even when I don't complete upto 40trips, cos they compute and post average rating as soon I have gotten 40trips whether I accept or not, whether I fulfil or not whether rider rates me or not.

I think this also explains why rating may change when one cancels trips because ones u have hit 40trips whether u fulfil them or not ur rating will be calculated based on last 40 rated trips. So for all those thinking cancelling trips affects ur rating, I think we have solved that puzzle.
Felicity was right afterall when he said rating is based on total number of trips u receive.
Thanks Centuryman.

I'm glad your mind has now open to understand now only that it took you too much time, all the same its good.

So can we let this matyer die now? grin

Nnaa ehhh...I never hear this one before o. Make we hear the benefit the driver go enjoy sha...maybe na loan with Interest or rental go be 20k for helping him out in time of need.

Pearl1910:

Rental or HP...?

I want to believe it is HP.

If it's rental, u expect a driver to give u 120k to repair ur car and be collecting it back small small abi...what happens if u collect your car back before he collects his 120k complete?. Is there interest in the money he is loaning u?? What benefit will a driver enjoy for giving u money to fix ur car

Paparaxo:

Make person carry 120k come repair your car with nothing to leverage on. Some folks on Hp with deposit of around 500k often get bleeped up by cruel owners in between agreements, let alone someone who's going to be on rental. Bros go borrow money fix your property.. Make una dey fear GOD abeg

BAZ001:

Pls explain in simple English, do you mean driver will pay 120k to fast track repairs ?
Just like some agents will take you to uncompleted building and say if you pay for two years rent by next month the house will be ready.

So u think say driver wey no get car to drive go get 120k for savings and will be willing to part with it for repairs
Haba Make una dey fear God

Not true. They are both based on moving averages. My rating has changed in 24 hours. Infact, it has changed in less than two hours.

I was once on 4.63. As soon as I completed one ride, rating dropped to 4.53. I did two more trips and rating returned to 4.63 all under two hours.

Guy be calming down. It takes time for these things to update most of the time, if you'd noticed closely you'd seen that your initial 4.63 stayed long b4 it changed to 4.53 and thereafter 4.63 all of these are just update of all the request that entered your phone but due to network issue it didn't reflect on your driver's app.

Take another phone and request yourself or ask any of your rider to allow you see there app while you're still on a ride or before you start or end the trip you'd seen your real rating on the rider app and No. of trip you've completed... It will amaze you that you'd completed 5000 trips whereas in the real sense you'd just completed only 2000 trips.

Try it and let get feed back.

You are mostly right but your rating may not necessarily change in 1hr.

No one knows when Bolt decides to change the rating we actually see.

I have picked one guy who mistakenly rated me one star. It was right in my presence and I was expecting my rating to drop. It didn't happen till after three or 4 days.

Another instance was one time bolt was warning me that my rating was getting too low. I was on 4.78 or so and was wondering what the stupid app was saying. Couple of days later, rating dropped to 4.60.

Another instance happened just yesterday. As at when I ended one trip and the rider brought out his phone to rate me, my rating was showing 4.9 on his app. I was on 4.83.

Used my wife's phone to book myself and cancel today because my client did not show up was going too high and my rating showed 4.8 on her app. Guess what, I'm still on 4.83 but I'm very sure the rating has dropped below 4.8 just that bolt is yet to show me what my current rating is.

Good you already carried out the assignment or research b4 I even dished it out to you.

Now this is the reason your rating will not reflect immediately after your rider rates you

1. For security reasons which is to the benefit of the rider. A driver can wait to attack a rider seeing that his rating reduced after drop off. Some may even send a message and calls.

2. To kdap drivers enthusiasm high: some driver will feed sad and bad when they see that their rating keeps dropping at every point after drop off, ironically on the reverse.

These and some other reasons but let me stop here. So this the main reason the rating is mostly updated every morning or late in the evening at the COB.

All these things penalizing drivers for riders' missing items is kinda wrong to me. How do you expect drivers to know of such items when another rider might have taken it or the rider might have even misplaced the items somewhere else?

Not that such items are kept at the driver's custody.

The emboldened is why I have been working on my exit plans. These E-hailing companies can sweep their carpet under you without batting an eyelid.

I mean, how are you sure it's the driver that took the item?. I narrated an ordeal months back, where the rider called back n was insinuating he forgot his wristwatch n I was with it.

Tbh, I was livid with rage, on a normal day, if we met somewhere else apart from ehailng, he wouldn't dare even call to make such damming accusations.... I mean a bloody wristwatch.! for what..?

looking for an uber / bolt driver partner for a Toks Toyota camry 2009 vehicle.

Due to recent unplanned repairs, driver should be willing to deposit the sum of 120,000 after agreements are reached which will be deducted from his remital every month so as to accelerate repairs for car to be ready by weekend.

Call or WhatsApp 09015108949

Elegant car, but too luxurious for Uber rental fees.

Sell the car and use funds for other biz. If you insist on E-hailing, sell the car still and buy a Toks Honda civic or City....

If Rider reports a missing item, bolt will send you an in-app message. They block you if you don't reply back on time.

U r thinking of N12,500 bonus when u r at risk of losing ur account?
Issorite...did Bolt contact you about the missing phone? Cos they always do before blocking. Continue to communicate with them via that means or go to their office and clear everything. Bolt doesn't have phone number that u can call for complaints like this.

How will rider forget phone and not call you immediately, cos u can’t have only one phone and forget it in d car and u won’t call d phone number, if na yo borrow phone, at least d driver will hear it ringing.

I've read through all the posts here as regards my last post  and I'm appreciative of all valid takes.
Those that contacted me understood the terms and are free to consider.
Someone here said I'm being helped. To fix a car you'd also benefit from in the long run.
You have no access to credit and you want to manage someone's fleet or car. I wouldn't want to leave my car or cars in the hands of a desperate man.

If I was a driver, I'd even prefer it this way because if payments from your contribution are to be spread across 10 months to one year, you will have an assurance of job security as against when a partner can give you a car and yank it off you at any time leaving you without a car again.
But I am not, that's why I want to hear valid reasons why what I suggested is bad or uncalled for.

Some comments made on faceless forums are the reason why some people don't go far in life (they still might because I'm not God) .
People run background checks before they conduct business  and the most people that have been beneficial to me in my line of business are acquaintances I made on social media.
So Learn to be civil with your interactions when few people are watching, and even more civil when more are.
I've had interactions with two or three popular nairalanders from the thread in real life and I must say they I wasn't really impressed.

However, I'm open to learning more so I can understand how I am being the exploitative one here and change for the better in being a good Partner or employee.
